I went to Spring Oaks. They were very nice and very friendly. I was shown a shared room. I didn't see the food, but I did read the menu. It was pretty balanced as far as the meals go. You've got to be open to eating food that you're not used to eating. If you've never eaten meatloaf and you get the meatloaf, that's what you're getting. They offered peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but you can only live that long for a little while. The common areas had sofas, recliners, and rocking chairs, and two different TVs on two completely separate sides of the room. They had a common dining area.The decor was a little old-fashioned, not lively, kind of blah. It was kind of drab. It's not for my mom, but they seem to have all their bases covered and the people that were there seemed happy.

Spring Oaks was very nice. It was very nice, except it only has rooms (not apartments). The staff members were very, very accommodating and very nice. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They are in the process of renovating. The rooms were too small, and they had to share a bathroom. They had a salon and a courtyard, but no pool. The outdoor space was very nice. It's near my home. It's near hospitals and restaurants.

Spring Oaks seemed fine. They had quite a few activities. They kept the people happy, and it seemed fun. They had an outdoor area, and a big room where live music plays. The staff seemed like they were good with their people.

Spring Oaks seems to be able to do what's needed to be done for my wife. The personality of the staff is outstanding. Her sister and I have eaten there with my wife several times, and the food is great. They have activities, like visiting entertainment and bingo, and they have a library.

Spring Oaks was very nice, but it wasn’t a fit for my son. The staff was very nice, and they play games and took them out.

My dad was in Spring Oaks in July, but he had an incident and they had to transport him to the hospital. He was having falling problem and he did not go back there. The experience there was very good. I liked the staff so much. They were very attentive. I liked the set-up. The building was well lit and they had sky light, so the halls were not dark. The doorways to the rooms were wheelchairs accessible and doors were wider than most rooms. The only thing that I did not like was that they had to share bathrooms between two suites, which made it kind of awkward for a senior to determine if someone else was in the bathroom. It was an older building and I could understand that. Also, there were some strong odors of urine in some areas. Apparently, one of the roommates from the other side had health issues and it caused him to have a very strong odor and they had difficulty keeping his room clean. When we moved my dad in, I almost passed out. My husband had to take me outside for air because of that. In a way it wasn’t the facility’s fault, but they needed to do something. The room was very nice. It had a window and you could look out into the yard and it was in a good size. I would recommend that place. The other parts of the building were great. My dad was able to go to the cafeteria for entertainment and meals. Everything was good.

I didn't see anything I didn't like at Spring Oaks. The thing that I did like was that there seemed to be a lot of activities. Everybody was busy doing things. They had physical therapy, and a lady was bouncing a ball back and forth with them. They were laughing and talking, people were watching a movie, and it just seemed very free and unrestricted. The rooms were nice. They had a large dining area, and it was clean. The staff seemed very courteous and helpful. What I liked the most was the overall happiness of the place.

Spring Oaks wasn’t expecting us, but they were most accommodating. Being a newer facility, everything was very bright, and that made you feel happy because of the brightness. Everything was nice. The people were lining up for their lunchtime, and they were like, “Come with us.” The residents were like, “This is the best place in the whole world; we love it.” It was nice. The memory care unit was smaller because the facility was smaller. The facility was nice, clean, and newer. I like the newness, and the brightness. However, they didn’t have much of a garden area. They did have things to do there. They had TV, and a workroom where they could make things. They played bingo. There was nothing at all that wasn’t great. They were all very accommodating, and they were really good.

The one we like the best for my mom is Spring Oaks. It seemed rather nice and had a 30-bed limit in the memory unit. We talked to one of the rehab persons and liked what we discussed. It seemed like a well-rounded facility. The staff answered the questions we had, which was good, and we were pleased from what we observed of how the nurse’s aides and the nurses dealt with the individuals as we walked around. They had private and semi-private rooms only. The semi-privates looked OK. There was enough space between the beds, so it didn’t seem like you were right on top of the other person. They had separate closets. The bathroom was basically shared by four people, but the showering and washing areas were separate. As for activities, they had people coming in to try to entertain the residents. They also had a media room.

Spring Oaks was very clean, and the staff was very professional. I do not know if I would recommend this facility to others. I guess it would depend on the person that I am talking to. It was very small.

The people at Spring Oaks were nice and the staff were wonderful. The facility is clean. They have these handicapped busses that takes you to the hospital or to where you want to go.

My mother and father are together now in Spring Oaks. Actually, dad just joined her yesterday. My main goal was to care for them, but not only that, they've been married for sixty five years and I wanted them to be together. They could accommodate my dad's special diet because he aspirates, and also take care of my mom's dementia needs. Dad's physical needs are now more than mom's. Mom is developing dementia, and dad's diet is a concern, so I can't tell you that it's wonderful. Their menu and food is fine, but it is not home cooking, so they don't really like it. They have entertainment, crafts, and Bingo; and those are things that both of them enjoy. They want to go home because they don't want to be in what they consider an institution. But for me, I feel that they are in the safest place.
