I visited this facility

We have decided on Good Samaritan Society - Denton Village. They had everything that we wanted. We didn't see the actual room that we were desiring, but we saw a 1-bedroom apartment and we wanted a 2-bedroom. It was very clean, and the layout was nice. The apartment was big. It had a washer and dryer in the room, which was one of the things that my wife wanted. The host was very nice. They had a food plan, where you could independently go there and it's $9 a meal. The place was nice and clean, and the people were very friendly. People came up to us, and said how much they enjoyed being there. So, it was a good experience and that's why we made the choice. They had a nice workout room with nice equipment. The dining area was very nice, and the food was excellent. It was enough for two meals, so we took half of it home. It was very tasty.

Really appreciated the personal tour of facilities. So well keep and such attention to detail regarding the sanitizing process. Some many options for Senior living with everything I will ever need in my retirement. Definitely will be back to sign up in my retirement.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband is in a private room at Good Samaritan Society - Denton Village and he is happy, so I like the place. The place is very nice, clean, and I like the people working there. The activity director plays games with the residents and reads to them. They do painting. So far, my husband's needs have been met. I love the director of social services because he's very responsive to patients' needs and he's very helpful. He doesn't let you wait, and does things immediately. The staff is very responsive and I appreciate that. The food is wonderful and very tasty. It's like in a restaurant. The place is good, clean, and large.

I visited this facility

We've been to Good Samaritan Society - Denton Village many times to visit people. My visits have always been really nice. The people were helpful, friendly, and informative. We don't have any complaints. The people we know there and need nursing home care have overall been really pleased with the care. They've been very pleased with the activities provided, the meals, and the whole operation.

I visited this facility

I liked Denton Good Samaritan Village because it's in a good area. I liked everything except that some of their helpers weren't very good. They had a lot of things going on for the residents, like bingo, church, and parties all the time. The food was good. They had one- and two-bedroom units, cottages, and apartments that were out on the campus. Their amenities included transportation, housekeeping, and meals. They also had a really nice exercise room, beauty salon, and barber shop. The staff who showed us the rooms were really informative, but some of the staff members didn’t seem excited nor seemed to care. Their services were regular independent living, nursing home, and assisted living.

I visited this facility

I visited Good Samaritan. It's so large, and there's so many people, but it's a very nice place. Everyone I know that lived there has really been happy there. They take very good care of the people there. It had a nursing center, spacious rooms, activities, and transportation if you want to go shopping or go to the doctor.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is in the independent living care at Good Samaritan Society. They are not new, and they are not as nice and fancy, even though they work like slaves to keep it nice. But mother’s water has turned off about once or twice a month, sometimes without warning. They have activities, and they are very good with that. They have different things like Wii, card games, domino games, and birthday parties. There is always something fun, and they take them to places. My mother does not participate in anything, but they do offer it. Her room is quite adequate. Their dining experience is very positive. You have to pay extra for the food, but it is good food ,and they have a really good chef on-board.

Good Samaritan was very appealing to me. They have a good facility and plenty of activities. They have bingo, bridge, and dominos. They have exercise and days that you could go visit the college and eat lunch. I will be moving in here. I am getting a duplex, and I am going to prepare my own meals. The people were very friendly and looked very happy.

I visited this facility

I had my name on the waiting list at Good Samaritan Society. I really did like the place, and it’s a lot newer. The food was very good; the rooms were very nice. Everything was updated. They had nice-sized closets, and you had a good choice of floor plans. They give you a monthly calendar of all the events each day, and you go through whatever you feel like. If you put in a lump sum of money, your rent per month is decreased by a certain percentage.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm currently living in Good Samaritan Society - Denton Village, and I love it. It's wonderful. The employees and residents are happy, it's Christian-based, but we welcome everyone here, and even though it's an older building, there's always upgrades and they keep it very nice and fresh. The food is optional, and the prices seem reasonable. There are so many activities that you can't go to all of them. They overlap, so there's lots to do. There's a little store here that you can go to if you run out of toilet paper, and if you can't get to the grocery store right away, they have a few food items in there. It seems like we've worked together as a community, and the other thing that a other people have found to be very nice here is that it's a continuing care. We have everything here except for memory care. We have a rehab wing, I have gone there one time for some rehabilitation, and I thought it was excellent.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I have several friends at Good Samaritan. I also belong to a club, and this is where we meet on the third Saturday of each month, so we go over there for that part of it. The lady that I work with is always really nice. They have their good points also, and I think it is very nice. Of course, it is an older facility, but they are upgrading now, so they are rebuilding a lot of things in there. I think they are kind of staying on top of things. It is not as posh, but I think the updates should even be better. They have a lot of activities, and we really go in and play for them from time to time. I know they have a lot of arts and crafts, so there are a lot of things for them to do. I don't think they do any road trips, but they have a lot of things going on. They do have a bus that you can sign up to use. It is comfortable. My mother was there for a while, and so was my mother-in-law, and they had some good experiences.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Good Samaritan Society is very nice. I have friends who live there, and they are very happy with it. The maintenance is really good. One of my friend's rooms is small, but he seems to be pleased. He is a very social person even though he is in a wheelchair, and he seems to be happy there. It is a very large facility, and I think they have a lot of activities. My friend is in the nursing home there, and I think they don't have enough help in the dining room, but I am sure that's a problem with all of them. However, I think my friends feel like it's a home for them.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm a current resident of Good Samaritan Society. It was a good move. I chose this facility because they fit my needs and also because of their care. The staff would go out to help us. They have lots of games and lots of exercise program. They also would take us out to eat and take us out to places.
