I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into The Collier at Naples. We chose them because of the warmness when you first arrived there, the friendliness, the kindness, and the way the people work there. The sales rep, nurses, therapists, the chef, and even the maintenance people are kind, respectful, very pleasant, and very caring. They try to encourage my mom to do the activities, but she's 101, so they do what they want. My mom's apartment is very nice. I called my kids and told them to find me a place like that. They have libraries and a puzzle room and they're nicely done. The people are very pleasant. I like that they have activities posted up and they go by the rooms and tell them to go in and check on them. They have like the Valentine's Day thing. They have what they call the happy hour room, and they have bingo, movies, and all kinds of activities. It's nice. They can participate or not, which gives them the options, which is nice. But they keep their mind going and everything else. I have not tried their food but when they were serving that, it looked delicious.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father has moved into the Collier at Naples. The facility is very well maintained, and so far, everyone I've encountered is very friendly. I had lunch there, and lunch was good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean upon move in, and they helped hookup the TV. I had a problem with the bathroom door not closing and they took care of it right away. They seem to have a lot of activities. They play bingo. They had Christmas caroling the day I moved my dad in. They have a happy hour every day. My dad seems to have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner now, and seems to like it all, which is always very important to have good food. The dining area is clean and very well-maintained. It's around 15 minutes away from where I live and there's plenty of restaurants in the area. It's close to Downtown Naples. They have a beauty salon there. I believe there is a gym and there's a place for them to do physical therapy with the residents. They have a nice outdoor area for eating if the weather permits.

We looked at The Collier at Naples. I liked it. I thought it was very pleasant and clean. They had very nice rooms. It was very appealing. They seem to have a well-rounded program for the residents as far as activities and trips and things like that. They seem to have an active social calendar. Overall, the facility was very clean and modern. The rooms were okay. They were very well-appointed. My husband thought the facility smelled, though I didn't feel that way. My husband didn't like it at all.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband is currently at The Collier at Naples, which is an outstanding place. We're very pleased with everything there. I find the staff there to be outstanding, they're very caring, listen to you, and make the necessary improvements that you have discussed with them. They listen. All the workers there are cooperative and pleasant, so we're very happy with what's happening there. There are about 15 of them in his unit at the moment and they're all pretty happy, with each requiring a level of care. I like that it's a flat fee. The room was a studio, but they had large studios. You have an area for the bed, a nightstand, chair, and further into the room you have a bureau, a table, chairs, a refrigerator, a sink, and a large closet. There's a large bath with grab bars and everything. In the hallways, they also have those railings you can hold onto, and they have a living room with a large TV and a large dining room. They also have a hairdresser's room or salon, they have a card room, and they can all walk around so you don't feel confined at all. They have bingo, exercises, and once a month they have a birthday party for the whole place where whoever has a birthday there goes down and they have little cupcakes and ice cream and sodas for there. They had a Valentine's gathering, sometimes they'll have people come in and play music, and they have events, and movies, for the Catholics they have mass once a month, and they have ministers coming in to give them communion, and they also have other religious programs. They try to take care of everybody there so it's very good.

I visited The Collier at Naples. They have a full kitchen. It's very nice and homey. It's an older building, but it's neat and clean and has all kinds of amenities. They have a big exercise room with equipment and a movie theater, you can watch any time you want. You can go and ask for a movie you like to see. They have bingo, and group exercises with the staff. They have big birthday parties, and about seven people from there were over a hundred years old. I talked to the people, and they like it there. Their staff is very nice, too. I talked with a lot of people. If after independent living, you'll need assisted living, you don't have to move. In the same building, they just move you over to a smaller place if you need assistance, or you could stay if you want, you'll just pay more. The staff were busy. They were cleaning rooms and all that kind of stuff, but every one of them stopped and say hi, even the cleaning people, that was very nice. I saw the dining area. I talked to the chef; I didn't know she was the chef. It was afternoon, and the dining room was closed, which was around 3:30 PM. The dining room was dark, and she came out from the kitchen. I asked her how she likes it there, she said, "Well, I'm the chef and I have been here for 21 years. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't be here."

I went to The Collier at Naples. They were pleasant and it was a nice facility. The residents that I ran into seemed happy. The price point was comparable to other ones that I've been told about. It didn't seem quite as clean as I thought it should be, and I didn't really see too much going on. I think the residents were meeting in a bar for cocktails and that's the extent. They need to be upgrading the apartments themselves, painting just staying more current and up-to-date in their color schemes and choices, and replacement of carpet and that sort of stuff. It's an older community, so I know that they're revamping it. What I liked most about it was the friendly atmosphere.

I liked The Collier at Naples. I liked the rooms. The rooms were great. My daughter would have had an upgrade into a small suite that was nice. They were friendly. The unit is on the fourth floor though, so if our daughter wanted to go somewhere, she'd have to get on the elevator and go down. She would be on the fourth floor all the time. She wouldn't have a lot of opportunities to go places unless someone took her. Knowing how minimized staffing is, we knew that she wouldn't be going anywhere. We visited a library, they had arts and crafts that were going on while we were there, and they had a nice movie television kind of room with real comfy theater chairs. It was very nice. It's a high rise, so it's different than most of what I've seen and experienced. Their memory care is on the fourth floor, and I found that a little difficult to understand or whether that would work for her. You have to accept high-rise living and that's what it is. Every time you want to leave that floor, you have to get on and off an elevator with assistance. She would not be getting on the elevator and going somewhere herself. It was extremely clean. The outdoor itself was fine except they allow cigarette smoking there and I did not like that. There's not enough help in these places. If you want to go outside, you could wait all day for someone to take you out, and then when you get out, you could wait all day to get back in. You're dealing with a high-rise and I'm not sure that high-rise is the best thing in a nursing home. The fourth floor had wonderful suites. We could have had a suite for what we paid for a small bedroom, but it had a balcony on it. The balcony had been locked off, and I didn't like that at all.

The Collier at Naples was the one I liked the most at this time. I liked the location, the rooms, the atmosphere, and the staff. I think their staff is extremely qualified. The memory care is on a secure floor. The ratio from patient to staff is very good, and also it has a military kind of connection, and my husband is military. There were three choices of the rooms that you could take from. For memory care, it's more or less, giving them activities that stimulate their memories. So they have that throughout the day, not just with therapy, but with socialization. I thought they had a very good program going on. They have nurses on site. I'm going back there today. The facility is very nice.

I have been working with he staff at the Collier at Naples for over a month and I can not say enough about them! Scott and Richard are absolutely amazing! My mother has been there for a few weeks now and I can honestly say that I am sleeping better at night knowing that she is in great hands. I highly recommend this facility and the staff again, Scott and Richard, have gone above and beyond to make my mother comfortable and safe!

The Collier at Naples looks nice. What I was drawn to is the people, the personalities, the interaction between the caretakers and the clients. The clients all seemed engaged and active and interacting with the caretakers, and there were no people alone in their rooms, or alone anywhere. They were all engaged and they all appeared happy. They have gardening, they have a lot of art and craft projects, I think they play some form of ball with a balloon and things like that. The staff seemed sharp, intelligent, personable, warm, engaged, and very happy and upbeat. What I saw and heard about the food, it sounded pretty good. We looked at transitions care, between assisted living and memory care. It’s more assistance than assisted living, but less than total non-functioning memory care. They don’t have sufficient outdoor space; otherwise I would give it a 5.

The Collier at Naples was very nice and the staff was very outstanding, but it was a very old building, and I'm not happy with how it's presented. I visited everything about the place. They should build a new building. It's in the middle of an industrial complex so there's no outside areas or outside activities. There are businesses on both sides of the community so they can't build outside amenities. It looks like an institution.

My husband has moved in. His memory is OK, but he can't be in and out of bed by himself. He needs two people. The place looks good. They are taking good care of him. I can't complain about anything. The people are very nice. Everything is clean. My husband is not really a joiner as far as activities go, and the people around him are really out of it. He can't really carry on a conversation with anybody there, so he just likes to go back to his room and watch TV.

I like it very much. I was very impressed by the scheduled activities for the residents. The residents were sitting around in a circle singing Christmas carols; it was very sweet. They have a whole list of different all-day-long activities for the residents. They have a lot more to do for the people than they do at the other places. The rooms are nice. I like the staff members very much. They have a bar, lots of activity rooms, and craft rooms. They are very well done. I am impressed with the whole place.

The rooms were small, and they didn’t seem to have too much land around it. It wasn’t on the top of my list. They had a theater, a game room, and they do arts and crafts. I saw a studio, a 1-bedroom, and a 2-bedroom. I could not live in the studio; it was too small. The common areas were fine, and the dining area was very nice.

My mom is currently on the waiting list. I think it’s a great and very beautiful facility. The people there are just amazing and very friendly like they have known you forever. I had a couple of tours, and I took my mom for lunch on a tour. They have what she needs at assisted living and may transition to memory care later; I think it’s a very good set. The room and dining room were very beautiful, the food was good, and the service was excellent.
