I visited this facility

Sunrise of Danville has been very helpful in making my elderly mother’s transition from skilled nursing facility to assisted living a very good one. My mother requires a lot of help and care. Sunrise staff members have done an exellent job in attending to her needs. April the the Marketing Director has been exceptionally AWESOME in helping in making this transition for my mother and our family as smooth as possible. It has been a great experience for us. Thank you Sunrise!

I visited this facility

Sunrise of Danville was gorgeous. I would move there myself. It appeared to be very good. They have a locked-down facility. They're very, very nice. It's really beautiful, it's supportive, it's friendly, and it's safe. You can't get much better. Some of the rooms were small if it was a single person, but they have rooms for two people. What was kind of nice is that if you were married or something, you could have a shared room. The food looked nice where they eat. They had a piano, which was kind of nice. They had it set up for videos to watch movies and things. Everybody was very nice. The dining area looked like a small restaurant. Everybody seemed pretty happy. Some people appeared to be friends sitting at the same table. The staff was great, very pleasant, friendly, and obliging to the residents. They seemed to know most of the residents and say hello, good morning, or whatever. It was impeccable. Everything was perfectly clean. They have a beautiful outdoor sitting area with flowers, etcetera, and a table where you could sit if you wanted to.

I visited this facility

I find Sunrise of Danville very clean, and the environment was very nice. I toured their assisted living. The one staff that we talked to was very friendly and informative. The environment was really good; I liked it. The staff was helpful with understanding and trying to help out with my sister's need for skilled care. She was trying to make some other suggestions to help us. The dining room was very nice. It seems more like family-oriented dining.

I visited this facility

We went to Sunrise of Danville. It was about an hour and a half from us, but it was in the area where my mother lives. It was the same as the other Sunrise facility we saw. They had activities like live music with a piano player, wine hour, talks about different things, art activities, and exercise activities. Nobody is forced to participate in the activities.

I really liked Sunrise of Danville for my husband, but it was too small and there was only one male resident. It wasn't all dedicated to memory care, but it was comfortable, homey, nice, and clean. I love the location because it's five minutes from my house. I love that they have a dog; my husband loves dogs. The staff was wonderful. The dining room was very cute.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Sunrise of Danville was a good place, but Dad was in the dementia unit, which was pretty understaffed. If you're looking to place someone with dementia, I would think twice about going there. Otherwise, the rest of the place was wonderful. The Reminiscence Neighborhood, which was the dementia ward, was a little less to be desired.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My husband stayed for two months at Sunrise. I chose it because it was clean, airy, and bright. The residents there were well cared for. They were pleasant. The staff was very helpful, and very caring right from the start. The grounds were beautiful, very relaxing, and peaceful. I had some meals there with my husband, and the meals were top-notched. They were very good food. He was very pleased. The table had tablecloths, the people would get whatever you wanted to have, and there were choices too. It was a very pleasant experience actually, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like a place that people would care about you. They had a lot of activities. They had singing groups. They had people come in to entertain. They had a resident dog, and he was a sweetheart. It was a beautiful place.

I visited this facility

Sunrise of Danville was a little pricey; I can't quite afford it. They're very well-kept, and they offer every amenity you could want. It's the cream of the crop. The good thing about them is they're also assisted and had a nurse 24/7 on the premises. The amenities, the staff, and the meals were excellent. They're restaurant-style and had about five different choices for main entrées.

Sunrise of Danville was absolutely perfect. The only thing -- it was smaller. But everything else was just wonderful. It was very clean, and everybody was very nice. They took me on a tour and showed me everything, and I was pleased with what I saw. It seemed perfect for my needs. The staff treated me very well. Everybody was courteous, friendly, and helpful.

My mother-in-law is happily settled in Sunrise. I like everything about it. The staff is caring, attentive, and involved. The room is sufficient. I have eaten there a few times, and the food is excellent. They have lots of activities. They have exercise classes, bingo, and recreational drives around the community. The have music events, holiday festivities, and summer barbeques. Grounds are beautiful, and they have a garden. However, the only drawback is that it is very pricey.

I visited this facility

I visited Sunrise of Danville and I thought that the staff was very caring and informative. They were able to give me a tour in that facility. They told me what they specifically offer. I think that was a good thing. My mother didn't need to be in a facility that's strictly for just dementia patients, but my father did. Sunrise of Danville was a combination of both which I thought was good.

Sunrise of Danville is an excellent place, but it's expensive. The facility is warm and nice, but institutionalized although for me that is not a big deal. The staff was fine.

Sunrise didn't seem like an assisted living to me. It seemed more like a motel. The staff was okay and nice; however, I waited quite a few minutes waiting for someone to help me. But when they did, they came and they were nice. They showed me around. I looked at a few rooms. It's not what I expected. To me, they were kind of small. They have quite a few activities like dances, bingo, crafts, get-togethers, events and they take seniors on trips. They also celebrate events like certain holiday season and birthdays.

Sunrise of Danville was the other one we really liked for my mother. I found it also online. They're quite a little bit higher priced but I'm really impressed with them. They were very friendly. All the residents seemed very happy, active and that was very impressive. They seemed to have a lot of activities going on when we were there and the people were joining in. That was impressive as well. I especially liked that they really got their residents involved and they in turn seemed to like being there. That was a plus for me! However, my mom's mobility through this facility was difficult. It just didn't fit my mom's needs. It was an excellent facility and very clean too.

We went to Sunrise in Danville and that was the only community that we visited. It's a lot more better than a nursing home. Right now, our search for care is on hold. We're fine for now. If my father-in-law will be needing a place, this is going to be the one. But my dad is not ready for this. I must say that everybody in the community was very helpful, especially the staff. It's a nice visit.

I had a very positive experience with this facility. The volunteers I worked with were very enthusiastic and happy to be there. The seniors who lived there seemed to be happy and in good spirits. They seemed well cared for and genuinely enjoyed the company of the volunteers. They expressed their gratitude for our services. While I was there I was able to look at the dining commons and some of the rooms where the seniors lived. The dining commons and the bedrooms were very nicely decorated and kept up very well. My tasks usually involved cooking, reading and playing board games with the seniors. The room in which I played games and read books was decorated nicely and very clean. There was always a supervisor who worked there monitoring the volunteers and walking around to make sure that we were all doing our jobs. Overall, I would say I had a very positive experience at Sunrise Senior Living.

I am a past client of this provider

When you first enter the facility it is impressive..and the staff is friendly. After sitting with administration..it seemed affordable and wonderful fit. Soon that changed..the management started adding.on fees.for every little thing...my father's fees jumped almost $3000 by the time.Needless to.say..I was taken advantage of..his health did not change..but her monthly fees did!! When I sat down with administration again to discuss they told me it is cost of living and would not work with me to keep my father there. They asked me to give a 30 day notice. I visited other facilities..in which one told me that Sunrise does that when they no longer want a resident there...or the resident is disruptive during tours of the facility... I have since moved my father...and have learned a valuable lesson...when choosing a facility...ask upfront about fees/levels...don't get impressed by the exterior...be impressed by interior management...Sunrise is like a ferrari without an engine!!
