I visited this facility

The Village at Eastgate was good. It's a little more expensive than the other place, but that would be my number two choice. It was nice. I told them that I would want a first floor and they told me that that costs a little more and I said that was OK. I thought their facilities were good. They had a salon where they do your hair. They didn't have a manicurist. You get one meal included in your rent. You have to pay extra if you want lunch and breakfast, but you have an equipped kitchen in your apartment so you fix your own meals. I didn't meet too many of the staff, but the lady who showed me around was really nice and very helpful.

The Village at Eastgate has been very cooperative. It seems the place that I'm probably going to go to. I liked the layout. The rooms and the apartments were adequate. They weren't overly large, but they were adequate. The activities that they offer were exactly what I was looking for. Like they go out to lunch, games, exercise, religious meetings, and things like that. They have church there twice on Sunday, which was what I was looking for. I do not have to go out of the building unless I want to. Everything is compact. The staff was very cooperative, and it was just a very nice experience. I'm looking for assisted living. I don't need help with everything, but I like the fact that there is someone there if I need help. Everything is right there. There's a nurse on hand and a doctor within minutes if that's needed. There are emergency bells in each room, so if I fall or whatever, I can get help there. They have studios up to two-bedroom-two-baths. And I would be able to keep my car, so I can drive, too.

We chose The Village at Eastgate, because of its location. It's beautiful. It's got a big lake at the back with fountains. It's got a gazebo, and some of the residents tend to a garden. It's just really a nice, pretty place. My sister is in a studio apartment. Since it's just her, she doesn't need anything really big, but they have different sizes for different prices. You can even get one with a spouse if you wanted to. Hers is a bedroom with a small kitchenette and a bathroom with all the bars. It's all about safety. Your rent covers your basic cable TV, one meal a day, and there's free coffee and donuts in the morning, but you have the option to buy breakfast and lunch. Just whatever you choose to buy. The staff is very nice. Especially the lady that's in charge. She's super. My sister hasn't been there that long to get involved in anything, but they have entertainment on Saturday night, an exercise room, a little company store, a beauty shop, bingo, arts and crafts, and just about anything you could think of.

Determining if, The Village at Eastgate, provided the needs for our mother, we visited several times with her. Discussing several apartment choices with the staff, we learned repainting, or, adding vinyl flooring in kitchen and bath, even, new carpet in living and bedroom if needed. Our mother lives in a beautiful repainted, with new flooring and carpet apartment. It is the perfect size along with handicap rails needed in bath for our mother using a walker. Her view from her bedroom or living room, looks down on the lake by beautiful grounds surrounding a large patio to enjoy the sun including small raised gardens for those residents wanting to keep their hands "in the dirt". The two elevators allow one for moving items giving the other for resident use. Our mother, likes how close the elevator, laundry room even open hallway/game room with windows looking out front to the landscaped grounds. The staff being very cooperative to answer any questions, plus helping and bringing a cart when needed, to cleaning her apartment at another time due to guest visiting. One time our mother, fell on her bottom pulling off her quilt before retiring to bed. She immediately called for the night staff. Two staff members came immediately to help and evaluate if she needed an ambulance. No ambulance needed. There are activities to leave the Village as well as on sight activities. Our mother, likes the ones on sight especially games, cards, crafts, Saturday night performances, or thru the week evening gatherings. Sunday afternoons, draws residents to the large front room to socialize one with another bringing laughter.

The tour at The Village at Eastgate went very well. I liked the woman who takes care of it. She was very nice, very sweet, and very kind. I liked the facility. It's smaller, but it's a very nice community and the people were nice. The room was clean and looked very pleasant and very comfortable. They have a beauty salon, exercises, and speakers come in for discussions. They're active.

I visited this facility

The Village at Eastgate was the tallest of the buildings, but you can get around by elevator. The first floor was very desirable. The rooms were pretty nice. They only provided one meal, which I think was dinner, but they were also the cheapest of the three facilities I visited. Another good thing about them was the church my mom and I attended had services at that place. It's not that big so you could go to different things without any kind of long walk. It would be a lot easier to get around as most of the things are on the ground floor. Tina was the one that gave the tour and she was good.

My mother is a resident of The Village at Eastgate. They were very clean and very orderly. They had it designed for people who have to use a walker like her; it's way better. They bill themselves as independent living, but for more money, you can have people come in and check and bring her food and stuff. So, she's assisted living there. The people are very nice to my mom. They do like older people. It fits what she needs right now. The part is, if she falls one more time, she's going to have to go to a much more stepped-up care than they provide there. So, as long as we don't have another injury, we're fine. The care is very prompt and up. If she calls, they come immediately. They're prompt and pleasant. They're very well trained because when she fell and broke her leg, she said, "Help me get up." They said, "No, you must stay in that spot until the paramedics get here." So, they're well trained, and not just doing what people tell them, on taking control of the situation. They have games, and they have a special dinner program once a month. They have a recreation room, and church services and they have people come in that play music and give shows. My mom's been there for seven or eight years and she likes it. She just didn't know, that if she has to go to a stepped-up level of care, that's not what they are equipped for. It's been a good 7 or 8 years. I give the food that rating, because the problem is being that my mom came from a background where you spice your food, and they don't spice food in these places. It's not as nice as the other facilities were; it's older but it's well-kept and well maintained. They have exercise, yoga instruction, church services, people come in and play music and they have special meals. For the money, it's great.

My mother has moved into The Village at Eastgate assisted living. They have been very nice and very helpful. My mom is very happy there right now, and she loves her apartment and the facility. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. The setup is perfect for someone in a wheelchair. My mom is very happy with the whole apartment. She has a 1-bedroom and the activities are very good too. She enjoys going down and playing bingo 3 times a week and doing crafts.

The proximity of Eastgate Village Retirement Living to my house was a lot closer. The staff was very caring and knowledgeable for my grandfather's needs. So, it would be a good fit for him at the price point that he can afford. They have the salon/barber services and he will have his own kitchenette with a microwave and a sink. So, if he wanted to prepare his own food in his room, he could, or he could use the facility there when they make meals at certain times. The rooms are big enough to be comfortable with his two small dogs with him, and he's able to have access to go outside with them, and walk around the grounds. It's a little bit older since it's been around a lot longer, but everything is great as far as what it offers. It still looks nice.

I looked at the Eastgate Village Retirement Living. The rooms were nice but didn't seem like they had a lot going on as far as activities when I viewed them. The staff that gave the tour was pleasant. The rooms have a full mini-kitchen, including a stove and a refrigerator. They also have a courtyard.

I visited this facility

We toured Eastgate Village Retirement Living. I could only go in certain sections because of COVID, and he just showed me one apartment. I just didn't feel that it was the right fit for my mom, it wasn't very inviting, it was plain, it's getting old, and I think it needs some maintenance done on it. It just wasn't somewhere I would want to live. They weren't having any community stuff, and we could only have one person right now in to visit her, like I would be the only person that could visit her, nobody else.

I was not overly impressed with my tour at Eastgate Village. It was scheduled on a Sunday, but it wasn't a last-minute type thing so they should have been prepared. I only saw one apartment because the woman who showed me around couldn't be away from the office for very long. So it was a hasty tour, but she was nice, friendly, and helpful. They have a general store and they have a hair place. They also have activities.

I visited Eastgate Village. I was not interested mainly because it’s too far away. The people were very friendly. It was an older and smaller facility with small rooms.

Eastgate Village seemed like an older facility and was a little bit more affordable. It had more of a nursing home feel than a retirement community. They did have a nice pond on one side, and the rooms were pretty nice and decent. The people I saw looked like they needed more care.

I took my mother to Eastgate to see it. It looked nice, although it would cost $200 more a month than I can commit. The people seemed nice and it didn't seem like a nursing home. I didn't try their food, but it looked okay. They have puzzles, game nights, trivia nights, and they would go to nearby places for activity. They go across the street to where Eastgate Shopping Center was. I would probably recommend this place to some people, but not all.

My aunt is now at Eastgate Village. It is a nice facility. It is attractive. They provide quite a few services. You can have little care or as much care as you need. They have on-site physical therapy, and doctors would come to your room. They have generous-sized rooms. The staff is friendly. Food is fairly good. Overall, I would recommend this place.

I liked Eastgate Village better because it's less of an assisted living facility, but more apartment-like. My parents do not really need constant care at this point. They have more of your own lifestyle kind of situation there. It has separate apartments in the building, the residents could go downstairs for meals while the caregivers could go upstairs to remind them to take their medicines, and for housekeeping. This place is on the top of my list.
