I toured Carmel Village Retirement Community. The person who took us around was very informative. For activities, I know they were having a tea social and there was a discussion group. They have a patio, which we walked through, and we saw the dining room. It looked very nice. There were tablecloths on the table, and I think it was set up. I saw two rooms. One was furnished and the other was empty. But they were very clean, and ready to move in I guess. The staff was very friendly.

I’m referring to the memory care part of this facility. DO NOT put your loved one in this place . The great people that worked there have been fired and now only worker bees are taking care of the elderly people. Most are aggressive and don’t care , they frequently don’t bathe the elderly and rush them as they move them from bed to wheelchairs. They may not have the correct Medical Directives placed on the patient door! Our door had someone from a year before which we discovered after 11 months of being there. I removed my loved one and found that he had a head wound and a UTI that were BOTH infected! If you have a loved one there YOU must visit randomly and be observant of the real care they are getting. But I recommend you find another place if you really care about your loved one. Ps, there is a woman that has had an eye infection for more than three weeks!!!!

Carmel Village Retirement Community was very nice. The presentation was nice and I got everything from the week's menu, they handed it to me, and the other things there were very nice. It was also very close to my daughter-in-law's apartment. So, it was only a couple of blocks away and that was kind of a plus there, too. One particular unit that I saw there that they had available at that time also was very nice, because it had sliding glass doors that opened to a yard area that would be available for my brother's little dog. The rooms were just a little bit small for their needs and wants and stuff.

Carmel Village Retirement Community was the only one that we ended up touring because it was the only one that was a medical model. We were very impressed with the amenities, with what they offer and all. They provide washing and housekeeping, and they have the washer and dryer available free of charge, so it's not like a laundromat. There's no extra cost, and it seems like it would be helpful in the long run. They help with housecleaning. My mom was impressed with the size of the rooms. The staff who greeted us was very, very nice. David, the marketing director, gave us an awesome tour and showed us some of his projects, and it just seemed like everybody cared. It looks like they have some awesome activities, card games, bingo, and memory games. The facility looked clean and accessible.

I went to Carmel Village. It seemed very well organized, I was very happy. It seemed like it would be a good place for someone with memory care issues. The rooms looked very nice. A little small, but basically you're eating somewhere else, and you're doing your activity somewhere else. They have a daily calendar of activities for it depending on what category you're in. I didn't actually try the food, but I did go to the cafeteria area, and it looked very nice. It looked very well organized, very clean. I was very happy with that .

I went to Carmel Village Retirement Community. The staff during the tour made me wait in the lobby for 30 minutes before my tour. When we met, he acted like he could care less that I was there and was very dismissive of my questions and showing me around. His attitude was like I was wasting his time, sort of. I also met the front desk person. They were very businesslike. They only addressed me when I addressed them first. They weren't very personable. They've been doing some remodeling. It was a little older, but it was still nice. They had nice outdoor spaces. I did not feel welcome there at all.
