Our tour experience with The Waters of Edina was very good. The people were very cordial. The residents that we met along the way were friendly. We were able to see apartments that were already occupied. I talked to residents, and they were very, very happy there. The facility itself was quite lovely. It was very open, airy, and felt more modern. We looked at 2-bedroom apartments with a den. They were big so they were a really nice size. They had very big walk-in closets. The bathrooms were huge and really nice. They had two balconies off their rooms. One was off of the master bedroom and one off of the living/dining room. They include housekeeping once a week for their residents. It had a full kitchen and a full laundry room with a nice sized washer and dryer. They had a long list of activities. They got lovely spaces, if you want to have a family gathering (you just have to reserve it in advance). They also had a nice library and a small pool that was used for water aerobics. It was just quite a bit more expensive to live there. They charge $80 a month for a storage place, $90 a month for a garage, and $650 a month for an additional person. There is a fee for having a pet, too. The meal plan was included, but you could have it taken out of your rent if you don't want it.

Beautiful building but the place has terrible management . The Director of nursing does not return messages left by my mother nor myself . Everything is an extra charge

We liked The Waters of Edina. It was very spacious; but when you get into the memory care area, you would not know. The hallways were very minimal. There's a wide open space in the middle. It's very welcoming and well appointed with furniture and very bright. It's just like daylight in there compared to a hallway. The staff was very knowledgeable. The room was a decent and workable size. They had a calendar of stuff like everybody else. There was a big room and big bathroom, and it very easily accommodated somebody with a walker or a wheelchair. Everything was in this unit, if you will. All the housing fit off this main big area. You didn't feel like you were being stuck in a room. They had an outdoor patio area. They had all the amenities there.

It is a high cost fatality that truthfully is poorly run and when you have a loved one move in it is very hard to relocate them. They make friends there and as a family member you don't want to disrupt them. Truthfully the food is not good the service from maintenance and staff except nursing is not good. The costs keep increasing and the activities become less and service worse. The costs here to the benefit are not in line. Some of the staff are good and seem to care for the people but overall they are a profit organization. Mistakes on billings std always in there favor and pretty constant. If we could move our loved one without the disruption it would cause we would do it in a heartbeat.

I am a daughter to a current, but not for long, resident. The facilities themselves are very nice and there are many things that The Waters offers but it all comes at a very high price. We paid that price for two years but as my mothers condition changed so did the attitude of her being a candidate to stay at The Waters. She now needs more memory care living and even though The Waters has a memory care wing she was not deemed the right candidate for their memory care. We are now being forced to relocate her again and if anyone that has a loved one that has early stage Alzheimer’s knows familiarity and routine are all they may know. We now have to start that journey over with our loved one. Please do your research before settling with The Waters. There are a lot of great places, equally as luxurious, but better equipped to handle more then two levels of seniors needs.

The Waters was one of the high-end places we saw. It basically has apartments instead of rooms, you get a full, functional apartment with a full kitchen. They have just about everything, including a advanced work-out equipment. It's laid out nice and it's in a convenient location from the highway. Some of the food is good, some is not good, but the specials have been pretty good. The staff was nice, but one of the nurses messed up my mom's meds.

I liked the feel of The Waters of Edina; it was open and sunny and had a very nice mixture of people. The staff was wonderful. They offered tons of activities to do, like different kinds of exercise classes, water aerobics in the saltwater pool, and outings to shows and grocery stores twice a week. They had big, beautiful rooms. I can look out the bedroom window where I'm moving into and can see the gorgeous Colonial Church of Edina and a pond. There's a very lovely shopping center nearby called 50th & France.

My sister liked the setup very much at The Waters of Edina. They have spiritual, physical, and all sorts of different supports for her. The apartments were 100 years old, so they are very nice. The staff services and the appearance of the place were quite good. It is very well done.
