I am a friend or relative of a resident
We visited Elmcroft. I like it very much. I was talking to one woman who lived there, and I asked her if she knew a friend of ours, and she said she knows everybody there. I like that, and we live right next door. I like everything about it. I like the homey atmosphere and the décor of the whole place, but I did feel the rooms were a little small. They gave me a copy of their calendar, and it was amazing. That would be what I would enjoy a lot: the activities. Every day, there is something.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We have a friend who lives there, and we take him to church. One day, he was ill, we took him home early, and I went in with him to explain what had happened, and the person we talked to was very sympathetic and helpful.

We have placed my mom at Elmcroft. She has been there now for 2 months, and she is adjusting very well. It's a very nice place. It has a memory care unit, and my mom has Alzheimer's. Everyone is really good. I have been there when they served lunches, and they looked really good, but I've never eaten there. Mom has gained 11 lbs since she's been there, so I take it the food is good. It's a 1-bedroom apartment and it has a restroom in it. It doesn't have a shower because of her having Alzheimer's and the hot water issue, but it has a bathroom in the room. We got it as small as we could because smaller is better for her.
I wish that there was a little bit more activities, but they keep them very busy. She loves all the activities. They have movies almost every day, and they play bingo. They have trivia and exercise class. They go for van rides. All the help is very nice, and she loves it. There's really nothing I didn't like about it. I hate to move her, but it's going to happen sooner or later because she will have to do the Medicaid thing and they don't offer it at Elmcroft.
