My sister who is a diabetic was in there. Her sugar was 4 or 500 everyday. I asked if they had a diabetic menu because they gave her all kinds of carbs. They said their diabetic diet was smaller portions. That's NOT a diabetic diet. Don't put your loved ones in here. My sister has a bedsore now

I'm moving into Asbury Place. I have a beautiful porch that opens up, and it's convenient to everything, too. The staff members were very helpful. I have a one-bedroom apartment. They offer four different rooms. They have a library, parking, and garages, and they provide food, too. Once you're in there, you can go wherever you want. They're good.

I am the son of a former resident. the facility was excellent before the pandemic, but during pandemic became awful. food quality suffered, all social activities were completely stopped, and family was totally barred from visiting unless deemed "urgent," which—while I understand the decision–was the wrong one. I don't think the facility understood how much care assistance the family provides. during the pandemic, my mother fell in her apartment, resulting in a hip fracture. staff did not call to tell me until the following afternoon. after surgery and during rehab, physical rehab "softened" their language in reporting her progress, which led to a total misunderstanding of her condition upon release, the social worker completely failed to help provide in-room care, and transfer from hospital to her room: she was wheeled back to her room, and left unsupervised after an hour. Mom fell twice that night, resulting in a scramble on our part to find in-room care from other sources besides Asbury. the facility would never return calls to organize family care, so I had to basically stow away in mom's room pretending to be a skilled caregiver. four weeks later, we moved her out. Mom is still suffering the cognitive effects from months of prolonged isolation.

The rooms at Asbury Place at Kingsport are comparable and the amenities. I have been to some of the places with sick people, and we've got some around. This assisted living place is much nicer, cleaner, and smelled better and everything. It's comparable except for the price, you've got to pay more to get in. I visited someone here who was behind locked doors, and I've got to say it was nice too. They had an assisted living part of it, and the other part and my friend was in the assisted living. She went over there to stay and was happy as she could be while she was still able. It was a nice little setting back in a secluded area and I like that. The room I saw were just kind of like a hospital room. I don't remember seeing residents with their own cars.

I am grateful to the wonderful, caring staff of Baysmont House at Asbury Kingsport who made the last years of my mom's life very comfortable. They were very attentive to her needs and sensitive as she ended her 98 years on this earth. Thanks to all!

The location of Asbury Place at Kingsport was better than where my father is now. However, they were full when we went. The rooms were larger, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean.
