I am a friend or relative of a resident
I really like this facility. It is the closest one to my grandma and she seems to like it there. I love this facility and would recommend it to anyone. The staff in particular is wonderful. They are so caring and know what they are doing. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, and always have such a positive attitude towards the other staff and the residents there. The place is not very large and I think that it is because the area is very rural and not many residents. But it seems to be the appropriate size for their demo graph. My only complaint about this facility is that it is not properly funded. They do well with what they have but they definitely don't have enough. The staff does make sure to organize an activity every week to keep their residents engaged and socializing such as bingo. Bingo night there is so fun for the residents. Last time I went, one of the residents won and you could see that it really made her day.

I visited this facility
Since we were in the area, we stopped in and visited the Good Samaritan Assisted Living in Hempstead. We are looking for a suitable place for our uncle. The staff immediately put us at ease, despite the fact that we had no appointment. The foyer was lovely, as were all of the communal areas we saw on our tour. The activity rooms featured nice furnishings -- and there were plenty of places to stop and enjoy along the way. The exercise room had yoga mats and equipment, all of which the staff assists the residents with. They have regular exercise classes and encourage the seniors to participate. They also had a variety of physical activities to assist with keeping the residents fit. For example, they visit the local farmer's market and take walks regularly throughout the community. This seemed like a great strategy to us -- to keep everyone connected and interested in their living environments. The dining rooms were nicely decorated and had a warm feel. The food smelled and looked delicious and home-cooked -- yet still very healthy. The menu options were all appetizing. The regular snacks feature just about anything a person could want -- and a few more items. The living spaces were clean, well kept and nicely decorated, and seemed to be to the taste of each resident. They were all well-equipped with kitchenettes and large bathrooms that were easy to navigate. Many had private patios. All had really nice views and a lot of light. The staff we met were all dedicated to their jobs -- but seemed to view their work more as a privilege, which we really liked. it was clear that the residents are very well cared for here, with all of their needs met.
