Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor

My dad was a resident at Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor. They just don't have enough caregivers. They couldn't accommodate the people. I found out that residents were waiting 30 to 40 minutes to have somebody come help them to the bathroom. That's just unacceptable. I just didn't think it was the way it should have been. Some staff members were friendly, but some were acting like they didn't want to be there. They weren't quick to respond and seemed to have an attitude. The others were OK, it just depended on who you were talking to at the time. They didn't want to be as helpful with my dad as the care I was paying to be provided. I was at the highest care level and he wasn't getting that level of care at all. They had activities, and I thought they were supposed to come and get him to take him places, but they didn't.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor is really beautiful. It's in a nice wooded area. It has a big lake in front of it. It looks well-kept and clean. The staff were all very, very professional and very knowledgeable. I saw the dining area, I could smell food, and it smelled really good, but I didn't physically see any. There is a game room where they could play board games or cards or things along those lines. They have a music area for them to listen to music if they want to. They have a theater area and other outside areas for them to enjoy. The staff who helped me was very knowledgeable and very caring.

I toured Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor. It was really pretty. When we walked in there, it was decorated for Christmas. It was very vibrant. The receptionist at the front door greeted us, and they had coffee and water. It was really nice. The apartment was nice. Everything was very neat. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into how everything was specifically placed for memory care. For example, they were telling us that they make sure they can see the four corners of the room. It was really nice. The person who was in charge of memory care gave us the tour. She was really nice. She knew a lot about senior care. She gave us a lot of tips about what we should do, even if we were going to look at another facility. She was really good. The food was good. They grow their own vegetables, which I really like. The dining area was nice, and I like how they have a private dining area for the family as well. Every Thursday at the end of the month, they have a family social where the family gets together. They have a live band in there. They have an ice cream social, which I like. They also do Catholic mass as well. They were really good.

My husband has moved to Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor. I like the cleanliness, the food, and the friendly staff. They have tons of activities for the residents. We like that he can control his room temperature because he's cold always, it's clean, fresh, and also new. They have nice little things for the family like a Family Night once a month, and they have a theme. The residents prepare crafts and things just to help decorate for whatever the theme is. He loves the food there. The staff would depend on who's on duty. The only thing is that it's limited on who you use for hospice, you have to go within their network.

We have just moved my mother-in-law into Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor. The staff is caring for both the residents and the family members. They're informative for how she's doing. The thing I like most about them is that, since our loved one has dementia, she's in a place where she has continuity of care. Right now, she is in assisted living, and she can move from one level to the next even if it means she goes to complete memory care. It's all-inclusive, so we don't have to worry about moving her again. It's very clean and bright. They have games, they have special nights, and they have family night, which is nice, where families come in and interact with the residents like a little party. They go on outings based on abilities and different interests. I think based on other places, its cost is pretty much in line with everyone else. Maybe their level of care might be slightly cheaper, but all of them tend to run very close to the same amount of money.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor is very beautiful. We enjoyed the information that the two guys gave us and they even answered the questions that we had. It was a great tour. The rooms were gorgeous. The dining area was very clean. They have a few board games and stuff, and it would be a perfect place for my dad.
