I am a friend or relative of a resident
What I like most in Aviv Center is the staff. They are excellent and absolutely awesome. They are very helpful and sweet. They like my mother-in-law, and she likes them. If she is not at her table at dinner, they come looking for her, find her, and make sure she has dinner. They hire special kinds of people. What's nice is that they do an assessment, and after she had been there for a month, they called me up and assessed what they need to do for her.
Her room is sunny and big. It has one bedroom, a living room, a walk-in closet, and it's beautiful. She loves it. We have dinner there, and it is fabulous. They bring in musicians. They have presentations. I always go there after lunch to visit my mother-in-law, and they always have something at two o'clock, so she is never bored. There are a lot of places where you can walk inside and outside because they have a memory care, a Jewish community center, and a child care. You can walk down the hall and look through windows to see them. My mother-in-law is happy there, and that makes us happy. It is the best move that we have ever made.

Aviv was fine. We had our aunt there briefly for a few months. They did have the usual activities but she didn't participate in any activities.

I am/was a resident of this facility
Me and my wife are staying at Woodbridge about a year and a half. The staff are okay and the people there are excellent. I really like the rent, the facility's surroundings, and the people. The food is also excellent.

The facility featured many amenities for residents to entertain themselves. The rooms were nice and had a decent amount of space to boot. They had many social areas on the ground floor. They also had good security to make sure other people don't go in there, it helps to make the guests feel secure while keeping their privacy. It wasn't very pleasing aesthetically and some of the amenities were a tad outdated but nothing too surprising. The area around it had many interesting points and stores, even some good restaurants. The state itself has nice weather and a beautiful country side. Inside many guests decorated their door and made it feel very cozy and fun, everyone seemed happy and this is rare from my experience with facilities such as this. Overall this facility is one of the better ones for residents. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic home for their relatives.

I visited this facility
Woodbridge Assisted Living at Aviv Centers for Living is located in a woody and quiet neighborhood in Peabody, MA. I visit the facility regularly as a home health nurse to check-on residents receiving nursing services. Woodbridge is a large assisted living facility. Residents' rooms are clean and spacious. The common areas (dining room, hallways and entertainment rooms etc) are also clean and there is usually staff available 24 hours who check the common areas and resident rooms regularly. The building is well secured which prevents confused seniors from wandering away. Meals are served three times every day and snacks are also provided. My patients have never complained about the quality of meals or other services. Residents do not seem to interact freely with residents like in smaller assisted living facility. Seniors who prefer living in smaller communities may not like the place.

My son works at Woodbridge. Twice when I have been there to pick him up after 7:30 there have been elderly men outside in a panic because they were locked out of the building. The doors apparently are locked after a certain time, but obviously noone really checks to make sure everyone is accounted for. It took me 10 minutes to get the girl at the desks attention to let them in both times. I would be concerned if my parent was a wanderer.

This facility is part of the Aviv Centers for Living; Woodbridge is the assisted living component. It's in a pretty setting, just off a large road and easily accessible from the major network of roads and highways, but set back and woodsy.
They are currently doing major construction after raising a lot of money to pull together all their services. In the fall, there will be all offerings of assisted living, short term care, nursing care., and limited adult day care in one place.
The common areas are currently nice"”and there are plans for additional outdoor spaces and common areas once construction is complete.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and well maintained, although closet space is somewhat limited.
On the whole residents seem more independent than at most other assisted living facilities, although there is also an excellent memory care unit.
The staff is friendly, but because it's a large place, there can be a bit of a businesslike feel about the place. The care seems good"”and the memory care is outstanding because of the people who are hired to be the eyes and ears there. In the regular assisted living section, the staff seems to know the residents, but not intimately.
Lots of activities are offered. And while Woodbridge serves a mixed clientele and clergy of all denominations come in to minister to residents, the whole place began as the Jewish Rehab Center. One plus for Jewish residents is that it has a good deal of Jewish-focused activities and the dining room serves kosher food. The food, served in three daily meals, is healthy and fresh, really good.
Some considerations: Woodbridge is expensive compared to most other places in the area, and may be best for those with a Jewish bent or those who are open to that.

Friend or relative of resident
I am writing on behalf of my entire family, the family of Eileen C. Mom passed away on September 11th at JRC and over the past few weeks, our family has had the opportunity to reflect on the last few years of mom's life and how Alzheimer's impacted her life. Although Mom's abilities declined as the illness progressed, every day she lived there she was treated with compassion and dignity by your entire staff. Our first meeting at your facility was with Sharon. Sharon set us at ease and made this transition easier for us with her compassion and patience. Even before we met the rest of the staff, we knew this was the right place for Mom. Each staff member we met just proved us right. And not only your staff, but the other professionals who joined Mom's care team. Each person who dealt with Mom or with us did so with much concern for Mom and the rest of our very large family. Despite the many demands of caring for an Alzheimer's patient, the staff handled each new challenge with care and professionalism. As Mom's health began to fail over the weeks before her death, everyone there took her care to a new level. We will always be thankful for the outstanding care that Mom and our family received. Our only regret is that we did not have the opportunity to personally thank each member of the team for all that they did for us. In an effort to express our gratitude, we enclose a check for the employee fund. It is our hope that the entire team who cared for Mom will realize the extent of our gratitude for their outstanding care of our mother.
