American Village was nice, and the staff was nice and helpful. They helped a lot with the questions I had. From what I saw, the overall condition of the facility was good. It was clean. The rooms were nice. I liked that they cater to the needs of their residents, so that was good.

We toured the American Village and it was excellent. We saw assisted living, we saw independent living cottages, and we were already familiar with rehabilitation. I thought the quality of the facility was excellent. The attitude of the residents that we interacted with was very upbeat. And the staff that we interacted with was very familiar with the residents and just cognizant of their situations and their interests. We did not eat, but we were in the dining room during lunchtime and talked with a lady who turned out we knew, she was a neighbor, and she was very complimentary about the food. The quality of the construction of the room was good and it was generous. The kitchen spaces in the assisted living units were more generous and well laid out. The spaces were good.

I liked the staff and the facilities at American Village. The location was not the best. I think that was one of the deciding factors. It's near the inner city of Indianapolis, and we would rather have something up further north. They have a salon, a gym, and a library. It looks out over a lake. It had a very nice view. The place was very clean.

My dad has been in the Lincoln Lodge area of the American Village. It's the independent living apartments of American Village. They have nice spacious rooms because he has a two-bedroom, two bathroom. Very friendly staff as well. The food was decent there, I've had a couple of meals there, and they have lots of senior activities, outings, and trips. The residents are friendly. They do like light housekeeping. They do his laundry as well. It's very clean. It's close to my house, and for him it was nice because it was literally around the corner from the Meijer's, so it was just good for him to be close to the store. They have a recreation room, a media room like a movie room, and an activities center. They have a nice variety of food.

My mother is in American Village and she is in the Lincoln Lodge area, which is an independent living area. She's been there almost five years now. It's very unique in that all of the residents live in their individual apartments, but they have group activities and group meals. It's a very comfortable living situation. Every single staff person is dedicated, committed, and involved. They all know every resident. It's very much a family type atmosphere there. My mom loves the meals. For my taste, I prefer a little healthier fare. I'm much more a health-conscious eater, but my mom absolutely loves the food there. When she first moved there, she had a lot more mobility. Her main complaint was there were so many things she wanted to do that she didn't have enough time to do them all. They have everything from bingo, painting, exercise classes, and group movie events. Just last Thursday, they had a live musical event where musicians came in and played music. It's a very wide variety of activities. It's very reasonable for the money that you spend because all of your expenses are included. They even have two days a week where they will provide transportation to appointments. Now that we are no longer under quarantine, they have regular visits to Myer and Kmart. They will take you just to about any place that you actually need to go.

American Village Healthcare was a very, very busy place. We saw a lot of staff dealing with the residents. I like that they're interacting very well. I saw a lot of guests, and everybody was welcoming and very friendly. They talk to you, and it was good. The staff that I interacted with were very helpful and gave lots of information. I would say that they were nice and friendly, we had good interaction. The facility is very good, it's a very big facility and very busy. It was lunchtime when we went, so it was hectic, but they were managing well. I think they had 2-3 dining areas, and I liked one of them very much. The room we saw was very beautiful. The decoration is very nice, it has a darker and more like orange decoration, but it's very nice. They do a lot of activities and different things. The staff showed me the area where they do activities and exercises. Everything looks pretty good to me. I like the outer parts of it where you can go sit by the water, which is something great when you're going to visit your relatives. You can sit by the water and they have benches and tables there, which is nice, but it's kind of secluded. I like the seclusion in a way, but getting there's a little bit difficult.

We visited American Village for Mom. It was limited because of COVID, but it was fine. They answered all my questions. We did not speak to any healthcare people, but we spoke to some of the finance people/those who recruit people for their home. The facility seemed fine. We toured the facilities, and they took us around to the common areas and it was fine. There was a salon.

My cousin loves it at American Village, it's very nice and they were wonderful. Their apartments are very nice, all the utilities are paid, and the food is good. The staff is very, very kind and very personable. It's a very good situation for her. She's in what's called independent living, although all her meals are provided and they give everybody a medical necklace and they check on everyone twice a day. I was just talking with her on the phone and she's very happy. She had known somebody whose parents are there at the American Village and so she already knew a little bit about it and that helped a lot.
