Gabriel Manor was an awesome community. The facility was very clean and diverse. The only con is that my mom can't afford it. I saw the main area and the kitchen. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. I think they have a board with the activity calendar.

Gabriel Manor was a great place and I had a great tour of it. The staff was knowledgeable. The rooms were very nice. The dining area was very nice, but I wasn't able to try their food. The outdoor areas were well-kept.

Gabriel Manor was so much more institutional and rundown, and it was kind of in the middle of nowhere. The staff who took us around was nice. They had a room set up for you to see, like a staged room, and then they showed us a room that was called a companion room. The one that was staged was nice. It had a bed, a bedside table, and a wardrobe, which I didn't care for because that takes up floor space as opposed to having a closet. They would furnish the rooms, but I didn't particularly care for the furnishings. They were a little bit more institutional than I would like.

Gabriel Manor was a great place. The staff was very loving, very caring, and showed compassion, but they were just too expensive. If I could afford it, that's where I would take my father. The tour was very lovely. The staff interacted well with the residents. I saw a shared room with a shared bathroom, but the residents still have their own privacy. It was well-designed. The facility was very clean and well organized, and the rooms felt homey. They had a fitness room, a TV room, and an outdoor gazebo area.

We went to Gabriel Manor. It's much closer to the family to visit. It was very organized when we visited, it was clean, and the coordinator was extremely helpful and nice. The staff was friendly and informative. And the room that we looked at was plain, roomy, and has everything that was needed. She talked about -- there were exercises and some other little activities for those that could participate.

My husband was at Gabriel Manor only for a month, but I can only say great things about them. It's a very nice place, and they've got very good people. He was in memory care. The assisted living and the memory care is in the same building. The people were very caring. In the last five days of his life, they let me stay in the room with him. They moved him to a private room. They would bring me water or snacks or anything I needed because we knew it could be any time. They were very conscious, and they checked on him. I stayed around the clock. Every two hours, they came in at night and they changed him. They were just really, really good to him. They were very caring. Because of COVID, I think they did not want anybody else in the cafeteria area other than staff, but from what I understand the food was good. They would help feed him. It's a very nice place, modern looking, and spacious. There's plenty of room, and there's plenty of open space. The rooms were very nice. Even when you have two people to a room, they're very nice. I like the way they were set up. They were very big and very airy. When we went to look at it, they said they had activities. They also had an outside area that we could go to, which was nice. It's a closed-in outside area with tables and chairs. It was nice to get away. I thought it was good value for the money. It's very close to the hospital.

Memory Care
Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia can be overwhelming and scary for both patients and their families. Families have important questions and concerns: How will the disease progress? What changes can I expect to see in my loved one? How do I know when I need to seek help in my loved one’s care? How do we transition him or her from home to a skilled care setting? How will he or she be supported emotionally? How will I know my loved one is safe and secure?
We can address these concerns and many more. Saber’s highly trained and experienced professionals have the expertise, patience and compassion to understand the complex needs of dementia patients – and their loved ones. We know these conditions affect the whole family and work closely with all involved to address the needs and concerns of all parties.
Saber creates memory care environments and services specifically designed to meet the many challenges and needs of those suffering from memory-related disease. Key to our care plan is providing meaningful activities for our patients. Every event, every interaction, every procedure is an opportunity to provide an enriching, connective activity. It might be an outing, a backrub, a dance or a meal. Whatever it is, the principles involved always involve being flexible and focusing on the person's individual capabilities and level of functional ability.
Our expert staff is trained to deliver these memory care services in a professional, compassionate manner. Saber’s professional memory care nurses, physicians, therapists and other team members address each patient’s needs with medical expertise and warm, supportive care.
Each of our memory care team members receives intensive, interactive education on the following topics to ensure the best care for patients:
- Overview and understanding of the progression of Alzheimer's disease
- Person-centered care
- Communication techniques
- Addressing challenging behaviors to maintain a safe, relaxed and comfortable living environment
- Working as a team with families
- Providing meaningful activities
