University Retirement Community was lovely, everything about it was very nice, and there was a swimming pool across the street. But we've had to use air conditioning about seven or eight months per year, and I don't care for that. The staff was fine, and the food was great.

We loved the University Retirement Community. The food was excellent. The people were friendly, but they would not accept us financially, which was a huge disappointment. It’s a continuing care/retirement community, but it’s type B, so the fees go up with each level of care which could make it very expensive if you had to go to memory care. The one-bedroom apartment that we could have taken was very small with absolutely no closet space. For two people, it would never have worked so that made it not so good, and the other thing was they wouldn’t accept our dog. It would have been our first choice because our two adult children live very close, but there was a waiting list and nothing available.

University Retirement Community is a top-notch place. The rooms were more than adequate. The staff is excellent and very attentive. The food was excellent; we had a wonderful meal there. They do adult learning right within the building. They have water aerobics. They have a pool for free swimming, photography, arts -- just about anything you’d want.

My in-laws chose University Retirement Community. The apartment was spacious. Really good food options, very nice independent-living arrangements, lots of activities, and not overcrowded.

Th complex itself seems like it was originally designed as a dormitory or housing complex for students. However everything is easily accessible for the current retirees residing there now. The staff is very professional and they all take pride in their work. The only suggestion i would make to the staff is that they do a better job maintaining the landscape in and around the complex.
