I visited this facility
I visited Friendship Village of Dublin. The one-bedroom apartment was extremely small. It was very expensive because you had to buy in. The facility was a little outdated but had some nice amenities, like a nice workout room. They had some modernized apartments, but they were not available when I was there. They had some places that my mom would have found acceptable, but the one-bedroom that they wanted to put her in felt really confined. The dining room was OK and had a very 70s feel to it. The amount that they wanted for the buy-in seemed like it was not matched appropriately.

I visited this facility
Friendship Village of Dublin seemed very nice and a clean place, but it was out of our price range. The residents were very well cared for and were happy. The staff seemed very pleasant, nice and caring. The rooms and activity area are very stylish, even the hallway was very clean and fresh.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
I visited a relative of a friend who was staying at this facility and spent an afternoon there, in which I was able to observe several different events/daily activities that happened. I was impressed with the interactions with the staff, how caring and nurturing they were with the residents. I was also there during a meal in which several residents went down to a dining room to eat (as opposed to having the food brought to their rooms) and again, the staff was nurturing and patient. I witnessed a very sad situation in which a woman was asking for her husband (who had passed several years prior), and the way the staff handled her was touching and compassionate.

I am a friend or relative of resident
My grandfather attended this facility when his dementia started kicking in. After seeing the relatively poor facility my grandmother lived in in another city, we wanted to make the right decision. I guess we got lucky. Friendship village is a lovely nursing home. The staff has been nothing but helpful and nice; they have really focused on creating a friendship (hence the name of the place) with their residents. Most of the staff knows my grandpa by name, which is good because there's such an abundant work force. A lot of the servers in the dining hall even stop by to talk to me. They share stories about my grandpa and tell of how much they love him. In all, I really like where he's at. I know he's in good hands.
