I visited this facility

We had an in-person tour of Plaza Village Senior Living. I like the friendly staff. I like the community engagements and events that they have. The facility looks very clean and welcoming. We saw them playing bingo. They have activities every day. They have good food options. We toured a double room, and it was a good size. The common spaces were a good size as well.

Plaza Village Senior Living was like an apartment building. It was a little compact, not bright and open at all. They have patio spaces, but no ground space for residents. There seemed to be a lot of shared bathrooms. The staff was very nice. I liked the staff. The units looked pretty homey. It looked well-maintained, but what I didn't like was it wasn't as open and airy.

I visited Plaza Village Senior Living. The people were very friendly and very nice, but I really didn't like it because it was kind of dirty and dark. I like a lot of light, and they didn't have a lot of windows where the people were. I only saw one room, and it looked kind of like a studio. I didn't see any amenities. I only saw the dining area. It's not for us, so we didn't like it.

I went to Plaza Village Senior Living. The entryway is like a little catacomb underneath the building basically. Then you go up the elevator to the living spaces. It's a converted condominium complex, but they couldn't sell the condos. It was the most cluttered place we've been to. They had those group living spaces, where there are three rooms attached to a living room type thing. It just was a messy place. The staff who accommodated us was a nice guy. Their outdoor space there is completely lacking. It is basically parts of the rooftop of the two floors of the building. It was a completely confined space. There was no green space to speak of.

We went to Plaza Village. My sister's going to be moving in at the end of November. I've been over there a bunch of times, I love them. The staff was great and very professional. Every time I've had any contact with them, they have been amazing. The rooms were great from what I can see. I'm literally downstairs in their lobby and they've got their phone, doing the little virtual tour. They're actually showing me, in real time, the rooms and they looked great. They had a really nice setup there. They are so friendly, very, very kind and across the board.

Provider Response

Thank you Tammy for your kind words. We love having your sister here as part of the Plaza Village family. If you ever need anything please never hesitate to ask.

Plaza Village is a very nice place. The layout of the rooms was very good. I completely understand that the memory facility is a lot different setup than the assisted living side, and the rooms were good. I got to speak to three residents there and they seem to be happy and well taken care of. They had entertainment in the room where they have meals when I was there. It was a clean place and the residents appeared to be happy and very satisfied. The staff was nice. The only thing I wasn't impressed with in the memory care section was the wood dining table because for the amount that's being paid to them, I would think they would have a nicer-looking dining room table. You can see the wear and tear on the dining table.

Plaza Village Senior Living was very nice and clean. We liked it. There were a lot of shared bedrooms. They had quite a few activities listed, and they served three meals. The person who toured us did a very good job, and we enjoyed our visit with him.

My grandmother has been living in this facility for almost a year now. Angel, Elmer, Hugo, Tammy and Kelly have been wonderful. My grandmother has Alzheimer's and can be difficult to deal with at times. I really appreciate Russell her caregiver. He is the only one that she doesn't give a hard time to when it is shower day. They treat my grandmother like a member of their family. I don't know what we would have done without Plaza Village!

My tour at Plaza Village was fine. They have private and shared rooms and activities during the day. They play games like bingo, line dancing, and chair exercising. They have two TVs, one in the lounge area and one in the eating area. However, they need to improve on their cleanliness. Some of the staff seemed like they were just there for the job, although some of them seemed like they really cared about the residents.

My mom was at Plaza Village for 18 months. In the very beginning, it was great. When they sold out, everything went downhill. The floors were dirty, the carpets hadn’t been cleaned, the meals became smaller, and they didn’t do anything special for them anymore. They used to make them grilled cheese sandwich so they always had another option, and they cut that down. When she first went in, they would have weekly weight checks; they checked the residents’ weight and made sure that they were showering and that everything was getting cleaned on their body. When they sold out to the new company, they no longer did that, so people were losing weight, they were getting sick, and they really didn’t check on them until it got to be really bad. My mom started having behavioral issues where she was getting angry, but they didn’t tell me. It was so bad that she got severely violent with people, and they didn’t tell me that until she was standing out in the driveway one night screaming on her cell phone. They need to do better on the meals and the nursing staff. They need to have people 24/7 on every floor, not just in the locked facility; they need to have a resident available on every floor.

My dad is currently at Plaza Village. It stood out because of the way the rooms were laid out. It used to be a condominium building. Dad has his own bathroom in his room that looked pretty clean. It's probably the most affordable price of the places we saw. Dad is not fond of the food. There are a few activities but not a whole lot like in other places. The staff is very nice and quite pleasant. The amenities are quite nice. They have a library, a little game area, and an outdoor deck. There's a shared kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

He was like in just a room at Plaza Village, he went away and got lost, and now they put him in lockdown. You have to be escorted in and escorted out. The facility was really nice, and the food looked good. I was really upset as the other people do not like him; they don’t talk. He doesn’t have anybody to talk to. Everything was clean, and the people treated him kindly, and they cared. I saw the food; it was lunch, and it looked good to me.

The staff at Plaza Village was really nice. They have more activities there. I like the fact that they have more recreational facilities right there. You can go to a salon there. I swim a lot, so I like the pool. They have a big gymnasium and people teaching yoga. They also have hot therapy pool, which would be really nice. So they have more things that you could take part in, but it was more money. They had a separate, regular large dining room, and then they had a snack bar that you could go to at anytime for sandwiches. It is a large facility. They went from independent living, assisted living, and memory care. As you got older and dumber, you could transfer without having to move. Just move to a different room.

Plaza Village Senior Living is a fine place, but the only thing I didn’t like is that they don’t take the residents out because they were saying that at this time they are not at full capacity and don’t have the transportation right now. The rooms were okay, a little bit small, but it was fine. The staff were very nice, helpful, and friendly. They showed me around and I really had a nice tour. They took their time and they were also able to answer my questions. Overall, it was good.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I placed my mom at Plaza Village. It was an emergency for me at the time. It worked out, and so far so good. The place is clean, new, and inviting. It doesn't really look like old home or a senior living. It's open, it's airy, it's not gloomy, and it doesn't have odorous smell to it. They do have lots of activities like bingo, karaoke nights, and I think they even had a magician, so they have some entertainment. I live in Virginia and she's in California. I actually visited her recently. She looks healthy because of the environment. She was living in her house without the proper care, and she was tired, looked stressed and strained. But now she's on a schedule, she's eating three times a day, and she's getting her medicine. There's someone there 24 hours to watch her. The care for my mom is decent. And that's what I needed for her. However, they could get someone to come and clean the carpet. The carpet needs to be cleaned constantly. I know it doesn't have to be spectacular. And they're also having some difficulties with their paperwork. But hopefully they can get it together and maybe they could resolve some issues that they may have. But overall, the director is wonderful and the management is great. Some of the staff can work on it, but I know it's a challenging job. I wish the best for this company. It's fairly new, about two years old.
