I went to tour Broadmoor Court Assisted Living. I liked that it was so spacious and I know that everything there was structured in terms of scheduling. They had breakfast, lunch, and dinner scheduled at certain times of the day. Everything seemed to work out to a tee. My aunt personally didn't like it just because the atmosphere was a bit more like a nursing home, I guess. It seemed a bit more medical. The staff during the tour was engaging. We just had to wait at the front desk for a little bit and she took care of us from there, and gave us a tour of the whole facility. They showed us around, and gave us a couple of sample rooms to look at, and it was a smooth tour. The dining room was very open, so I could see why my aunt didn't like it so much. She likes to keep her meals to herself. She likes to be private sometimes. The dining area was right next to the main lobby where you enter. They have an elevator down to the main floor where the dining area is and from there, everything is congregated. The facility looked very nice and very well-kept. They have certain areas for the residents to roam and just do exercise outside. Everything there was very well kept. They had their own garden and everything. It's just, for my aunt, it wasn't homey enough.

My father has moved into Broadmoor Court Assisted Living. It seemed bright and felt like a happy place when we went in. The staff seemed very helpful and kind. It was also Medicaid certified, so that's partly what we were looking for my father, and I felt like it was just a nice facility and it seemed like it met all of his needs. He has a room to himself right now. It's two rooms, so it's like a living room, a kind of bedroom area, a small bathroom, and in the entryway, it has like a refrigerator or you could have a microwave in there if you wanted. And it has closet space. One time when we were going there, they had bingo going on. They seem to have many activities. They take people to the store at least once a week, either like Walmart or Dollar Tree or something. It sounds like they go on scenic drives around the town, and they bring in entertainment and things like that for people. We're just really new to the community, but everything I've seen so far, I've been pretty happy with. It seemed like everybody I met was very helpful, kind, patient, and understanding. I have a good feeling about the staff. Part of the reason we chose that facility is because it's very clean and kept up well. It was more money than my dad was hoping to pay. One of the first places we saw that was only Medicaid was terrible and I would not have my father go there, so I knew it was going to cost a little bit more money to have something a little bit more decent. Overall, assisted living is expensive.

I had an in-person tour of Broadmoor Court Assisted Living. The tour was very nice. It seemed like the staff was very knowledgeable. One thing I was impressed with was, as they walked me through, they seemed to know the names of everybody we ran into, and all the people that were staying there. They knew them personally. They gave me a very thorough tour. I really liked the dining area and the way they set that up. The rooms were nice. They have the shared rooms downstairs and the single rooms upstairs. I got to tour both, and they seemed adequate. They had singers come in and play music. They had church services at particular times of the week, which I was also impressed with. I think they're faith-based assisted living. They told me that they had some exercise-type things, some sitting down, and some not. I know they walk a lot of the patrons. She took me outside and showed me where they would walk when it was warm. You can walk all the way around the place. I know they have different sitting rooms around. There were puzzles, games, and a TV.

I had an in-person tour of Broadmoor Court Assisted Living. I found the place to be quite pleasant, very open space, light, and airy. It seemed like a small community and it seemed intimate. I only spoke with the admissions lady, and she was excellent. Just from my first impression, the facility seemed clean enough. They tried to keep everybody active. I don't know exactly what they do, but it was like they have activity. I was able to see the rooms, and the setup was a double occupancy. It's not ideal because they don't have a whole lot of privacy with each other, so that is probably the only downside.

Broadmoor Court Assisted Living was good. I liked the activities that they were doing with the residents. The person that I spoke with was very kind and she did a great tour. The shared rooms were really small and some of them were close to the hallway. Mom currently lives in Colorado Springs, so it'd be an easier move than Pueblo.

Broadmoor Court Assisted Living was the least favorable of the four places I went to. The menu there is repeated week after week. There's not much of a selection. The accessibility is not as good as the other ones. The staff was very good; however, a fire alarm went off while I was there. They didn't know what it was right away, and I knew as soon as I heard it. The rooms are cramped. There wasn't much room to maneuver around in each room. There were places to get together and visit with other residents, but getting from one place to another was not convenient.
