Wingate Residences at Boylston Place was a really nice facility, and the staff was great. It looked like it was new, the facility was great, there was parking available, and it seemed like people really wanted to help.
Thank you for taking the time to review Boylston Place—we appreciate the kind words! We'd also love to hear from you about what we could do to be a 5 star community. If you have any feedback to share, please give us a call, and we hope you'll visit our community again soon!

Wingate at Chestnut Hill was very nice and had a very nice feel. It's a smaller place and with great common areas. We saw several apartments that were very nice. The staff was great. They had a schedule of what was being done during the day. The food was excellent. The dining area was great.

I am/was a resident of this facility
It's opposite a big shopping area, and people find it very convenient. There's also one of the CVS stores just across the street. I came here for only four weeks respite care because my son was needing to go to Hawaii for a month to take care of business. It's the only place that had a studio apartment for just four weeks. I came here, and I never left -- that gives you an idea of how good Boylston Place at Chestnut Hill is. I have a one-bedroom apartment, and I love it. There are so many services. We have a car that will take you to your doctor's or dentist's appointments, and tomorrow I'm going to the pharmacy; somebody will take me there and pick me up. We get three meals a day, and it isn't just one set meal; we have a big menu. The kitchen is open from 7:00 in the morning until 7:00 at night. You can come in anytime of the day during that time. If you don't feel well, they will deliver meals to your apartment. This place is very expensive though.
There are nurses here either registered or licensed practical nurses 24 hours a day. We have a concierge 24 hours a day, so if I'd get sick at 3:00 in the morning, I could call and tell them to come to my apartment. My apartment is cleaned every week by a woman who also cleans the bathroom and changes the linens for me. You can even have them supply the linens and the towels. I sort of live in an apartment hotel. There are exercise programs and interesting lectures. The other thing that's good about it is it has a nursing home facility right next door, so that if by some chance you'd go to a hospital, come back, and still needs more serious care, you can have it right next door. Also, you can add assisted living services to your programs, but you pay for it. They have a wonderful marketing person who will give you a tour and even a free lunch.

I am a friend or relative of resident
My mother recently moved into Boylston Place after living in her home for the past 40 years. Boylston Place is an outstanding community and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for senior living options. From the moment we walked in, we instantly felt welcomed by the staff and the charming community feel. We had looked at many other places in the area but found none like Boylston Place. Their sales and marketing director helped us through this difficult process from the moment I called her to meeting my mother and helping with the transition. She truly helped us through a challenging and difficult time. She was extremely patient and knowledgeable about what we were going through. My mother was very anxious about this whole process and the team at Boylston helped her and us through it. The staff is very warm and inviting, always available to answer questions no matter how big or small. They are responsive and you can tell they truly care. My mother often raves on how great the food is, she talks about the chefs always making her feel special by making her special meals and always accommodating her requests. She has made quite a few friends in the community, we call her often but she is rarely in her apartment, she always says, "There is always great things going on in the community so I don't plan to sit in my apartment". All of the nurses that work in the community are extremely helpful and patient with my mother as well. We are very pleased with our choice as Boylston Place for my mother. We trust that our mother is in the best place, the team is simply wonderful and we are lucky to have found them.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
My aunt moved to EPOCH Boylston Place at Chestnut Hill and she was very happy there. The facility was high-end. The rooms were quite spacious even the studios. The dining room was open from 7 am to 7:30 pm everyday. There was a nurse on duty 24/7. They had physical therapist and occupational therapist that could come to the room and helped out if the doctor ordered it. They had computer lessons for the residents, which attracted my aunt. There was a private car service seven days a week, so she did not have to worry about getting public transportation or getting rides to her doctors or church service. I would recommend this place to others.

I visited this facility
We visited Boylston Place at Chestnut Hill for my dad. It was a very nice facility. It seemed really great. Their staff also was very nice. It just wasn't so much assisted living and it was more like a retirement community. There was not as much assistance offered there. We just thought that with my dad's particular needs, he was going to need more assisted living.

Boylston Place offers luxury apartments for both independent living and assisted living appropriate residents. It's adjacent to Epoch of Chestnut Hill, a skilled nursing facility and shares a courtyard and some amenities. One of the advantages of being at Boylston Place is that residents are given priority at Epoch Skilled Nursing and Rehab. I've referred clients there and have visited a number of times, so I know it well.
The facility initially served a mostly Jewish population, but now there is more diversity among the residents, and the programming is diverse and inclusive as well.
It's located in the Brookline/Newton area in Chestnut Hill. It's within walking distance of shops and a movie theater, but it's right off a main road and a little distance from public transportation. Parking is an issue in the area generally, but they offer valet parking.
Boylston Place was built about 15 years ago and has 48 units. It was intended to be a high-end, premiere facility, and it still is. It's exclusive, with comparable costs. Each unit is elegantly furnished, using high-end furnishings and materials and has a full galley kitchen. The staff works hard to cater to each resident. This is particularly evident in the dining service.
They have a special sound loop that allows residents to change the setting on their hearing aids in the on-site movie theater, to hear the soundtrack without interference and limo service for doctor appointments, shopping, other errands or trips out of the facility.
The staff has been very stable, with little turnover, and they're quite attentive. They have RN service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many of the residents also have private attendants, with the expense paid by the individual resident, which makes it possible for them to age in place for a longer time.
The food is excellent. It's restaurant-style, 4-star dining. They have both a seasonal menu and meals made to order, and are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
They also have a high-end activities program that includes a fitness trainer five days a week to staff their fitness center.
