I visited this facility
Everything is great at Solterra At White Mountains. The facilities are wonderful. The staff is very helpful. We actually met with one of the directors of the community, and she was very helpful with the information. The facilities are beautiful. The eating facility and health care are wonderful. They offer assisted living and memory care facility. There are plenty of activities both onsite and offsite. They provide transportation for offsite activities. We were not able to try the food, but the people that we talked to all liked it. They have single-living accommodations, studio apartments, and they have where you have a roommate. They have all different levels of housing. That’s the most they have though, either single or you have one roommate, so it is more intimate that way. They only do assisted living and memory care, so anything more than that, they don’t provide. But it is a really beautiful facility. As far as cost, I thought they were very comparable to everything else that we were able to talk to. I thought their prices were more reasonable. We were impressed with it. My mother-in-law even said she herself would live there.

I am/was a resident of this facility
I'm currently at Solterra Senior Living. Everything is fine. It is a great place. I'm in an apartment, and it is very nice. The staff is wonderful. The food is fine too. I visited several others but this is the one I chose.

Solterra was more expensive, and it was lovely. Their apartments were a little larger and maybe a little more luxurious, but they were very nice. They had a gymnasium there, they serve meals at a cost, and they did have cleaning facilities once a week for a price. As far as appearance is concerned, it is a five. We have people here who used to live there, and they said it was very nice, but it was just too expensive.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
We have an elderly family who lives at Solterra now. It became difficult for family to go to her home to make sure she was taken care of and had everything she needed. She was beginning to have a harder time getting around, so she needed someone to help her with shopping and chores.Solterra is a nice facility, and offers one- and two-bedroom apartments that have everything you could want in a home but smaller, including a kitchen. Residents can choose how much to let the staff help them or not, which gives residents the freedom to be as independent as they like. They offer meals to the residents for free or extremely affordable rates. We ate with our relative on one occasion in their dining room, and although the service can be slow at times, the food was quite good!Since our family member moved in, she has become more active and social with other people, and it shows when we visit her. She has new stories to tell and things going on that she didn't used to when she lived at home alone. They have parties and events from time to time, and hold religious services for those who can't get out as easily. There is even an in-house beauty parlor! They also offer to arrange transportation for doctors visits, and make weekly trips to local shopping (although I'm sure if the need arose, they'd take someone to the store other times as well). The staff has always been very friendly to us and to our relative every time we visit (and we have been by many times). They seem to keep check of who comes and goes, and they remember the family connections. They seem to take good care of the property, and everything looks so clean in the communal areas and hallways. Whenever there is an issue, they take care of it in a timely manner, and they have good plans for evacuation in case of disaster. They check on the residents daily, just to see how they're doing. It gives us great peace of mind to know that if her heat goes out in winter, someone is on it immediately, or if something happens, someone will be there to know right away.

This is a nice 3 story facility with 141 apartments. The building and grounds are well maintained. They have lots of trees, greenery and mountain views.
The one bedroom assisted living have partial kitchens. They are handicapped equipped and have a call system. Utilities and basic cable is included. They have balconies. They offer housekeeping and linen service.
They serve three restaurant style meals and snacks with daily specials in their dining room. The food is very good.
They have several common sitting areas, a library and activity room. It is a nicely decorated decor.
They do indepent, assisted, and memory care. They have a registered nurse and 2 LPNs there about 15 hours a day and on call. All caregivers are certified. They transport to doctor appointments for an extra fee. The staff seems caring and friendly.
They do all sorts of daily activities including an exercise program, bingo, entertainment, parties, cookouts, and holiday celebrations. They go out on picnics and to the lake in the summer. They go to Walmart shopping on Wednesday and out to other community events.
They have a courtyard for walking and sitting.
This is a very nice community facility,
