We had a wonderful Respite experience at Rosewood. From admission through discharge, the staff were kind, responsive and easy to work with. Rena over dietary was phenomenal. Alison was great to work with. Even the gentleman over maintenance made us feel at home. Their partnership with Tapestry Hospice was a tremendous benefit to our family.

I visited this facility
The Rosewood at Fort Oglethorpe had some virus outbreak when we visited. All of the residents were told to stay in their rooms, and the visitors were recommended to wear face masks while we toured. All the residents were fed their meals in their rooms that day. They did everything for the safety of their residents. The rooms seemed to be very small. The hallways were very narrow like in a hotel. I don't think two wheelchairs could fit side by side. The place was OK, but it did not meet our needs because we were looking for an independent living facility. The common areas were nice, clean, and well kept. The grounds and courtyard were beautiful and clean. It did not smell bad. The staff were very helpful and nice, which stood out to me during my visit.

I wouldn't put my dog in the care of these people. When you meet the person to talk about putting a loved one in care here, it sounds wonderful. Activities, meals, snacks, outings. We were feeling really great about the choice to put my grandfather here in their memory care facility. A couple months down the road, he was put on a medicine that we did not approve and he had an adverse reaction to it. He was lashing out and upset a lot of the time. They demanded he have a psychological evaluation done. When we took him, there was nothing wrong with him. We took him back and his care went downhill. The CNAs were constantly on their phones instead of caring for residents. They would stand in the kitchen and cut up while the residents had to fend for themselves. My grandfather laid in bed almost an entire day without food or water because no one came to get him. You cannot expect a person with Alzheimer's to know when to get themselves up and dressed. But they need extra help? Tack on a few more hundred dollars. When asked where he was when we didn't see him the nurse laughed and said "you know, I haven't seen him all day!" What if he had died?? This place is HORRIBLE. Residents walk around and spit on the floor. They aren't supervised. And to top it all off, the memory care isn't a licensed memory care facility. Do not put a loved one here unless you're leaving them to die.

The facility is very nice, but the attention the staff gave my Mother was horrible. Mother had to have a special drink for her meals and the drinks were taken to the facility for them to mix and give her. Repeatedly they would forget to bring her drink, which was her only nutrition.
We talked to the administrator there three times about the problem and the blame was put on the kitchen staff or the floor staff. When Mother fell, no one called to inform us of the fall and no one looked at her injuries. We do not know how long she lay in the floor before she was found.
When the administrator was questioned about the fall she said there would have been a report brought to her. Well the report was brought and put in her inbox, but she was out of the office and no one was backing up her duties. She found the report in her inbox. Mother will not be back.

The name of the facility is Rosewood. We chose it for my mother because it is close to home. The staff is all very nice and very positive. There's different sized rooms for different needs. They all look quite comfortable. The dining area is very nice, and the staff is very helpful. They have lots of activities like bingo and member's night. It is a family night where all the people have their family come in, and they do a dinner. They do a lot of shopping trips and go to lunch or dinner at different places. There are several things on the calendar every day. It is a very nice and well-kept place. The staff and everyone there are very positive. It is a very nice facility.
