The people at Farmington fell in love with my father. The caregivers are wonderful, the move-in process was easy, in the care he receives is top notch.

Dora and get staff made the move fast and easy. I had so many questions and concerns and my phone calls and emails are always answered promptly by the staff person knowledgeable about it. Dora and get staff seem to understand that I am transitioning too. They made a difficult decision easier as I knew my friend would be safe and well cared for. My friend says everyone is nice, there is lots to do and she got to take her dog with her when she moved. The outside area is big and allows for walking the dog and has seating to visit and enjoys the beautiful trees.

Overall, we were impressed with Farmington Square Medford. We liked the staff that we met with and liked the facility. My wife was very much leaning towards going there. The staff, Theresa, she was very helpful and very knowledgeable. She walked us through everything in the facility that we asked about, answered all our questions, and I followed up with emails with her since we left. So, she was very helpful. I don't believe they had a salon. They had a nice outdoor area. It's a very nice street, a very nice community with very clean, big trees. The facility itself is really nice. They're set up in separate cottages where it goes up to 20 people in each cottage. They have four cottages; and what they call cottages is they have separate bedrooms with a big living area. So, they have their activities room where they were doing games, puzzles, and watching TV. I think they even had music stuff going on in there as well. It was nice. We're considering putting my mom in a semi-private, which would be a roommate. What we liked about this facility is there was an island, a divider

I am a friend of a resident at Farmington, and I have made it my habit to visit my friend once or twice per week. I visit unannounced, on different days, at different times. Although the exterior of this facility is well kept, the same cannot be said of the resident's or their rooms. Unfortunately, my friend's labeled personal bedding and bath towels have gone missing. Her bathroom is dirty with caramelized soap, and toothpaste, and it is not unusual to find wet, used towels on the floor and in the shower stall. The toilet is black under the inside rim, and there are usually spots of urine and fecal mater on the toilet seat. Her bed tray, clothing, and pillows are crusted with dried food. Dirty dishes are left behind. Lint, food, and stray clothing litter the sticky floor. My friend is in "hospice" and she needs assistance to drink, but straws have not been provided by Farmington, so I brought straws for her to use. The only time a straw is placed in her water glass is when I place it there. Yesterday, when I complained to staff. The aide said, "I didn't know she had straws." And then he proceeded to ask me about an opened, container of yogurt left on my friend's bed tray. He wanted it fed to her roommate. I was taken aback. Meanwhile, my friend was laying uncovered on a urine soaked bed in a dirty shirt and wet adult diaper. The day before yesterday, my friend held my hand and asked me, "why.....why.....why.......I don't understand......it doesn't make sense." I have to agree.

When my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2012, I began a search for local assisted living facilities. I wanted to have a good sense of what was out there so that when time came and he would need one, I would not have to start from scratch. I visited several and was most pleased with Farmington Square. During the summer of 2014, when I realized I could no longer care for him, I did a re-visit of those same facilities and came away feeling Farmington was still the best place for him. He has been there for almost 3 years now and I am very pleased with the care he is receiving. During those years, a new executive director and assistant director were appointed and the changes have been profound. John is well cared for, much loved, and safe in the facility. The staff is also very attentive to my concerns and questions. I feel fortunate to have him in such a compassionate and well-run environment. Big thank you to everyone at Farmington Square.

Our visit at Farmington Square was informative. The staff was great and not staffed by high school girls. They had long-time employees with good hearts. There was just something I could not put my finger on. I couldn’t see my husband staying there. There were a number of apartments: studio, one-bedroom, and shared room, where there was a half wall in the middle, so two people would share the same space but on opposite side of the rooms. She said that people don’t see each other in that type of setup. It was more of an assisted place.
