I am a friend or relative of resident

Currently this facility is operating with insufficient staff members. Here are some of the examples that my family has encountered when going to visit our Grandmother in this facility. Medication Aides do not have adequate training. Many of the staff that this facility has placed in charge of giving medications to residents have not been properly trained to do so. Also the Medication Aides are responsible for doing every other job in the building. Resident care, dining room and kitchen responsibilities, laundry, housekeeping, receptionist and any other tasks that are needed due to lack of staff. Currently this facility holds 36 residents and there are only 2 staff members on at any given time. I believe this is not a safe practice when giving medications. The Med. Aides are not able to focus on their job and errors in giving proper medication at correct times are being made. This could result in grave circumstances for the residents. Most recently, one of the Medication Aides was used as the facility cook when the other Part Time cook left. The current Full Time cook is not concerned with residents dietary needs or requests. He is running a factory production food line. If a resident does not like or can not eat the main meal that was prepared, the only alternative that is given is a bowl of cold cereal or a grilled cheese sandwich. This is the only sustenance some residents are being fed. If a resident cannot feed their self, the food is left in front of them with no assistance offered to feed them. They are just told repeatedly to "Eat" when a Resident Aide passes by. The Residents must be at the dining room at appointed times or the F/T cook becomes enraged with the rest of the staff. He has no consideration for the elderly. It is a rushed situation with a do it now attitude. There is no consideration for these people who need more time to function with daily living. And no staff to assist them for more than five minutes of the day, due to the minimal staff that are working and preforming every job in the building. Many of the residents complain about their diet and lack of help they receive from staff. But no resolution to any of these problems are being addressed by Administration.. Also other staff members are being used as Resident Aides. Recently they have pulled a housekeeper from her duties and used her as a Resident Aide. She has not been trained as a Resident Aide. She is going only by what she has seen and other staff members have told her to do. Residents are not being showered or cleaned. Some of the rooms and residents reek of urine and bowel movements. There are at least 10 residents that should not be in a minimal assistance facility such as this because they require full care that would be found in a nursing home facility that was operating with more staff. One last issue I would like to raise, on Thursday 4/23/2015 on the 10PM - 6AM shift, a Medication Aide was left by herself to watch over and manage the entire facility. No other staff members were present. The Administration was not able to get any other staff to come in to work the Resident Aide position. So instead of covering it them self, they let one person try to manage the entire facility. I believe this is a very unsafe practice. What if there was an emergency situation or something had happened to the Aide that was on? There are many problems at this facility that are being passed over by the Adminstration and the parent company they are under Enlivant. We are currently looking for another facility to move our Grandmother to and hope to accomplish this ASAP. However I feel that some sort of inspection from the State of Texas needs to be conducted to ensure the rest of the residents that have no voice and are powerless to change their situation get the help they deserve and are paying for be provided.

The menu posted that probably goes to the state to show what they feed the residence is not what is served on a regular basic. I understand it is subject to change but serving sandwiches for the amount paid is not acceptable. Received sandwiches for dinner four out of five night week of 12/7/14.

My mother has been living in Bradfield for two years now. The facility is clean. The people working there are really nice. They clean her room once a week, and the room is nice. It is air-conditioned, carpeted, and has a nice walk-in shower. I’ve eaten there three times, and the food is pretty good.

Horrible, horrible "assisted living" community. We signed my grandfather up here after being told he would receive optimum care and comfort both of which were lies to get our $. We paid for the "highest level of care" which was supposed to include bathing and helping him with meals which they did neither. My mother had to bathe him herself and hire OUTSIDE HELP to come in and bathe him. He fell a total of SIX times while in their care and ended up only living there for 2 weeks because he had to be transported via ambulance to the ER after a serious fall. My grandfather has since passed away and months later we are still receiving bills for months we "owe" when he never even lived there! DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THIS FACILITY.
