I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Seekers should appreciate the positive atmosphere, from the cooperation and helpfulness of the staff to the dedication and competence and compassion of the caregivers. Facilities are inviting, open, and spacious, monitored by a staff encouraging participation in planned activities. I’m pleased also that the days are organized, establishing routines of times and activities for needed consistency. Gentle persuasion and encouragement seem to be passwords in approach to residents, even those having a bad day.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has been at Terra Vista for just over a year. They provide meaningful activities for the residents every day, and we receive pictures of her participating. In warm weather the courtyard is the place to be. It's large and beautifully landscaped, and we enjoy taking a stroll or just sitting and listening to the wind chimes and watching the mother duck and her ducklings waddling around . The caregivers and staff are great.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I moved my mom to Terra Vista a couple of months ago - she can be difficult and her independent facility could no longer care for her. The staff at Terra Vista got to know her and they have no trouble dealing with any difficult behavior - and they do so in a dignified manner using redirection and other techniques. They have even taken the time to teach me about communication with my mom and how to deal with the failing memory. They keep her busy with activities, the facility is clean, the staff is welcoming and friendly.

My mom was there for little over a year and the quality of care, minimum activities, upkeep and food was declining. Short staffed and pre cooked food lead to a decision to move her to a nicer facility.

My husband has been a resident for only one week. Someone from the staff is in constant contact to inform me of his progress. There is a daily activities calendar to keep him busy The staff is courteous helpful and friendly.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My Mom lived there for 21 months and it was a wonderful experience. The caregivers took a special interest in my mother’s enjoyments and would engage with her on a daily basis. I got to know them by name and they sent numerous photos and videos of the activities. They have an amazing staff and really care about the residents.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife is in Terra Vista of Oakbrook Terrace. I'm very pleased with them. The staff is excellent. The whole facility is very nice. The building was built with memory care as the prime design for the building. The four dining areas are very nice, they all overlook an interior court, and they're roomy, so it's not a crowded situation.

My mother-in-law moved into Terra Vista of Oakbrook Terrace, and so far, it has been great. The staff is warm, friendly, engaging, and caring. The accommodations are really nice. It's set up in a square, and in the center of the square is a courtyard. Everything set up is based on memory care. The courtyard has things to engage them, like a walking trail, and they do activities out there; it's really a beautiful place. They do lots of art, music, and dancing. She's always busy. They have fish tanks and birds, and it's beautiful. It's not inexpensive, but it's the least expensive of everything we looked at, and it's the highest value in terms of what they offer.

From my observations, Terra Vista genuinely goes above and beyond to provide exceptional care. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone is friendly and caring. It appears that residents feel like they are at home.

I visited this facility

I liked Terra Vista of Oakbrook Terrace, but the distance was too far for me to go. The person during the tour was very insightful. She was very good, she knew everything about it, and she seemed very caring. I saw some painting and crafting going on. It was very nice and clean. One of the things I didn't like is they didn't have a private shower in the bathroom.

Terra vista has been an amazing facility for a personal friend. I have seen and visited many other facilities with the family to find the perfect fit for our loved one. TERRA VISTA by far superseded our standards. Every employee from the owners, upper management, caregivers/CNA’s, professional chefs, housekeeping and maintenance are involved with residents and show compassion and all work as a pteam!!! It specializes with Alzhiemers and everyone is knowledgeable. I would say if your looking for someplace for a loved one...I wouldn’t chose anywhere else!!!!

My mom is in Terra Vista. They are very caring, always notify us if they have a question, and tell me her daily progress. It is a great place. The food is good. They have three meals a day. The staff is wonderful and are always there helping. They are very into their work. She is in a good-sized room. The building is made for people with dementia. They have higher ceilings and lights that go on slowly.

About Terra Vista of Oakbrook Terrace in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois

At Terra Vista, we understand that caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or other dementia is a careful balancing act.
