My mother-in-law is in Academy House Assisted Living Homes. It’s a little community and it’s nicely kept up. There are only about 6 patients in there and they get a lot of personal attention so she does very well there. The staff was very nice; the girls working in there seemed excellent and caring. They had lots of nurses coming in and helping my mother-in-law trying to get her to walk.
They have a nice patio on the back. They’re nice little rooms and they keep them clean. The rooms are half the price of most nursing homes so I think it’s very good value. I was real pleased with it.
I did not try the food but the ladies were cooking when I went there and it smelled good. They give them a bigger lunch and a lighter supper. My mother-in-law seems to like the food. It didn’t seem like a lot going on when I was there and most of them seemed to be watching television. I believe they told me they have a guy that comes to play guitar.
