They were very friendly and very helpful at Brookdale Brighton Michigan. They helped us determine that 100%, it wasn't appropriate for the status of where my parents are right now. The facility was in good shape, but for us, there was more care than what was needed, which led to more cost than we really could afford. The layout was nice. The room sizes were adequate. They seemed to have a fair number of activities that were organized. It's just pretty pricy.

We are a couple and have had great experiences living here at Brookdale so far. The service has been excellent. We had a very large 1 Bedroom with a den and a large walk-in closet. They even put up my husband's flag pole for us when we moved in.

I thought Brookdale Brighton Michigan was very warm and inviting. The layout was very nice because it was all on one floor, and my mom liked that better, she didn't have to use an elevator. As far as their food, I haven't tried it yet. We want to have more of a menu, like if there are five things to choose from versus just the one kind of set meal that they have. There wasn't anything going on at the time, but they have tons of stuff. They have Bible studies and music, and they have an activities director that hosts something almost every day.

My parents moved into Brookdale Brighton Michigan. It's good. My stepmom and my dad's viewpoint of it is they're having a really hard time adjusting. They hate it. They don't like it. But the people there are bending over backward for me. The only downside they have is it's a long walk down to the dining area and their apartment. But for other people, I think it's fine. The apartment is nice. It gives them enough room for what they need. The staff has been very helpful. They have bingo and all that. But with them just moving in and COVID showing its teeth again, they've canceled all activities. They've canceled eating down in the whole area because COVID is going rampant in there. They look like fun activities from what I read in them, getting them moved in. They have a library. They have an exercise area. They've got a cute little covered area out front where there's a lot of residents that sit there and talk.

My BFFs Dad was NOT easy to work with. The staff made it seem like he's a peach! Kind and caring people, super clean, great food and activities.

My stepmom is in Brookdale Brighton Michigan for respite care. We've got nothing but good things to say about it. It's been fabulous. It has a full suite of services. Respite care lasts 90 days, but if we need longer, we can go longer. It's been excellent. I'm not very experienced at any of this, but they're friendly and nice. They had a room available at the right price, and they seem to take good care of you. They provide lunch and dinner. If you want breakfast, there's a slight additional charge. They must find a lot of people don't do breakfast, but they do lunch and dinner, and that's included in the price. The rooms are really nice. You have an option of a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. They come equipped with a mini-kitchen, a fridge, a sink, and a stove. The bathrooms are all equipped for older people. It's just really nice. They have a ton of activities. There's a library there set up with a crossword puzzle. There is a fireplace. There are various activities that go on during the day that you can get involved in. They offer services. I think Monday they take you to Meijer, Tuesday it's The Dollar Store, and Wednesday it's Grover or something like that. It's been excellent for our mom. It doesn't smell at all. The staff has been extremely helpful. I have not personally had the food, but she has not complained about it. We've had no bad experiences. Things have been great. She doesn't have a big pension, but she's able to afford this. One of the huge reasons we moved her into there is because she could afford to pay for it.

Brookdale Brighton Michigan was a very nice facility. It looked like it was well run and neat, and it seemed like a great place to be. We met a few staff members apart from the tour guide, like the person in charge of the medicine, the front desk, and everyone else, and they were all wearing their masks. They keep the place very clean as part of their COVID measures.

Brookdale Brighton was very open. The common areas were very open and we saw several of the residents out walking around, visiting with each other. So that was very welcoming. We saw a one-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom as well. They had one available for us to see, and they were very nice. I just think for my Aunt Barb, she needs more of a kitchen, and she still wants to be able to cook in it. The kitchens were very small. That would probably be my only drawback. I know that they would enjoy the fact that there were so many residents walking around and visiting, and there were people in the game room. It was actually kind of pleasant. Unfortunately, the person who gave us the tour was the one in charge of the food service. So he couldn't answer all of our questions, but he did a fantastic job. We're expecting a phone call from the director tomorrow, because Jason wasn't able to answer all of our questions. The dining area is currently, of course, set up for COVID, so it was spaced out and seemed very clean. The activities are less than they normally are because of COVID, but there were guests at the game room playing bingo when we were there, and card games were going on, so that seems like a good thing. My aunt and uncle loved to play cards, and I know they would enjoy that. It's hard to tell with just one walkthrough, but the place seemed very clean and very friendly, so I would have to rate it pretty high. The staff who accommodated us was wonderful, because he was out of his element a little bit, but he did a fantastic job, and he made it very enjoyable. He showed us everything we asked to see, like the laundry facilities. The corridors seemed to me kind of claustrophobic, and a little bit dark.

Brookdale Brighton was very nice. The staff was very helpful, informative, and really great. I like that it's all on one level, and it's close to everything. It's very clean, well kept, and modern. It's not old. They have activities and exercise, and they take you places if you need to go.

We placed Mom at Brookdale Brighton. Right now, she's independent, and she doesn't really require any assistance yet. There was just a little mix-up with the director of the center, and he had given us a date for move-in, and these are very stressful emotional times for the person moving in because it's disrupting her memory. We got the date, and my husband and I organized the movers. We had bought her a bed to put in her new facility. I had called the facility that morning to let them know that that was on the way, but we were still waiting for the truck to come to pack everything else, and they said, "Oh, the director is not available, let me call you back." The director called back and said, "Oh, can you change the move-in date, the room is not ready." I had no idea, and we had organized the date with them, and apparently there was some confusion on their side and somebody was supposed to come in and do work over the week, and they didn't come. The room was not ready. I got taken off work, we had movers there, and it was quite stressful. We ended up moving her stuff into a different room, but I didn't want to move her temporarily because everything would've been just a mess, and this was a big deal, so I just moved her stuff in there and then she stayed with me for three days until her room was ready. That was not a good first experience at that place with my mom. Now, she's happy, and she's adjusted. Everyone's been very kind. She seems to be happy and so far, so good. It had a good ending. It was just a bumpy ride getting there. They could use some help with the food. Most of the people that I've met don't really like the food, and I know that that's a cost that they're paying. Fortunately, my mom got a newly renovated room. It has a new shower, new carpeting, it looks clean, and smells good. I have been in some of the other rooms and they need to be refurbished, they're old, and they need to be redone. The layout is nice, and it's all on one level. The structure is fine. The dining room seems fine, and the lobby is clean. There are greeters at the door. Because of COVID, they don't have a lot going on that they normally would, but they're trying to do the best they can. They still have bingo and exercise.

I moved into Brookdale Brighton. It's very comfortable. I'm in independent living, but I got therapy going too. The staff is great, it's institutional food, and I've got a kitchenette. I've got my own TV, they have activities, but everything is in lockdown. It's very clean.

Brookdale Brighton's community is friendly and we got to know a lot of people in a short time. We play cards, we exercise, and we got a game room and a library. They have a room where you can go and talk if you just want to have a muffin in the morning. They also have a private dining room for guests. We were kind of disappointed in the way they were doing some things in the menus, but it was very easy to join in the conversation about the diet and make it very convenient, and they have improved greatly. They got better chemicals for their dishwashers, as well as more fresh fruit.

Brookdale Brighton was reasonably priced and they have a lot of amenities that you can choose from. I didn't like that they don't have wheelchairs available for visitors or the people that live there. The staff was very nice. I also didn't like that it was too fancy. They have white linen tablecloths and pianos everywhere, and it had very fancy decors. We had lunch there and the food was very good. I liked that it was all on the ground floor, and it's big enough that you can make friends there and have activities. I liked the apartments. They have kitchenettes.

We placed Mom at Brookdale Brighton. She has her own apartment with a bedroom, a kitchenette, and bathroom. Their dining room is very nice and spacious. It’s really nice-looking, kept-up place without a bad smell. They have a lot of very helpful staff. If I call them and tell them to check on my mom, they do so right away and I get a call back after 10 minutes. They have a thing that they wear around their necks and a cord to pull in the bathroom in case of any emergencies. Overall, I find the people to be very nice and helpful. They have different activities, like bingo, cards, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and much more. I don't have any problems with the place.

We visited Brookdale Brighton. It was very nice and very clean. We met just one guy, Greg, who was very helpful. He gave us a very nice tour and showed us around. There were a lot of nice amenities and social activities. He showed us two different rooms that were very nice and small but very adequate for senior living.

My father was at Emeritus at Brighton. It was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. They treated my father great. Food was OK. However, they need to improve on the food. They have just remodeled the dining room, and it was very nice. They did trips, they had people coming in and singing, and they went out to eat. They did a lot of different things. They had a lot of crafts. My father said he never played bingo, but there, he loved it. Everybody was so nice there. Security was good because they had people all over the place.

We have Emeritus for my mom so she’s all set. It was the closest one. As soon as we walked in, they were very accommodating and pleasant. The staff is really nice. They do what they say they’re going to do, so that’s good. They don’t have a lot of activities, but they have activities a couple of times a week. They have an exercise area. They have a bus that goes places and trips a couple of times a week where groups can go. She likes the food.

I went to visit a friend of mine at Emeritus at Brighton. He has a little studio apartment and it’s a good size. It has a little kitchenette with refrigerator; it's nice old place really. He is very happy there. This is a big improvement for him and he enjoyed it. He has been there probably about a year now. The staff that I saw seemed to be very, very good. They provide transportation for the residents that takes them to the grocery store. They also take them out to lunch to different areas every couple of weeks. I haven’t tried the food, but he says he's happy with it. They have a menu and I saw it and it's very good.

My parents are at Emeritus at Brighton. They have been there for probably five years already. When we first put them there, it was great, but as their ailing health declines and they need more care, the cost goes up. That's where the lines meet and you go from there. Their health is deteriorating but it's not Emeritus' fault. They just need more care and we can't afford it. My mom is in a wheelchair and my dad is on a walker and both need 24-hour care, so we're going to have to take care of them ourselves. Right now, there is a woman that comes in seven days a week to help them in the morning. I go in there three days a week and another person would fill in for me. We can only afford Emeritus' level 1 care, but for what we're paying, I think their service is good. The facility itself is good. They keep it up-to-date fairly well. It is clean and well cared for. The people there are friendly. I ate there and the food is okay. I think they give my parents well-balanced meals. They also allow pets inside. When we bring our pets in, it is not a problem. As far as activities, they have a lot of things for the guests to do like bingo. They also have entertainers come in. The only thing is my parents aren't mobile enough to do that anymore. Before when they were engaged in all that stuff, it worked out really well. Now, they're just not mobile enough so that they're not engaged as much.

I liked nothing about Emeritus. The size was not there. I found that place to be very depressing. It's dark and it's not very friendly. The staff was okay but it wasn't one that I would have selected. The ambience is terrible.

When I went to this retirement home, I liked what they were doing. All of the staff members were too kind and treated you with great respect. The food served there was pretty good as well. They offered nice activities such as an exercise program and socials. I feel like they are really trying to do all that they can in order to make the lives easier of the person residing there. Some of the amenities offered there are transportation, snacks and laundry. What I was really fond of was that pets under 30 pounds are welcome there. My Great Uncle has a mini poodle that he loves and it would tear me apart to tear them apart. This was one of the deciding points for when we made the decision. They have a nice TV room there where it is very relaxing and calm. My Great Uncle says he enjoys it there and glad we picked this retirement home.

I would be carefull with this selection. If your loved one does not need extensive care, this may be the place. However, you need to constantly monitor/remind/request services paid for, don't always get done. Clean/neat facility. Mananagement poor. Staff friendly. Name change of facility does not change quality/services rendered. Use caution when selecting this one.

I think that Emeritus at Brighton is an excellent choice for placement for someone who is looking for placement for a friend or a family member. The common grounds are very beautifully landscaped, structured and very well maintained and very tasteful to the eye and so are the surrounding neighborhoods. The common areas of the facility sit on five acres of land with the most beautiful trees surrounding the areas. Emeritus at Brighton also have a vast majority of country yards for their residents to enjoy interact and socialize in while enjoying the country yards at the same time. I would recommend this facility to any and everyone age 50 and older because I know that they would love it there and because I know that they would receive excellent care there. While there, I nolticed that their residents live like Queens and Kings and are also treated like royalty as well and all are like family member towards each other and the management and staff also. Their residents' apartments are very upscale. This facility is considered as upscale Independent Living apartments. Their residents are enjoying their lives in an upscale, elegant, luxury, and beautiful style living all year round. They also provide a vast majority of services, activities and recreations for their residents. I would have to definitely rank this assistance living apartments on a five plus stars rating for their upscale and elegance. There residents are served a varied menu also to fit their residents nutritional and dietary needs.
