I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My cousin is in Crestwood Village North. I'd give it a ten all the way around. It's an independent senior community. They offer a shuttle to take the seniors back and forth, either to the bank, to the mall, or to run errands. They have an onsite laundry facility. They have an onsite gym. They have a library with a computer lab. They have a kitchen area. During holidays for like Christmas and Thanksgiving, they cook community meals for those seniors who either don't have family or can't go home to their family. They cook this big dinner down in the kitchen and all of the seniors that are there for the holiday come down and participate. They have movie nights in their community room. It was bright, it was airy, and there were lots of natural light as well as bright lights. As soon as you walk in, the office is to the right and there are windows in the office. There's a code to get in or a key. You can't just walk in from the street or someone has to come down and let you in if you don't have the key to get in. There was a big parking lot. The apartment was absolutely beautiful. She's got a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bath. There's a living room and a dining area. It's like an eating kitchen/dining area that's open. She has a small terrace or balcony that's off of the living room. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. They know all the residents' names. The manager, each of the residents has her emergency contact number for after hours. There is maintenance onsite. All of this for like $1200. It was supposed to go up this year like maybe $40 or $60, but with all the amenities, it was worth what she was paying. The rent does not include utilities. They have transportation for the seniors. A couple of times a week, those that don't have transportation, they'll take them to the bank or run errands. I just talked to her a couple of weeks ago and the shuttle took them all to vote on Election Day. She's able to participate in activities. She's not forced to participate. They have an instructor who comes in a couple of times a week to give classes for the seniors. They have weight training on how to properly use the equipment. They have exercise classes for the seniors as well. She can use the gym on her own if she'd like or to join in the classes. She shops and cooks for herself. During holidays, they have someone come in to cook for the community. If it was me looking for a place for my mother, I would be very comfortable with my 85-year-old mother staying there.

I visited this facility

I'm moving to Crestwood Village North today. It's fantastic. I got a 2-bedroom apartment with 2-baths and a bathtub and shower. It's got a dishwasher, which I didn't know about. It's got everything I really need. It's got a fitness center to work out. It's got a good place to do my laundry. Everything I need, I got. There are no meals there, and that's the only negative. They said there's a place that will deliver food. My apartment's layout is perfect. They provide exercise classes, free transportation to different different places, and have activities scheduled throughout the month.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Crestwood Village North is an adult-only community. I think the age requirement is 62. They have studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedrooms, then I'm in a building where I pay my light bill, but it depends on which building you're in, whether you pay for it or not. It has a leasing office in it, and there is no food service. We have a bus that takes us to the grocery store and places, and we do all kinds of activities, like card playing, different games such as corhnole and bowling. It's just a friendly community. Today, we're having Christmas in July, day. It's like a white elephant, where you take something that you've received as a gift that you haven't used or didn't want or need. You wrap it and then you take it down and we draw our numbers, and when your numbers are called, you get up and pick out something on the table. It's just a fun activity. We're having snacks and they decorated our lobby with a few of the Christmas decorations that we normally have in December. We also have a kitchen here that we can use for family members if we want to have a family party. There's a library that's got all kinds of books that would interest people, a computer, coloring classes, and a bridge club. There are three buildings on our campus and I think one of the buildings even has a sewing club. I have a huge, huge one-bedroom and I pay $858 a month, which I think is great, compared to what I've seen online. I've got a laundry facility right outside my door and they've got elevators in our buildings. They got everything we needed, except the vending machine. That's one thing I wish we had that we can use when it's late at night and you're craving something sweet. They've also actually arranged a trip in October to Branson, Missouri. So, we do things like that again, now that the pandemic's over. We go to see movies, then they'll take us on the bus to go out to eat usually once a week, and they just offer a lot for people who want to do things. We have a recreation area as well that we can go work out in. I would like to see a swimming pool though. The staff is very friendly. We have a director, a leasing agent, a residential coordinator that plans most of the activities, and a maintenance crew, who was here today. One of the gentlemen's apartments didn't have any electricity going in and he was here right on the spot. They also keep the grounds beautiful. I just had a lot of complaints about one person from the staff. I went three times and complained about it, but they've not done anything. The person just finally quieted down.

I visited this facility

Crestwood Village was much older. It was terrible. The apartments were very old and worn, the carpet was horrible, the bathrooms were real teeny, and nothing had been redone in years and years. The staff was doing their job. The layout wasn't bad, I think it was just so old. There were two little closets and no storage space. It's a very affordable place, but it's because they haven't done anything. They had a lot of land and that's very pretty.
