I thought Maplewood Lane Assisted Living was a very homey place. The staff that I met there were all very cordial. There's one lady that's been working there for 27 years and she was just as great as she could be. We had a very honest conversation about what would be required to get my friend in. It's an assisted living so the rules were a little different. It's able to handle folks in a wheelchair, push them for their showers, and even out the front door to sit in the sunshine on the porch. They have physical therapy 2 or 3 times a week, and a Bible study twice a week. It was just a very homey place and I had known somebody that had been there before and was happy there. It's small and homey and they said they work very hard to make it that way. The lady friend that I was trying to look for, still has issues in terms of her mobility like when going to the bathroom and that kind of stuff. The small room is really small, a little smaller than other folks' studio rooms, but the assistance they were saying they gave folks, in terms of bathing and showering, seemed right up to par with everybody else. The one who toured me around was the man that owns the place. He didn't have to show me around a lot because I've been there, in the room of the friend that used to be there. He didn't do a whole lot of showing around. He just showed me where the room was and showed me the difference between the smallest room and the next one. I had been in the larger one with my friend before, and of course, the price goes up with every increase in size. There were folks in the big kitchen, working on supper. There's a piano there and while I was talking to him, somebody came and played it, and that kind of brought all the other folks out. I think they only had two rooms empty, and they both were small. It would take a little getting used to, but it's all that my friend needs. The person who toured me also said that if one goes into a small room and a larger one becomes available, they automatically will switch that person up. It was clean and the layout is great because they have straight halls. The halls are also wooden so that even if you're in a wheelchair, you could navigate them easily. One side of the windows looks over a little lake so it's a nice surrounding. There's also a government building or something across the street, and they've got a nice front to it where folks could sit. They said they were going to be adding something on the back, a covered porch, or something like that.

Maplewood Lane Assisted Living seemed like it would be nice. I could see a couple of the residents there, even though there weren't many that I happened to see in the community area. They seem to be fairly well independent, as far as I could tell, compared to my mother, who has severe dementia and is pretty much in a wheelchair. So the question was whether she would be able to be cared for in just plain assisted living or not. The staff who gave the tour was very caring. He's a Christian man that I would feel good about having my relatives there. They only have, I think 16 rooms, and there's only one left. They said that they lost some patients during the COVID epidemic. Otherwise, before that, they rarely had an opening. It doesn't sound like patients leave there that often. The room I saw was nice and is furnished, but you can also go either way and bring your own furniture as well. It had a carpet in the room, there's a shared shower with one other room, but it has its own toilet. The upkeep looked excellent; everything was in very good shape. They had a nice dining area. I met one of the cooks when I took the tour, she just finished making a cake, and I got the impression that the food would be good home-cooking. They have scheduled things like bingo and board games. My mother likes to sit and socialize and she'll have some opportunity for that. Plus all the rooms are fairly close to the meeting area. They had a front porch with some rocking chairs out there.

Shawn, Susan, Shay and everyone on staff are all so caring! My mom has a beautiful place to live and they take great care of her! I have peace of mind knowing she is here and I do not have to continually worry. She has a private room and bath. She gets three meals each day and snacks as she wants. I am extremely lucky to have found this place with this group of people. God is good!

My mother’s room is a great size. It is a beautifully renovated room and bath. My mother loves the view out of the windows in her room. She is able to have everything she needs and has her personal things displayed which makes it a real home. The food is excellent the facility is always clean and well maintained and has been fully renovated as well. The owner Shawn is truly dedicated to the comfort care and happiness of the residents. The director Shay was born for her vocation. She is so open and honest with me and my mom and show tlc to all residents and employees. She is so dedicated! All the staff have been so friendly and caring. I feel so blessed to have found this facility. I can travel with full confidence that mom is being fully taken care of. If you are reading this and looking for a facility for a family member please visit Maplewood. You will be happy you did.

Sean, the owner of Maplewood Lane Assisted Living, is extremely involved and very caring. He interacts with the residents like they are his own parents or grandparents. I thought one of the residents was his grandmother. That's one of the main things we moved our mom in there, and it's a very updated facility and extremely clean. They're just all fabulous and they all make you feel very welcome. I've been there whenever they're cooking. They are home-cooked meals and they smell amazing, and a lot of the residents comment on how good the food is. They also have Bible study, exercises, and someone that comes in on a regular schedule to play music or sing with them. There are Jigsaw puzzles and books always available too.
