My aunt lived in Independent Living at the Forum for several years. After a broken hip she wanted to return to the Forum and was put in the memory care area. Neither she nor the family were happy . We found in that area a lack of activities which she was accustomed to. We also walking through the hall could smell urine from another resident’s room which was very close to the receptionist ‘s desk and close to the area the nurse is as well as the aides. It was I who called their attention to the odor. The worst thing that happened was my sister-in-law requested a UTI test be taken for my aunt. Two days later I also requested that test to be taken.. 11 days after the requests my aunt was taken by ambulance to the hospital for pain. It was found she had a UTI infection which caused AFIB and a pocket of infection in her lung. The dr treating her at Riverside requested the results of UTI test we requested at the Forum. The nurse hadn’t called us back, my sister-in -law went there and the nurse said she would get results but then wasn’t in office when SIL went back. I then called and surprise.. no UTI test was taken as we asked for twice. My aunt was never able to fight back and died!

We were very happy with The Forum at Knightsbridge. It looked really good. We were very happy with the people who we met. They were very friendly and very professional. There seemed to be plenty of people there to take care of my mother.

I had a very nice experience at The Forum. I had lunch with some of the residents. I looked at the community, and it seemed very pleasant. The dining area was very lovely, the service was wonderful, and the food was good. The marketing person took me around, and at that point I just didn’t know. They did seem to have adequate space around the place. Right now they don’t have the 2-bedrooms available; they only have the expensive apartments.

My father was first put with a patient that we were later told never is roomed with anyone due to the severity of his condition. After a miserable and sleepless night he was moved but his confidence in the facility was rightfully shaken. The next night he waited for over an hour to have assistance to the toilet and was told that he'd just have to wait as the technician had 18 patients and pooping wasn't a priority. The stress was great on his fragile system and we went back to the hospital the next day. The nurses who had cared for him before Knightsbridge were shocked at the damage 48 hours had done. I would never suggest this place. It looks nice and the food is good. If you can care for yourself then it might be a good choice. But it us NOT a good choice for medical assistance of any kind. And the attitude that the nurses gave us when we decided to take him back to OSU was horrendous. You would think we were dipping directly into their pay! They told us to ignore his 'antics' and go home. I don't think needing help to breath or get to a toilet is antics. Those nurses need continuing education in compassion. They will grow old and require assisted too. I hope they get exactly what they've given.

As a resident in Independent Living at The Forum at Knightsbridge for the last year and a half, I can heartily recommend it as the next best thing to home. The administration and staff bend over backwards to make sure each need and most wants are readily addressed: the apartments (many different floorplans) are spacious, the décor tasteful, the food delicious, and the activities varied enough to suit all interests – as all senior living should be. One of the qualities that makes The Forum unique is the omnipresent sense of hospitality and inclusion. New residents are quickly made to feel at home by other residents and are able to make their transition to communal living with ease. The administration encourages and appreciates the exchange of ideas from residents via a resident council with standing committees concerned with activities, food, and welcome, though the office door is always open to individuals at any time. It’s long been my suspicion that one of the requirements for employment at The Forum is an ability to be happy in one’s work – frowns are rare here, and efficiency with a smile is standard. I was privileged to see this in action several weeks ago when the frigid weather that’s plagued the entire country this winter brought some damage in the middle of the night to the public areas of The Forum: the entire maintenance staff was called back in after they’d made it to their own homes through some rather treacherous road conditions. These ten or so men returned to The Forum and worked quickly and professionally, even a bit enthusiastically, from can to can’t, emptying the lounge area, offices, exercise room, and library of furniture, stemming the flow from broken pipes and preparing for the first stages of repair. Most of them were here all night, as was our executive director, some still here at noon the next day. The weather hasn’t quit its onslaught, nor have the shovels and blowers for snow removal outside, making inside and out safe for the residents. I’ve run out of superlatives, except to say that I wouldn’t be surprised to hear a chorus or two of “Whistle While You Work” whenever the next project crops up. The Forum residents remain safe, warm, well-fed, and lucky to be here.

I have no personal relationship with the management or any of those employed by this institution. My professional experience, when I was employed, was in industry and in higher education where I held senior administrative positions. In that capacity, I witnessed good and poor administration and in that context, I wish to comment about the environment that both my wife, in Assisted Living because she has Alzheimer’s Disease, and I, in Independent Living, are experiencing. It is my view that senior administrators in any institution or organization are the environment creators for everyone in their organization. In my judgment, the Executive Director, Rebecca, NHA, is an outstanding administrator of The Forum at Knightsbridge. I’ve arrived at that conclusion after more than two years in residence at the Forum from among the following: 1. By her great sensitivity to the needs of all residents and her ready availability to address residents’ concerns 2. By her open-door policy with respect to all employees at The Forum regardless of position 3. Her willingness to share with her staff weekend time needs at the Forum 4. The lack of a hierarchical structure with a concomitant “pecking” order 5. Her receptivity to make changes in the facility based upon available financial resources from the corporate organization 6. Her support of programmatic changes that will enhance residents’ happiness 7. Her readiness to do anything herself, however mundane, if it will improve the immediate environment Those are attributes that one would hope to see in any senior administrator, but especially in senior housing where the recipients might not have the mobility to move from a less than optimal environment. The Forum at Knightsbridge is very fortunate to have such an outstanding Executive Director.

We knew of The Forum at Knightsbridge because we live in that area. That facility was excellent! I did not eat there but we were there during meals being served and it smelled great. What impressed me the most with this facility was the interaction of the staff with the residents. Overall, that would be the only one I visited that I would give the highest rating to. It would be the right place if the price was not an issue.

Everything at Forum at Knightsbridge was clean and well maintained. But they don't have much activities.

The Forum is my second choice. It is a little bit older place than the other facility that I had visited. The problem I have with this facility is that if I needed assisted living, I would have to move to another facility. Also, they did have transportation services but you have to pay for its services. It is not free. However, what I hate to give up with The Forum is that they have apartments with terraces that overlook nice scenery.

The Forum at Knightsbridge was a very nice facility and a little more expensive. The staff were very nice and very good. Everybody was very nice. There was no contention about how good this facility is, but it really went down to the cost. So we didn't feel like it was a right fit for my mother-in-law.

Forum at Knightsbridge has a dietitian that makes meals more for the needs of the residents. Unless you have a medical reason that you need a special meal.

Their rehab facility is clean. My sister has a semi-private room there now. She's getting some physical therapy and help her to get some balance. She has some issues with getting dizzy. The staff are friendly and nice.

My mother is a resident at The Forum at Knightsbridge and the facility has many wonderful employees who do a great job caring for my mother. In the past I have noted on many occasions about such care. However, when I express a legitimate complain or concern with certain members of the administration, I am sometimes met with unpleasant resistance. On May 12, 2013 I was informed there was an outbreak of scabies in the assisted living area of the facility. And, my mother, who is wheel chair bound was one of those who has scabies. How does this happen?
