My sister is at Desert Peaks Assisted Living and Memory Care. I haven't found anything not to like. The people who interact with the patients are very caring and very personable. They treat them with utmost respect, and they do all they can to make them feel that this is their community. The rooms are wonderful. Every room that we saw was completely sanitized, repainted, and redecorated everything before they moved in, so it looks like a brand-new place. They were very helpful because we couldn't get a move or schedule for when my sister was going to move in, so they actually came and picked up her furniture and put it in place. I've had several meals there with her, and the food is restaurant style. It is very good and very nourishing. They have activities all day long. They have a puzzle room. They have people come in and talk to them. I live in Florida and we just came back yesterday. The day before we left, they had a lady musician who came in, and she played the ukulele and sang songs with them. It was really nice. They have scheduled four or five special activities, a couple in the morning, and most of them in the afternoon. Every Friday they have a get-together, and they make it very special. They get everybody together, they have drinks of their choice for them, a party, the whole routine, and then dinner. It's about an hour-and-a-half to two-hour affair, and everybody joins in. They have plenty to do. From what I've seen, it's a very good value.

My wife is in Desert Peaks Assisted Living and Memory Care. What I've seen of the care that the staff is giving is very good. The facility is quite clean. Her apartment is clean and it's being kept clean. It's good and the hallways and all that stuff are nice. I've been in the dining room, and it looked very good, but I've not used it. My wife is stuck on the bed, and she eats in her room. Communication is good. When I have questions, they respond quite quickly. The staff members are cheerful and talk with my wife. I enjoy talking with them too as far as that goes.

My mother has moved into Desert Peaks Assisted Living and Memory Care. What's best about them is their staff and just how easy they've been to work with. Another reason we like them is that they will let you put your own furniture in the room and make them the way that you like them. Her room is not a big room by no means, but it's got everything that she needs. We're working on bringing the rest of her stuff over there. So we like that. I've only eaten one meal there, and I have been with my mother for quite a few of her meals there. I think the quality is good. There's not a big variety as far as choices like some of the other places I toured. But my mom is not too picky, so she is going to like something that they serve for sure. For activities, they just had a St. Patrick's Day party with a lot of little prizes they gave out for different things, and they do bingo and crossword puzzles and a couple of other games. The other thing I liked about them is they have a good outdoor patio that's all fenced in. It's really big, and they have a yard with flowers, rose bushes, and that kind of stuff. It's built in a square. All the inside rooms look into another outdoor area where they keep turtles and stuff, so I kind of like those things, too. It's an older place and it's not as snazzy as a few of the others I looked at as far as decoration and stuff. But I'm more concerned about the health care and the staff than the decorations. And in terms of value for money, they're the most reasonable than most that I found.

The people at Desert Peaks Assisted Living and Memory Care were very friendly and accommodating. They have a beauty salon for the ladies and haircut services for men. The staff who did the tour was pretty good. The facility was just kind of old and the location was not very good at all. The memory care room was shared with two people and it was very small. So, it was not anything that I would consider for my loved one.

We had my mom at Desert Peaks' assisted living first, then they had to move her to their memory care. So far, I don't have anything to complain about because they've been wonderful. She's been having trouble adjusting. They've had to take her to the hospital several times for infusions, and they've notified me of all instances that happened to her. The staff is wonderful. Communication has been kind of difficult because there's one number. After the first time she went to the hospital, I kept calling to get a hold of the director, and for someone to give me information. My mom went on Saturday night, and Monday I finally got some feedback. Someone answered and told me that it was the director's last day and I didn't realize it. I was a little bit upset about that since I called her all weekend, but she's no longer with the company. The new girl, Jana, who's the wellness director, has been really good at communicating with me. I haven't tried them but they serve nutritional and balanced meals. The facility itself is very homey and clean. I researched several other facilities, and this one was comparable or lower to the rates I found. I'm satisfied with it. They have a salon, but I don't know if it's open again because of the COVID. They do laundry too.

What I like about Desert Peaks was that the area was beautiful. It had a preview of the mountain. I like that if you want to be out, you could enjoy it. It was great. The problem was that it was quite a distance from the doctor's and quite a distance from the cancer center. They were nice people. They called and wanted to make sure they had good follow-through. The apartments were nic and the staff was nice. The place was peaceful. It was out of town so it had a nice ambience. The dining area was nice. I love the patio facility, which was really nice.
