I visited this facility

We toured Layton Terrace Senior Community and the least I liked was the heating and cooling system. The woman, I think her name was Chris, took us on a tour. She was very generous with information, very attentive, and very thorough. She showed us different options and views. I couldn't think of anything more to ask. They were very, very accommodating. The rooms were good size and what I expected. It was a normal size, big enough for what you would need to have. The layout was good, and the bathroom was set up well. We saw the dining room. They look very nice. We were walking on sort of a bridge over it and we were looking down into the dining room. We couldn't see the food, but the setup looked very inviting. It was a pleasant dining room. They seem like they have a lot of activities going on. There was something regularly listed on the calendar. I think I even got emails inviting me. Even if you weren't a resident, you were invited to some of the events. There seemed to be a regular schedule of an interesting variety of activities. I remember the pool table room because we kind of asked about that; my husband was interested. We saw the therapy area and the laundry area. There were a lot of people visiting in the lobby. It was a very spacious and comfortable lobby. The place is very clean, and well laid out, and the elevators were in the right places.

I visited this facility

I went to Layton Terrace Senior Living. The tour was great, but I didn't like the apartments. They were kind of outdated and dreary looking, so that's what turned me off. The staff who toured us were great though. The price was way too high. The rooms looked like somebody took an old kitchen cupboard and put it up. Nothing was updated. I just didn't care for it.

I visited this facility

The memory care unit at Layton Terrace Senior Living was small with only 30 residents. The location was ideal. They had apartments there instead of a room. You had your own little apartment there, so we liked that aspect of it. I'm just a little concerned that the entry is on the lower level and memory care is upstairs. And it was a little busy down there because they had senior living, assisted living, and memory care in the same facility. So, it was a little confusing on which is where and where to go. But we've only been there once, so I'm sure we could get used to that aspect of it.

Layton Terrace Senior Living wasn't as friendly. The staff seemed a little disorganized. The person that I met with was 15 minutes late. She wasn't on time. We were waiting. We were the first ones there, so there shouldn't have been a problem. It was OK, nothing special. It was dated. The dining area was beautiful. They updated that. They had a lot of activities.

I visited this facility

I toured Layton Terrace Senior Living and I liked that they had a lot of activities and things scheduled for the residents. So we liked the programs they had set up, however, the facility itself was rundown and needed a lot of updating. It was a little dark, and we were looking for a different feel. The staff who gave the tour was very welcoming and informative, but she just seemed a little sick. They had a gym, a salon, and also several activity rooms where they would hold cooking demonstrations, and that was nice.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I like Layton Terrace Senior Living. It's clean here. They're remodeling a lot of stuff and painting stuff now, but other than that, I've got a great view out the window. There's a whole big long piece of green grass, and then there's about five or six evergreen trees and other little trees. It's a great view. So far, the people I've talked to have been nice. They are great.

I visited this facility

My brother and I toured Layton Terrace Senior Living together and we both liked it. The lady who took us around was very helpful and very informative. If we had a question, she answered it. The rooms were sufficient. What they would have for my mom is almost like an efficiency apartment. It was all in one room, but it seemed to be designed well and we were fine with it. Then they had areas where a memory care resident could go outside and sit sometimes. They also had areas where they would gather together at meals and do activities. They would play bingo there, do some artwork stuff, play board games/cards, and have some entertainment on occasion. So, we were pleased with them.

I toured Layton Terrace Senior Living. They are very welcoming. Tracy was just open arms, full of knowledge, full of information, and very friendly and inviting. She's a great listener. The rooms are spacious in size and clean. It's more than what you need. It looked out onto a terrace as well. There are big windows and very nature oriented. They had a small nature trail, but they had a nice courtyard. The dining room was clean.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom moved into Layton Terrace Senior Living. It has been wonderful. Everyone is so helpful there. Any question I have gets answered right away. There were picnic tables out there and a walkway around the entire building. Inside the dining room is very nice. There's a sitting area off the lobby where many people come in the afternoons, sit down, and visit with each other. My mom's been having dinner every night there, and she's been enjoying that. She said the food was good. She hasn't tried out the beauty salon yet because she's only been there a week. Her apartment is very nice and just the right size for her. She pretty much has everything she needs there. My mom's been to bingo twice so far.

I know a friend who lives at Layton Terrace Senior Living. It's clean, and they have nursing staff 24/7 if needed. They have card games. There's so much going on there all the time. I've been visiting regularly. The staff is very attentive. It's very well maintained. They have worship service onsite and supervised exercise classes. Whatever they're charging the people, it's worth it.

We are leaning toward Leyton Terrace for my mom. I really liked that the space was so open. The lady I worked with was really helpful. The residents seemed really happy and welcoming. The one-bedroom was nicely kept up. It was overall a good tour and a good facility. The dining room was large and well-lit. It looked like they were really well organized. There were a lot of activities like exercise, different programs, coloring groups, and games available. I know there are like 20 meals included in the price of the rent, which was nice. They have a beauty salon, a little library, and a reading nook. They have a doctor come on-site maybe once a week.

My father-in-law was a resident of Layton Terrace Senior Living. He was there for a very short time. It felt very old and very institutional. The hallways were dark; it's not very welcoming. He was not an assisted living, so we didn't interact with the staff very much. He wasn't thrilled with the staff, but he was also very grumpy. They did not go above and beyond to get him involved in things or to make him feel welcome there which was why we were there for a very, very short time. December of 2018 was the last time that he was there. The food was not good. It was very average and very bland. He chose to eat in his little apartment most of the time. The place was very average, nothing special. I don't think my father-in-law participated in any activities. I don't know that he took part in anything. But part of this is his fault as well. He did not want to be part of the community. I think it's affordable but nothing super special.

My mom will be moving into Layton Terrace next week. I had a physical tour, and it was great. I met a few people who were just walking through, and they told me what their job is and how my mom would be treated. The staff gave me a tour of a few of the apartments, and then I decided on one of them. I'm really happy with it. I only looked at the assisted living apartments. The studio apartment has a full kitchen, and it's almost 500 square feet. It was lunchtime, and they were serving the people there in the dining room, and it smelled awfully good. I didn't ask for a menu to see it, but the staff told me they had two options. They had more comfort-type food and a healthy menu. She has choices between different menus, so that sounded good to me.

I liked Layton Terrace. I could stay there, but I don't need to. It was new, open, and seemed clean. The lady that showed us around was very nice, seemed pretty organized, and they had everything that my parents probably would need. I would put them there, but ultimately it comes to what they want. It's close to grocery stores and shopping. It seemed pretty well situated. I liked it because it was smaller, and it's better for my own personal taste. We actually just saw a 1-bedroom apartment, then the lady showed us around the major space there. They didn't wanna show you around too much because of the COVID situation though.

Layton Terrace was in a nice area. There were restaurants, stores, and shops nearby, so that's a positive. The staff that we have met with seemed really nice. There was only one concern and it was when we asked a resident about how she liked it there. Maybe she was not the right person to ask, but the resident said that it's not home and she was just waiting to die. As far as the rooms that we saw, they were small and the larger one we saw would have been adequate. We saw their workout room and we saw residents playing some board games. My father would have been excited if they had something like woodworking, but they have nothing like that onsite. Overall, the tour was really good and the staff did a really good job.

Layton Terrace was a very good place, but I don't think they have a big enough memory care center there. The person who assisted me was very informative. They had very good physical therapy, a beauty salon, a nice dining area, and nice rooms.

My dad is here and is doing very well. It is a good place. He seems to be happy. They are pretty open with everything and are very pleasant, warm, accommodating, polite, and respectful. It has been a month, but so far, we have not had a problem. They have a gathering area and a pretty large backyard.

Layton Terrace is like a warm and friendly home. They had a whole bunch of activities for their residents, plus a beauty shop, a little grocery store, and those sorts of things. We had a meal there and enjoyed it. The staff was extremely accommodating. The facility is clean, laid out well, and not too overwhelming. It did not feel institutional at all.

I visited Layton Terrace, it seems very far out, and I couldn’t get in to it. There is area for the dogs, and the rooms were nice. The visit was nice; there was a friendly lady who assisted me during the tour. I love the large area and inside of the whole complex.
