The website does not reflect what the actual services and staff do for residents and families. Have allot of patience when trying to get through on the phones. Most of the staff ihave no manners at all. Hang ups and no answer are common. Not family friendly at all. I fell asleep and now am on probation for visitation, although I am the only family member. Lacking in communication 90% . Deeply regret this placement for my mother. Also way too top dollar!

I had a friend that lived up at Vineyard Park of Mountlake Terrace, so I was in and out of there all the time. The last time I was there was a year and a half ago. It's an assisted living community. It was like independent living, except for lots of help that came in and out the door because she needed help dressing and undressing, and showering. She needed help with her medication as well. She was in a cute little apartment and to me, she got a high level of care because she needed a lot of help. They did a wonderful job. The main floor had a huge lobby. There was an office off to the right and then a receptionist. Farther back was kind of like a family room with a TV. They had a little shop there where they sold crocheted items and things that people made. To the left, was a little hallway and the mailroom. Then there was a big lovely dining room with good food there too. I ate there a couple of times. There were elevators and I think it was 3-stories tall because my friend lived on the second floor and I'm pretty sure there was another floor above that. As far as I know, they were all apartments. At one time, on the second floor, there was a beauty shop, and probably still is. There was a room with a computer in it and maybe some books. I don't remember if it was a library, but I know they could go in there and use the computer if they didn't have their own. They had a recycling room where they take and drop their garbage. My friend had a walker and so she didn't do much walking down the hall with her recyclables. I felt like I saw every square inch of the main floor. They had a calendar of activities on the wall of the elevator that I read every time I went and I went at least once a week. They were just full of good stuff. They had excursions to 2 grocery stores and they went to other things too.

My mother moved into Vineyard Park of Mountlake Terrace. I went in and met with their director who gave me the tour, she was very knowledgeable, and gave me some good advice. She met with my mom after I had viewed the unit, and my mom really wasn't wanting to move, but after she toured it with that specific woman, she ended up writing a check that day, so the whole experience of getting her to make the decision to move was probably the best experience. It's a clean facility. I have no problems with that. They go and clean her room once a week. It always smells nice there and everybody's friendly.

My loved one moved in to VP several years ago by choice. It was and continues to be a well-cared for building. There is a full activities calendar, an engaging lobby with a large piano that is occasionally played. There is variety in the meals. The rooms are modern. However, many of the staff or either unhelpful, unkind, or downright rude. The receptionist is unprofessional, both her presentation on the phone and has mocked at least two residents in my presence. Repeatedly I have made requests to include extended family on mailing lists for events or activities- that did not happen. The nursing staff is a mixed bag - some are quite kind while at least one has gone out of her way to tell me how my loved one has become a burden. The director does not respond to email or phone requests. My loved one feels that issues presented to the director are brushed off or ignored all together. At this point in time my loved one is terribly disillusioned with the facility.

Vineyard Park at Mountlake Terrace had a lot of good activities. It was new and beautiful, but it didn't have the warm and small home-like atmosphere that we were looking for.

This place is appealing to the eye. Most everyone there is very friendly. They do have lots of activities for those who wish to participate. Down fall is... once your dementia starts getting worse and you require more care, its hard to come by. They do not have the staff for it. You ring your buzzer for help and it can easily be 20-40 minutes and one time that I know of not at ALL..... This is not ok when this person is a high fall risk or cannot wait that long to go to the toilet. I felt like lots of non communication with the RN here. When I complained about things they all had a non caring attitude and said they would talk to so and so about it. Too many little constant things to complain about. Try to call a staff member at night.. what a joke. very frustrating when your loved one is calling you and telling you they dont come to buzzer and I cant even call someone to get them help. Also parking is terrible . A tiny parking lot and residents and staff members also use it. Frequently go for visits or to pick up and cannot park. I can list many negative things but will stop at this. Bottom line is .... If you are able to take care of yourself or require just little assistance this is a great place. but don't let them fool you like they did us that they can care for your loved one at all levels of care. this just is not true.
