I liked Brookdale North Euclid. I thought they were nice. I felt like the staff knew their residents because sometimes during the tour, the person was referring to them. I feel like they might need one or two more staff members, just because it seemed like a lot of the people were trying to do two or three jobs at the same time, which can be very stressful. They're very nice people though. The facility was older. I liked the rooms, especially the single room, but it was built more like a dorm, like if you were in a school. It needs a makeover.

My father moved into Brookdale North Euclid. I like it. It is clean and nice. I like the staff and the nurse that brings him his medicine. They are nice and friendly. It's a very nice facility. His room is nice and clean. He had a window, a bed, a bathroom, a closet, a refrigerator, and a microwave. My dad likes the food there. They have a TV room and there are different seating areas. They have a lot of activities available for the residents.

They don't care for the elders. I visited a relative and he told me that they treat the people really bad there. I stayed to observe and visited a few times. I noticed that workers are on their phones and talking to each other. You see elders with crying and many with dirty diapers. It is very depressing. If you have family here. Visit them often and observe the workers. It is very depressing.

I loved Brookdale North Euclid the most because there were so many worker bees running around checking on patients. This one lady who worked there just kept coming up to my mom and saying, "I look forward to getting to know you so much when you come to live with us," and my mom saw her three times during the tour and every time the lady stopped by and said that. You saw somebody going by the rooms, giving out medications, looking on the computer, finding out, making sure they had the right medications and stuff. The staff was super friendly, and it felt like a family. There were people all over the place. The residents had their doors open, so you could just walk by and say hi. I got a really good vibe from that place. I got good vibes from all of the ones I visited, but that's the one that stands out the most. They have a lot of staff in the hallways, walking around, and everybody's super friendly. The food was good because we had lunch there. They were getting ready for happy hour, which was awesome. There were like 10 residents in the area where they were going to do happy hour. They did fall pictures, and then we ended up getting one with my mom, which was nice. They've got a great activities director. She was wonderful and full of great information. The staff during the tour was very compassionate, very concerned about our needs, and just overall a lovely woman. The rooms were decent. It's standard with a bathroom with no amenities, but there was room for you to put a small fridge, a little microwave, and a coffeemaker if you'd like. There's room for a bed, a couch, a TV, and a bookcase. The bathrooms were normal, weren't super big, or didn't have much storage, but they were usable. It was a good-sized room. It was doable.

My first impression of Brookdale North Euclid was it was very nice and clean. The staff was pretty helpful. The rooms were pretty interesting, kind of small, but doable. I wasn't able to sample the food, but they did tell me that they serve three meals a day and they showed me the dining facility, which was pretty roomy and clean. The staff during the tour was very informative, very helpful, and very patient.

I did a tour of Brookdale North Euclid, and I give it a five across the board. Everybody who gave the tour, everyone who talked to me, was super nice and informative. They had the most amenities, with movie nights, and just so many activities throughout the day. They have a library, and they have computer classes for the residents. They had a beautiful model room to show me. It was really nice, and everything was decorated pretty. They have bingo, exercises, podiatry, and transportation.

I wasn't happy with Brookdale North Euclid. They've been really short staffed because of COVID. I would call and try to talk to the executive director, the nurse's office, a medtech, and I would call and call and call and never get any callback. It was horrible. They told me they were short staffed and they could no longer take care of my dad. They left him literally laying in his own feces for long periods of time. They weren't doing what I was paying them to do, they just weren't. They won't answer calls from the loved ones. The housekeeping was terrible. You'd walk in my dad's room and it was all sticky on the floor. I'd call housekeeping and they would come up and say it's because he has urine on the floor, and I said, "No. He has a diaper on. He's spilling his orange juice, and then you're coming in and mopping it and smearing it all over the place." I had to tell them what the problem was. Literally, your shoes were sticking to the floor. They would come in with his laundry in bags. Here's my dad, bedridden and can't get up, and they come in with his laundry and just set it there in a bag. They did not undo it or put anything away, therefore he was running out of linens. They're changing his bed, but they were remaking it because all the linens were in these wrapped bags from the laundry. It was a nightmare towards the end. They came and dropped his food off, but they wouldn't even wake him up to eat. I'd come in and there was this plate covered with cellophane and my dad was asleep. They'd just come and whisk it away and bring the next one and just walk back out again. I couldn't believe it. I was appalled. I wish I had moved him sooner. I don't think he would have died as soon as he did if I had moved him sooner. He was on hospice. Hospice told me that we really need to move him to a memory care, and that's when I began my search and moved as quickly as I could, and I got him moved pretty fast, but apparently too late. My father was a resident there for a very long time. In the beginning it was great. He had a private room, it was nice, and he enjoyed it there. He didn't like not having his home -- no senior does like having to move out of their home -- but for the most part, he did love it there. He didn't like the food very much. I can't even tell how many executive directors we went through during those years, like I lost count. The turnover was just unbelievable. I didn't know who was who half the time because they were always new faces. The staff members were polite to me, but when you call and need to speak with the executive director and don't get a call back after leaving several messages, it gets a little tiring. Every now and then I might get through the medtech, but it would take several tries. At that point, my dad couldn't answer the phone anymore, so I didn't know how my dad was. I knew he was failing, and I needed an update, and it would takes me 20 to 25 minutes to get there.

The people who worked and lived at Brookdale North Euclid are exceptionally nice and friendly. The overall atmosphere is just very warm. My mom's room is nice and she loves the food. They have a lot of group activities too, from discussing menus to activities like brain or memory enhancement games and exercises every day. They also have a walking club, but because of the pandemic, it's a little bit limited. She has a balcony also in her room, but it's just been too warm to go outside very much. I think they need more shade outside.
