Looks are deceiving, this looks like an inviting place for your loved one, but we would advise you to look elsewhere. Other reviews say that the staff is friendly, which they are. What they do not say is that the care staff is unskilled. Our family was not satisfied with the care our mom received. They just do not hire highly skilled caregivers. Also, read the contract closely. They collect rent on the room for 14 days following the passing of your loved one, even though you have removed all of your loved one’s belongings. Our is advice is look for reviews that highly commend the caregivers.

We chose The Haworth Center at Baptist Manor for my mother-in-law because I liked the facility and through referrals from other friends that had parents there before. We're limited in our interactions, but the staff has been very caring, and Mom likes it there. It's been positive. She had a very large room when we first moved her there, but she's been relocated. She enjoys the food. They showed us a menu, and it looked very nutritional. They had an outing, they went to see the trees up north, and they're doing bingo. The capacity is 30 residents, so it's a small center. They've been very responsive. The facility is very clean and new.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My relative was a resident at Haworth Center for a little over a year. During his time there, I was personally dissatisfied with the care he received as well as the treatment my family received. Specifically, they do not do enough to socialize the residents or spend time with them. The only time I received any calls about my relative were related to money. Other facilities, though seemingly less prestigious on the surface, at least offer activities for residents rather than letting them sit in wheelchairs in the hallways all day. I am not surprised AT ALL that there was a fire there in 2017 that was supposedly caused by a resident on oxygen smoking because they do not check on people. My relative ultimately wound up back in the hospital because he had developed an infection and died. But not because of the infection, his cause of death was sadly, failure to thrive. I put 100% of the fault for that on Haworth.

We have repeated problems getting actual assistance to our mother. She often goes days without a change of clothes, and easily talks attendants out of giving twice a week showers to her. We have had repeated problems with missed weeks for laundry service and clothing which is not returned to her after laundry service. Some of the nurses have been wonderful. The activities coordinator is the best I have ever seen. The directors have been aloof, unfriendly, and unresponsive. It is great that their is a doctor present daily, but sometimes she fails to get our permission for services and does not inform us of services.

I was not impressed with The Haworth Center at Baptist Manor at all. It had an odor, and this odor was outstanding. The people were all in their wheelchairs clustered around the nurses station. I didn't like that either. They were re-doing their outside area for the residents. However, I didn't even give it a second thought. Once I left, I knew I could cross it off my list. It was a much older place. The rooms I saw were smaller. The staff was nice, but they weren't as friendly as at the other community. I would not recommend The Haworth Center at Baptist Manor.

The Baptist Manor is very nice and comfortable. It's very good and convenient, it's near shopping places and my family. The facilities are nice also. They have good activities and exercises for the people in the community. They also have a medical building and you can also go outside if you need to see your doctor.

We went to The Haworth Center at Baptist Manor. It seemed like they took very good care of their people. The person who showed us around seemed very knowledgeable, but I thought it was quite outdated. They needed new paint, new carpet, and new furnishings. Everything looked old, worn, and not clean, and there was some odor in there, which turned me off immediately.

I didn't like The Haworth Center at Baptist Manor at all. I wouldn't put my mother there. The setup in the building was very bad. All of the residents were forced to leave their rooms at a certain time, and so they all congregate in the halls. They don't separate the Alzheimer's patients from the non-Alzheimer's patients. The staff seemed attentive. The room that I saw was pretty small. It should have a big window, but the closet was pretty big, and the bathroom was fine.

I got mom in The Haworth Center at Baptist Manor. They’ve been great over there; she really likes it. They would accept the Medicare waiver once mom’s money runs out. It’s nice and friendly. There are plenty of people there for her to talk to. It’s a little small, but there is a place in the back that she can go out and visit. They have all kinds of activities. Once a month, they take her out somewhere; they have trips. One of the problems we had was that we couldn’t get her to eat and now, and she’s eating a lot better; she likes the food. I liked The Haworth Center at Baptist Manor the best.

Baptist Manor was an excellent facility. It was cheaper, but they had a two-year waiting list. It has amenities -- but not as many -- they have meals, and they have a kitchen.

Baptist Manor had an excellent facility, and they were outstanding. The staff was excellent. I saw the studio, but it was not functional; they had to remodel it, and it was small. They had a little kitchenette in there. It’s clean; I didn’t smell any odors. It was attractive and safe.

I didn't like Baptist Manor. I especially didn't like the fact that all I had was a room. It was a small bedroom with a chest in it and a bed and that was it, as far as what I would have. You go down the hallway and at the end of the hallway, there was a sitting area and there was a small TV there. I just didn't like it. The grounds looked nice. They had different apartments around the building that those rooms were in that may have been for independent living but the particular one that I looked at, it was just a small bedroom and a chair. I wasn't satisfied with that at all. The décor in there was awful as well. They could offer more room for you to live in. They needed a space that was just for watching TV instead of just out the middle of the floor in the hallway. I didn't understand that. Whatever they showed me, I didn't like it.

Mom stayed at Baptist Manor for eight years. It was very affordable. It was convenient because my mom was in the independent living and she could visit dad, who was then in the assisted living, every day because they were close to each other. I thought her room was nice. However, she was blind and her toilet overflowed. That upsets her a lot. They needed to update their plumbing. The meals weren't so good too.

The Baptist manor is affordable and we chose this for my dad. My mother lived there for ten years and I'm very happy with it. They can live independently and yet there's somebody there to check on them every day. They have an emergency button which is worn around their neck so they can call for assistance any time. The apartments are of nice size and very clean. My father has a wound that needs to be cared for and a nurse can do that if I can't come over. He had food delivered to him 3 times a day. They need a better activities director though.

The Baptist Manor was very nice and I loved it. The staff was very nice and courteous. I really enjoyed my visit and would have loved to move in there. It's just that I had a credit problem and had filed for bankruptcy, so I couldn't get in. The best thing about it is that they provide all the services that you need.

I visited Baptist Manor when I was looking for a place for myself. Their staff were very, very friendly and I really enjoyed the place. I enjoyed the setup of the quad where you can walk directly into your home. It has a little porch in the front and an attached garage. Also, if sometimes I didn't want to cook for myself, I can just go to the cafeteria to eat the meals the meals they have there.

It was the only one we found with subsidized housing so first of all, my mom can afford it. There she can live in independent living (because she didn't quite need assisted living) but they bring all of her resources to her. She just needed some help with independent living so they bring whatever help she needs to her and her apartment because she cant afford a regular apartment. The place is like a college campus for older people but it still feels like home because the staff there was really sweet. They have like 35 acres of land around them. There's not a single thing mom needs because everything is provided for her there. They have transportation, food delivery, housekeeping if she needs it and whatever her needs are they give her a social worker to talk to about it. Mom said the food is really good. It's like a buffet every night. They just have different things set up for them everyday so she can chose what she like and what she doesn't wanna do. Mom is so happy! I'm really contented.

I think Baptist Manor of Farmington Hills, Michigan is an excellent choice for placement for someone who prefers to live independently and who is looking for an apartment for themselves, a friend or a family member to live in. The Baptist Manor is a faith based non profit senior living community apartment complex. The common areas are on a 35 acres campus in Farmington Hills, Mi and it is simply gorgeous and it is beautifully coordinated in a wooded cul-de-sac neighborhood. The surrounding neighborhood is beautifully landscaped and is coordinated and tailored with perfection. The senior community is in a 0% crime rate neighborhood. I could almost smell the pine trees they are so beautiful this time of the year. The residents love it there and they enjoy spending time interacting with one another there also. They offer their residents an array of supportive services and amenities there. There community there is for seniors 62 and older, but they will accept underage residents with mobility and they are given a specialty designed assessable apartment. They also offer affordable rent based on the individuals income and all utilities are included in the residents' rent also. 3 savory nutritional meals, housekeeping, laundry services, personal care available, and pets are also welcomed. They also provide 24/7 staff on site in each building for the residents' everyday needs. In general, I would rank this facility a five stars rating for their excellence and expertise in seniors affordable living lifestyle.
