I visited this facility

I went to look at Woodland Heights. I love the staff. The administration that I met was very helpful. I like the cleanliness and independence that they offer to their clients. The hallways were very wide and didn't have a lot of obstacles there to hurt yourself.

I visited this facility

I visited Woodland Heights and it seemed to fit my father and his lifestyle the best. It was a very active community. It seemed to be full of younger retirees. The apartments had a full kitchen, bedrooms, a walk-in closet, and a balcony. It had a beautiful view overlooking the city because it's located high on a cliff that overlooks Little Rock. It's very beautiful and the staff was very warm, engaging, knowledgeable, and sympathetic.

I visited this facility

I toured Woodland Heights. They're remodeling some apartments that I might be interested in. It's a very pretty place. They've got friendly people. They have all the things that you would need. The only thing you have to pay for is your television service. I saw a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom. I'm going to look at two more next week. There will be two bedrooms, but they'll be larger than the one I looked at yesterday, at the same price. The staff was nice, very accommodating, and very friendly. They showed me the whole building and all that they have to offer. They have a library. They have a lady onsite that does exercise programs. They have a book club, two meals a day, and snacks, they have different get-togethers that you can participate in if you want to, and they have a happy hour before dinner in the evening. They have a religious service on Friday and Sunday. There are several things that you can participate in that are strictly up to you. It was very clean.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into Woodland Heights. So far, the people have been very helpful. The facility is very clean. I love all the activities that they offer. They have just been really nice and accommodating. I heard that they have a chair yoga, and they seem to play quite a few things. My mom loves the apartment. She is on sixth floor, and she loves the view. She just moved in, but they sent a social statement right away. I'm sure it's going to be fine. I know that they take them grocery shopping once a week. My sister lives right down the street, but I'm pleased that they offer it. My mom gets rides from her doctor's office, and it is really accessible for her to get down to a ride.

This is a horrible place, in my opinion and experience. A friend is there now and I visit regularly. She is not being cared for. A person would be arrested if they treated a dog like this. Shame on you.

Provider Response

Hi Alphonsine, we can assure you that we do not find this type of behavior acceptable, and we would like to address the situation you have described. Please reach out to us when you can so we can address this situation directly. Thank you and have a great day.

I visited this facility

Woodland Heights was very professionally run. We toured the memory care and it was very clean. The staff was very friendly. They all greeted me with a nice smile. I was shown a semi-private room and a private one, and they were large and nicely arranged. The atmosphere was friendly from the front door all the way through the tour. They were busy with games when we were there. So, I was very pleased with what I saw.

I visited this facility

We toured Woodland Heights. It is extremely clean. They offer all the services we were looking for and more. The staff sold it for us. They were amazing. The size of the apartment, the bathroom, and the accessibility, all of that was just fantastic. The apartment had very large windows, so it felt very bright. I wanted a very small kitchen space because I don't want my father-in-law to have a lot of room to cook or to keep things. And the bathroom was the best of what we saw as far as access in and out of the shower with not stepping over anything and having lots of rooms and lots of hand bars. The bedroom had windows as well as the living room, and that was nice, too. They showed us the entire facility like all the dining rooms, the barbershop, the PT facilities, and the party room. It was very updated, nice, and classy. My husband and I are possibly moving to Northwest Arkansas, and Woodland Heights has a sister location there. They have facilities up there as well as at Little Rock. If we were to move, we could just transfer my father-in-law with us, which would be awesome. The fact that they had facilities in other locations was a big deciding factor as well. The location, the staff, the layout, and the rooms were the best. The directors communicating with us and following up and asking questions have just been impressive. Overall, they make me feel like they care the most because they have reached out and asked every question. They have just been wonderful.

My father has moved into Woodland Heights. He's on the independent floor. The people there are super nice and helpful. There are several activities to help him throughout the day that he can engage in and make new friends. He's having a wonderful time. It's a nice, cute little place and everybody is just so warm, welcoming, and friendly. They're very easy to contact and get in touch with and help you with any of your needs, filling out paperwork, locating a room, and helping the community. He gets two meals a day instead of three though. It's an older facility. It's not one of these brand-new ones. They have happy hour, painting classes, yoga, and chair aerobics. They have just so many activities for them.

I visited this facility

We visited Woodland Heights and it was good. The facilities look nice and bright. There's a lot of sunlight that gets in, and I liked that the flooring has been switched over to hardwood flooring types, not carpets. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did not try the food. I liked best all the sunlight that gets in the skylights and stuff because it was much brighter and well-lit than some of the places we have been in. Their outdoors was pretty, and there were several different floors that you can access, like outside walking paths because of the hills and stuff. Also, they've updated most things, so it all looks fresh and new. They have a pool for physical therapy and stuff.

I visited this facility

Woodland Heights was amazing. The staff who helped me was outstanding and extremely helpful. She's been following up with me constantly. My parents went to see the facility two or three times. I personally love it. We looked at the independent living facility, and we looked at a two-bedroom with two baths. They are a great size with large balconies and a great view. It was very clean. They have an indoor swimming pool and water aerobics every Saturday, which I thought was amazing. On the premises, they have physical therapy. They had designated things for the ladies to do and an area for the men to hang out. I loved it because it didn't feel like an older people's home. I really enjoyed it. They had an event when we were there, and the food was great.

I visited this facility

I toured Woodland Heights, it's luxurious. The apartments were spacious, they had a large walk-in closet, and they also all had a balcony or a place where you could sit outside. They provide you with meals, and they have a full kitchen, while the other place we saw only had a breakfast area, not a full kitchen. It's at 900 square feet, which is almost double the space compared to the other place. There's also a lot more activity here and more people were out visiting with one another. There seem to be more people out gathering. The dining area was very nice. They provide linen service, and they have a washer and dryer so you can go use it. They do not provide cable or wifi, so we'd have to pay for that, but it was very nice. They had an operating salon, they had a library area, a game area, and they also had a pool, and a hot tub. The maintenance of the place is excellent, it's very clean.

Woodland Heights is kind of an apartment setting. It's just pretty. I've had some friends that have had some parents there, and they liked it, too. The rooms were very nice and the staff who toured me around was wonderful. It's Christmas time, so everything was very festive-looking. Everything was brand new, and my mom is going to have a balcony in her apartment. She will be on the third floor and she will have a wonderful view. It just made her happy, so it makes me happy. They have dining rooms, and there's even one on the third floor for her, so she doesn't have to walk to the main one. It's very nice, spacious and looks very clean and pretty. As far as activities, they have a whole list of it posted all over the walls and the elevators. One day, they had a Christmas Carol and somebody was playing the piano. They also have a happy hour every afternoon, an exercise room, paintings, and all kinds of games (I think they have a big bridge playing card game.)

My great aunt moved into Woodland Heights and it's good. Everyone is very friendly, we like the food, and it seemed like a nice facility. They have a fitness center, they have a pool, and they have a hair salon. They take them to the store, they have activities, and they take them to eat and to shopping.

My mom moved into Woodland Heights. We chose it because they have a larger apartment and a full kitchen. The staff is very friendly and very efficient. My mom said the food is really good. The condition of everything is really good as far as the building. We haven't really used any of the amenities because of COVID, and now they're into another lockdown. They did have housekeeping that came by. Everything is a good size, the dining room is a lot bigger, the building is pretty well laid out. As far as going to her apartment, it's easy to find, and you don't get lost in the building.

I moved into Woodland Heights, and I'm very happy there. My apartment is very nice, it's 2-bedroom with a kitchenette, has a nice view at the back of trees turning colors, and I like the dining room, so I'm happy. The staff has all been very polite, very helpful, and willing to listen to what you have to say. Because of COVID everything has been locked down, the library has been closed, the hair salon and nail salon has been closed, and I have to wait until things open back up, and be able to utilize these things. The location is fine, I don't drive, they have shuttle service, and so I'm quite happy with that.

I saw all the levels of care of Woodland Heights. It was too independent and too high functioning for my mother. The rooms were very homey, very spacious and well laid out. The person who assisted me was pretty occupied though. I didn't observe any activities, too. They had a barber shop, a piano, and a bar.

We were very pleased with Woodland Heights. Part of it was location, and we can visit more often. My cousin has a nice room that's very convenient and a nice size. It's only one room, but it has a refrigerator and a kitchenette. They seem to take good care of him. It's not really new, but it has a "new" feel to it. They even have a happy hour. I've eaten with him a couple of times, and I thought the food was very good. I'm welcome to eat when I want to, or with any family or friends. They have their own little dining area for extended care assisted living. The marketing person is excellent, and went above and beyond to get us a room. They have bingo, singers coming in, and arts and crafts.

Woodland Heights' rooms were good. It was a very nice, new, and up-to-date facility. The staff was very friendly and professional. The place is very clean and I saw a library, a church, a meditation room where they do exercises, a game room, and they have a lot of activities. I also saw a swimming pool and the van or bus which takes them places.

I’m very pleased with Woodland Heights. Everything can be done under one roof; you don’t have to leave because everything is taken care of here. All the meals are provided, and there is a room that is open 24/7 that has milk, fruit, and things you can get for your room. You don’t have to cook here if you don’t want to, but you do have a full kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Transportation is available if you want to go to a doctor’s appointment.

We chose Woodland Heights because they had a two bedroom available for mom and dad. They had been there a month and every morning they could call my parents and make sure they are okay. When they go in for meals for the first two weeks, they assigned them to different hosts so that they always had somebody to eat with. Those were the two things I was really impressed with. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. They have two bedroom, two bath, and they have a full kitchen. They also have a patio outside their apartment. Mom and dad love the food and they have been very happy with it. They have variety of foods to choose from. They have three different entrees and they also have soup and salad always. They do shopping, go to field trips, and they also transport them to doctor's visit. They also have a heated swimming pool on site.

I'm going to move into Woodland Heights. The main reason I'm moving there is because there is an indoor saltwater swimming pool, which is what I need to exercise and there are a lot of other amenities. I have a studio apartment and I'll get a discount because I'm a teacher. The dining room looks really good and they serve different types of breakfast. They have a very nice library. The staff that I talked to was very helpful and the people there are very nice. It's been a very pleasant experience.
