We went to Good Samaritan Village at Kissimmee. I liked the inside of the building a lot. The people were pretty nice. The guy I spoke with was wonderful and very, very caring. I just didn't like everything outside. It's too plain. The inside was perfect. The people were perfect. The facility was very nice. I would like to see some flowers outside.

We moved into Good Samaritan Village at Kissimmee. They have a park, a mobile home, and high rises. You could work your way up from independent living to assisted living. They also have a nursing home and rehab here. They have everything, like shopping centers just outside the gate. You can use a golf cart to get there. You don't need a car. Everything is good. They're just going through a little bit of a transition from the flooding of the hurricane, but they're still here. There is nothing like this in the area. The staff members are so helpful. They have two restaurants on the property, and they are awesome. They have a swimming pool and a hot tub. They have things going on every day, like bingo, and that's open to the public, too. They have transportation, which is a blessing. They go to the mall three times a week. It's very affordable for anyone.

I moved to Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village and I love it here. It's a place of enjoyment, full of activities. It's a beautiful place to be. I can cook my own meals, I can purchase meal tickets, or I can go to the cafe or the dining hall, and they're reasonably priced. I have a 1-bedroom apartment with a living room, a terrace, a bathroom, and a kitchen. The staff has been wonderful. There is an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor swimming pool, and a wellness center, and we have all kinds of activities here. There is a golf course, tennis courts, transportation to different local stores, and regularly planned trips. My window overlooks a beautiful grand oak tree. The landscaping is very well-kept and nice. It's just a lovely place to live.

My mom lived there for 10 years, she passed we cleaned the apartment at great expense, 2 weeks after we turned in the keys and notified them, they charged her account rent, rather then returning it to the account they issued a refund to the estate, there is no estate, yes we should have planned better but we planned on no estate, but when asking for help and just reversing the charge to the account, they said, call and lawyer and sue us, good luck. So much for the Lutheran christian mentality and sympathy, they worship the dollar. I'll be monitoring to make sure it shows in abandon property over the next years.

Their phone system is always broken. One department doesn't know what the other department is doing. Either they don't know or don't care or both. They don't return emails or phone calls. We moved our family member out.

We visited Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village in person. We saw the clubhouse, and it's like 522 acres. It's a whole village. It's very neat and clean, and they had a very caring staff. The staff was incredible. We took a tour, and he put us in the golf cart, and we went to two different apartment setups. The rooms were wonderful and had a good setup. I was interested in it because it's closer to my children and it's Christian. In the apartment itself there's a microwave, icemaker, some have washing machine and dryer hook-ups, and cable. On the grounds itself, they have an indoor swimming pool with a lift in it. They have an outdoor swimming pool, golf, rehab center that anybody can go to if they come out of the hospital and they need help for a while, they have a small hospital there, a nursing home, assisted living, tennis, veterans park, two restaurants, and laundry facilities in every neighborhood. There are 14 neighborhoods there. They have condos, studio apartments, mobile homes, manufactured homes, an amphitheater, and a church.

We lived in Good Samaritan Village at Kissimmee for 9 months. They were not really honest with us. They told us they only had a big place open at $2500 a month, we couldn't afford that, so I went around and looked and found one at $1500 a month, and it was right around the corner. The staff was 3 stars. They provide games, programs, they take you around in a bus, every week they take you places, the mall, and they had a nice restaurant where we ate quite a bit. They were bought by another company, last year, and I hope they made some improvement talking to people and new clients.

I would not recommend the rehab facility of Good Samaritan. They do not have an interest in the well-being of their patients, unlike the real Good Samaritan, their only motivation is profit. My 89 year old, very hard of hearing aunt was admitted to Good Samaritan Rehab to recover from double pneumonia. My aunt.’s insurance was set to expire 12/13/19 so on 12/9/19 Good Sam. staff met with my aunt and my mom to hold what they termed a discharge meeting. My mother is 91 and legally blind for one year which is why my aunt came to Florid from Maryland. They were advised my aunt had recovered sufficiently recovered to be discharged - coincidentally this coincided with Medicare ending. At that meeting they secured the agreement from these two vulnerable ladies that it was okay for my aunt to return home. They in essence practiced a legal, but immoral, form of patient dumping. My aunt is unable to eat solid food, cannot prepare her own food, cannot climb the 18 steps in my mother’s house,a necessity to access the bedrooms. They refused to listen when I advised them of this yesterday, they insisted my aunt was ready to return to my mom’s home. Once discharged my aunt’s frailty became apparent. When I was called to advise this and seek alternative, I was told repeatededly my aunt is her own person and had agreed to return to my mother’s home. I was told she had pneumonia and now she didn’t . There was no acknowledgment of the impact to her health instead I was accused of not wanting to deal with my aunt. When I asked for her name, the person I spoke to 12/13/19 at 5:15pm on section 4 hung up on me. Now I have two fragile, elderly ladies to keep safe from 1000 miles away until Monday when I can try to arrange for a nursing home for my aunt. If your loved one is at Good Samaritan they are safe as long as the insurance holds out. After that, regardless of the impact to their health and safety, they will be put out so fast your head will spin.

We're currently moving into Good Samaritan Village at Kissimmee. We're independent as of now, but we like the idea that as we age, it's available here. We liked it when we toured before. We liked all the amenities, and the different levels of care available. The have bocce balls, shuffleboard, indoor and outdoor pools, picnic area, golf, and tennis. I like the apartment, the size accommodates what I need, and I liked the round the clock security. Everything is very convenient, and it's very close to everything. The staff is great, I've had to call for maintenance a couple of times, and in 15 minutes they were here, anything I've asked for they've done, and they've done it very quickly. The restaurant is excellent, they have tons of activities, today they're having an informational thing at 2:00 pm, they give you the information you need to know about the community, and I think that's really neat.

It is not what I would call gated. Almost anyone can get through their gates. The management does not care anything about their mobile home park. Getting something done like even changing a light bulb takes for ever. It used to be a lot better but now nothing gets done.

Staff is cheerful and helpful. The Village still has not recovered fully from the flood as most of the screen porch roofs leak and they are not repairing them even though there is an extra charge for the porch. Many daily activities with several places to eat. Dining is pretty reasonably priced. I enjoy living here and the people.

I am currently living in Good Samaritan Society Kissimmee Village. There are 6 levels of care here. You can start with a nurse visiting you, we have a certified nursing home, we have a wing for people who just came back from surgery, and it's excellent. It's one of the reasons my husband and I chose it; we can just use the facilities. They have an area for your own mobile home, you can buy the site but have it life-long. It's wonderful here, I love it. I like to cook, but the golf course café is excellent. Heritage Creekside is an independent retirement building, and the residents get 2 meals a day and they are served first, although they can also go in. And their meals are elegant, and the activities are marvelous. You can do as much activities as you want or as little as you want. The facilities are excellent but they're old, they need electrical wiring, although they just improved our independent water system. I would rate the value for money as a 5, some people might not agree but I do.

Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village has everything that they need right there. They also have assisted living and a nursing home later on. My mother's apartment is nice. They have two-bedrooms and one-bedrooms that are big enough and nice. They also have duplexes and mobile homes. They have two swimming pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, community center, cafe, and restaurants. They have a calendar of activities that they do at the community center including exercises and coloring.

Beware do not live in this place, very awful place to live, the communication is terrible between departments, you never see the director, she don't like to speak with residents unless you are one of the rich ones, there is no compassion, respect, consideration, joy or anything that say we care! They don't take care of the place at all, specially the ones in the independent living apartments, roof leaking, bad windows, grass not cut often, ponds with algae, short of staff, charge for every little thing you ask to be replaced, they raised your rent every year whether you get and increase in your social security or not...overall you better off living under a bridge as the prices are completely ridiculous for what you get!!! You can get a lot more someplace else!!!

Good Samaritan Society was great. I really liked it, and it would be nice for my father. They had great staff and great activities. The facility was very clean. It's a great environment. It's a mixed community so you have independent living, assisted living and full care. It's perfect and in great proximity to other family members. The location was nice.

For more than 25 years we have been associated with Good Samaritan Village either as a visitor, visiting parents or other relatives all in different stages of care from independent living, assisted living to nursing care and now more recently as a resident home owner ourselves. Love and kindness and wonderful care has always been our experience. I highly recommend GSV.

We enjoyed Good Samaritan Village at Kissimmee very much. The facility was very nice, and it was what we were looking for as far as freedom of movement and the availability. The cost was right. It met our children's expectations. There was a gate that was manned 24 hours a day. I liked the size of the accommodations, the safety factor, and the bathrooms because we need the walk-in showers. The kitchen was right sized. We liked that the 2 bedrooms were connected so that we could monitor and check on each other. We were very pleased with the staff. They invited us to come back and spend 2 days with them. We could go to any of the classes we wanted like a swim exercise class where we can do water aerobics. They have an indoor and an outdoor pool, bible studies, and a church right there on the facility, which is non-denominational. It's a 425-acre campus, and we can take our golf cart with us and get around.

Regarding the care center "nursing home", I would NOT put my loved one there. I was SO disappointed as I had heard very good things about Good Samaritan, so to my surprise, when I saw a loved one there, I was appalled. The rooms are dirty, dirty windows, floors. Ants crawling around, the windows were disgusting. I never saw a friendly or helpful staff member-they were terrible to the friends family. My friend had 2 rings stolen from her!! As far as the meals go....Take something to your loved one! I am so sorry that I reccommended this facility...I will NEVER do it again.

Everything was so nice and clean, and it made us feel at home.

The neighborhood and the facility of Good Samaritan were nice, including the dining area. However, we were disappointed because they claimed they could care for dad through the different stages, but when he got to the assisted living stage, they told him he couldn’t stay because he had a catheter. I could never recommend it to anyone who thinks that they’re going to have any commitment to take care of a resident through the stages. They should stop advertising that claim.

My dad is at Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village. It's 200 acres of retirement mobile homes, condos, assisted living, memory care, and nursing home care. Everything is right there on the property. My dad is in the assisted living section, which is in a new building. It's fine. I think the food could be better, but it's alright. They have morning exercises and movies once a week. The residents go on some little trips like picnics, ice cream shop visits, or lunch.

Good Samaritan Village at Kissimmee had individual apartments, a humongous 10- to 15-acre center area, and a 100- to 150-acre open field just beyond the patio. I'm allowed to have my golf cart there. They have two swimming pools and two hot tubs. The sunroom is 30'x26'.

My experience at Good Samaritan Society - Kissimmee Village was very positive. It was spacious, well-kept, active, and alive. The apartments were very well-planned; they had suites with a shared living area or private ones. They have an excellent system for monitoring the movements of their residents, like how often they get up at night and move to and from the bedroom. They had several restaurants and a regular dining room.

My sister is in Good Samaritan Society. To me, it's understaffed, and it's not on top of things over there. It's an aging complex. She hasn't participated, but there are a lot of programs over there. There are 30-to-40 clubs to join, but she's not been able to do any of that. There are four apartments in a row. She lives in an outside quad, and it's not been very easy for her because there is no street that comes in front of it or behind it. So for her to walk out to catch a bus or for visitors is very difficult. Even if you're having delivery of UPS or something, they can't just drive up to leave a package. For her, it's not conducive because she needs more assisted living. Those that are independent, it works OK, but not for her. The food is a good value. I've been to two of the dining-rooms. The café is definitely understaffed, but the food is decent; and the main dining room, the Heritage, is of very good value. It's a huge complex, which is enclosed. You have to come through a gate which gives it a lot more security which is good for the seniors. You can live in a mobile home there, in a home, in an apartment, or in a townhouse.

Good Samaritan Society was one of the places I visited. The staff of this community was good. Unfortunately, the community itself was not what I needed for my mom. However, they had all kinds of activities, from swimming to shopping.

I really liked Good Samaritan, but it is too far away from Lakeland. They did had what I wanted. I’m not an indoor person, and Good Samaritan was more geared for the outdoors and had screened-in rooms, which is what I wanted. We tried the, food and it was very good. They have activities for the residents and an activities director that seemed to keep residents busy. The staff seemed very nice and friendly.

I visited this facility

I did visit Good Samaritan. The place was very beautiful. It was very nice. I liked seeing the different restaurants that they had -- the eating places -- and it was decorated very lovely. They had the rooms where you could go take a book and sit and read, or you could go outside. The rooms were small, naturally. The idea is to go there and participate in the different activities, and not just sit in your room. That is the one thing that I had to remember because I kind of love sitting by myself. I liked the idea that they had these little bus stations into where the residents are, and if you were going to some place like to a store, to Walmart, or someplace, you would meet at those little bus stops near your house, then the bus would come pick you up, take you, and then will bring you back. It was just a very nice idea because you are really not stuck there alone. The place itself was beautiful. It had a very nice entrance way. The foyer was all decorated, and there were pretty chairs and flowers, so it was nice to see that there are places like that. The only thing that was wrong that I couldn't take advantage of these places was the price. I know you had to pay for these things, they don't come free, but I just couldn't afford to live there right now. I know that if ever I need assisted living, they have it. I could probably move from independent into assisted if need be.

The staff at Good Samaritan Society was very nice. The buildings were a little dated, but they are in the process of repairing. I was given a tour by one of the managers or directors there, and she showed me the entire facility, talked about how they have all kinds of levels of care depending what the particular needs would be, and took me to all of the rooms that had all those stages. Some folks of course can feed themselves, and I saw them doing puzzles, watching TV, and arts and crafts going on.

I was at Good Samaritan, and they took really good care of me. It was really great. The room was nice. It had a bed, a dresser, a kitchen table, chairs, and a big screen TV, and they cleaned it every day. They came in, changed the sheets, and mopped the floors everyday single day. The staff was the kindest people I had ever met. They had this caged in room outside, and it had different butterflies for the people. Every day they put new butterflies in there all year long. They had three dining areas, and the food was great. It was clean, and they would serve you the food. I don't think they should improve on anything. They should just leave it the way it was. What really impressed me the most were the people, the nurses, the doctors, and the staff. The staff alone was fantastic.

Good Samaritan was very good, but we thought it was really too high for us at that time. It has a lot of things to do for people in their 70s, 60s, and 80s. They got bingo and game nights. The room was about 1300 square feet for that place, and it’s on a golf course. The food was excellent, you just go to the restaurant, you order want you want, and you pay for it. They have two different restaurants -- that’s normal -- and they have a little fancier restaurant. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly, they take you around. They have car park and pharmacy.

I must give this location 2 stars one for the staff and one for managment. The director of this location who goes by the name if Missy is incredibly RUDE and when she doesn't like what she hears she simply laughs in your face. I have seen so many bad things happen at this location that it turns my stomach! I am going to have my family membered REMOVED from here ASAP. DCF needs to really do a SWEEP. The CNA some are amazing and some are TERRIBLE. So many errors were made and no apologies. It's so sad that a SO CALLED "Christian Community" has some very NON Christian manners. Whatever you DO please do not put your loved one in this facility OR ANY for that matter. You may think it's the best thing but once they get in there they will NEVER be the same. They lose all confidence in themselves. My family member walks with her head down ALL the time and HAS NEVER EVER done that. The Director of Therapy told me that if I wanted therapy for my mom it would be $200 an hour because she didn't require it. MIND YOU my family memeber has Parkinsons and NEEDS as much much help with motor skills. My family member went in there because of a stroke she was so much better off home. THIS PLACE HAS RUINED HER!!! I HATE GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY!!!! Bunch of CARELESS, HEARTLESS people with the exception of maybe 5.

Good Samaritan Society is rather large, about 500 acres. It is a faith-based community. What we were interested in this place in that they have facilities to put a manufactured home on their site. They would go from one bedroom to two bedrooms to three bedrooms. They also have summer apartments. I looked at a three-bedroom/two-bath with attached garage unit. They have a whole lot of activities. They have an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and a golf course. They also have a marina, so I could put my boat there. It meets everything I need. They even have a direct access to the closest public supermarket.

We used to live in Good Samaritan Village. It was a full-service continuum of care place and it had all the amenities. It was the largest employer of health care for seniors in the Country and they had like 250 centers around the country. My mother was there for 24 years and I lived with her for 10 years. I liked the setting the best because it had 435 acres of property, lakes, island, wild life and beautiful trees. I also liked the fact with a golf cart you could go where you want to. It was right adjacent to the public shopping plaza, which had a very nice grocery store. You could go through a private gate with your golf cart to go to the grocery store and come back. It was a great place for people, especially those who wanted independent living. It also had a golf course. It had an in-door and out-door swimming pool. It had planned activities like a bus that take to the grocery store or Walmart, Target or K-mart. The apartments were larger, but of course, there were different kinds. You could have mobile homes, apartments or luxury garden apartments with huge room. You could leave in the three or four-story building with very large room. They also had nursing home care, rehab and assisted living. We lived in the independent living, but we had friends with the other settings.

I went and saw Good Samaritan Society. It was a gated and secured community and it was very nice. What I really liked about them was that the building was done in Tuscany style. They had a lot of amenities. It had a golf course and they had seven villages. They had manufactured homes and duplex houses. They also had a three story apartments, which I looked at. They had a beautiful little lake with pavilion where you could have picnic; they had two pools, an indoor heated pool and an outdoor pool; they had a big library; they had a big and beautiful fitness room; they had a dining room and a cafe in it. The apartment was very comfortable. It had a huge bathroom and a full size kitchen with stove and refrigerator. It also had washers and driers. It also had a small patio, which I liked. They seemed to have more than the others and the price was comfortable. They had people that would come clean your room once a week. They had a shuttle that could bring you shopping or doctor's appointment. You could purchase a golf cart and drove around. They also had a medical facility in the property.

The facility barely qualifies for the 1 star rating. The staff though somewhat caring is barely qualified for medical rehabilitation care. My father was there recently after open heart surgery and had to be taken back to the emergency room after 3 days with fluid in his lungs, something that any qualified medical personnel would've spotted easily. He was sent there on the recommendation by his Surgeon and that was a big mistake. There is only 1 registered nurse on the floor for all beds & only nurse assistants are there for actual care. When he was taken back to the hospital, the nurses at the hospital themselves said that they would never take their loved ones there. There are better options especially with Rehabilitation Hospitals in the area. All I can say is to visit the facility and trust what your gut tells you based on what you see. If you have loved ones already in there, I'd take them out as they aren't getting the care that they deserve.
