My husband moved to Sonata Boynton Beach. The staff is very nice. They're very helpful. I did have a couple of issues when it came to cleanliness or being on top of my husband to make sure that he was taken care of really well and not overlooked. He's got a one-bedroom. It's very nice. They change the bed as often as they possibly can. He's not getting any activities because he's in memory care and they're monitoring his medication but one of the aides has sent me a video of him doing a sit-up and sit-down in his wheelchair. They said that he had walked the hallway two times back and forth. So sending me the video was amazing. It was very good.

I visited this facility

We went to Sonata Boynton Beach. I didn't care for their physical layout because the buildings weren't all attached, and I don't think there were covered walks. The floor plan wasn't that exciting. I didn't care for the physical layout of the buildings. You had to go back and forth too much for the activities.

Sonata Boynton Beach is an excellent facility. My husband is in the memory care unit. The atmosphere is very good. The food is just OK, but everything else is excellent. The staff is excellent. The food is adequate, nothing to rave about, but they cover all the bases. The facility is lovely. His room has a very good layout. There's not a ton of activities because he's in the Alzheimer's/memory unit. There are just a few things, but not really a lot. I see people doing a few things, but there's not a lot of people there that are capable of doing a lot of stuff. Value for money is appropriate compared to other places. It is not cheaper nor more expensive. He feels comfortable there.

Sonata Boynton Beach was a really comfortable and nice setting. It's smaller, more of a home feel for the seniors, and a quieter facility, but very nice. The staff was very caring and very attentive to the seniors' needs. It's well-kept and well-maintained, too.

My mother is in Sonata Boynton Beach. The food is not that great. She gets her showers pretty regularly. The cleanliness could be better because we have to keep on them about shampooing the rug. They have a lot of mosquitos around the premises and she has been bitten by them. She is allergic to mosquitos and they know about it. They're trying to do something, but they can't seem to get a handle on the mosquitos and bugs. We also have to keep on them about the carpet in her room. Their refrigerators are so low you have to bend down to open up and get things. It's been a problem for her and they know that, and a lot of people have been complaining about that as well. The staff is great, and the activities are pretty good.

We've been very happy with Sonata Boynton Beach. My dad seems to be enjoying himself there. The care and food are very good. The people are friendly. The place is clean, and they've done everything we asked. So far we haven't had any issues. My father is happy with the food. It's a small community so it's a little more personalized. He's enjoying going to meals and has had no complaints so far. They seem to have activities and entertainment almost every day. They travel to places and they have community meetings, so if there are issues to be addressed, they can be addressed with the director. They've been very responsive with the things that I have asked for as a newcomer, and they've been very responsive. They also have 24-hour visiting times. There are a couple of things I'd like to see, like exhaust fans in the bathroom. I think they're a very good facility. They have been very good in making Dad comfortable and in answering our questions. The staff members always have a smile on their faces and they always say good morning. The place is painted in nice soft colors and they have a really pretty backyard. I like the size of the room and it's perfect for my dad. From everything I've seen, they seem to be one of the better places. I would definitely recommend for people to go there. The activities are very good and appropriate for assisted living. They cater to their clientele. It's also a good value for the money, and it's better than I expected.

We were very well received at Sonata. We got a really good feeling about it. We had the opportunity to speak with one of the residents. Quite frankly, she had a lot of good things to say; that's why we decided to trust our gut and go with it. My father-in-law's room has plenty of natural light, which was nice. It had a private bathroom, and it's more than enough to fill his needs. He's in the memory care. He also has a full-time caregiver that we employ for him. The caregiver takes him out to an eating area outside. They go outside periodically. Just the fact that he can get out and taken outside for a while, and interact with other people, we found that to be very promising. I have nothing bad to say bad about them at this point. It's expensive, no doubt. But compare to some of the other places that we've seen, and the kind of money that they get, I'd say Sonata is a good value. A number of people had been there a number of years. They come from a background of healthcare, especially with the elderly. That in itself, to me, speaks volume about a company or an organization with people who stay there for a long time. Then they must be doing something right.

Sonata Boynton Beach was OK, but the price was too high. The community area wasn't upgraded. The gentleman that I dealt with was very accommodating and very nice, but they didn't have a pool or a nice seating area, and I didn't observe any activities. Their rooms were big.

I liked the convenience of Brookdale. It’s on the way to the hospital where my husband has to go. The people that I saw and showed me around were very pleasant. I like light and bright places, so they need more windows to let more light in, especially here in Florida. There isn't a lot of parking.

Brookdale Boynton Beach was newer compared to another facility I visited, and they were doing some redecorating. The hallways were wider, the lighting was better, and the colors inside were better. It was just much more cheerful. I really liked this place, and it would have been my second choice. The gentleman who gave me the tour was very helpful and very nice. This place has a pull cord in the bedroom and bathroom if they need help or assistance.

I had a quick tour at Brookdale Boynton Beach, and it was a little too large. I only saw the independent living, not the memory loss division. They have a lovely dining room, and arts and crafts. We did have a situation where we needed some further legal information, and they were very helpful in giving direction.

My father is in Brookdale Boynton Beach. The rooms are large, very nice, and clean. One of the main reasons why I put my father there is because of the activities, and there are men and women. Some of the activities are bingo and crosswords. It has a nice dining area with well-balanced meals and a good choice of menu. The staff is good. They seem attentive to my father. The place is nice and cheerful, and the people are helpful. I will recommend it.

I was able to visit Homewood at Boynton Beach, and it's an excellent facility. They offered a la carte of services. The buildings were recently renovated, and the grounds were very beautiful. Their rooms were approximately 300 square feet, and they were unfurnished with the option to have the residents own furnishings from home. The staff was pretty knowledgeable and was able to answer most of our questions. They do have activities like games and other social activities as well. Their dining area is very pretty.

Homewood was very, very nice. We were very impressed with it. It was assisted living, and that was the problem. We weren't ready for assisted living, but it was very well run, very pretty. The rooms were great. The dining room seemed to be fine. We wanted independent living. The staff was very nice. We had a lovely young woman. She introduced us to everyone. We met some of the people who lived there. They all seemed very happy.

The staff at Homewood at Boynton Beach were shock that I was there even though I had an appointment and it seemed like I was rushed through the whole process. Overall, the place is very nice and very clean.

Mom is in Homewood at Boynton. I feel that she's getting excellent care. They maintain the facility well and the food is okay. The care is very good. However, I feel like the stimulation is not enough. They have a lot of activities like poker and bingo and she didn't like that kind of stuff. They have a television, but for them to be sitting all day watching TV is no fun. Sometimes they didn't even know what they are watching. They need to have more interactive activities for the residents. It is a very small place with a bunch of small buildings for the different levels of care and I thought that is problem because I feel that they are divided. They do things for every building to accommodate people living there and it is horrendous for the program person to do all these. I keep telling them to get voluntaries. So, when it comes to care, they are very high. But when it comes to stimulation, it depends on what building you are into.

The staff is very helpful at Homewood. The way it?s setup was that they had small groups in different buildings, so it was very personalized. It?s a very nice facility.

Mom has been at Homewood at Boynton Beach for 2-1/2 months. The staff are nice and caring. They actually called me one day when I had picked her up and forgot to sign her out. The facility is very clean. One of the things that I have an issue with is they have a line of activities, but they are in all different buildings. They have 6 buildings there. So, if they have a movie or Bingo, it might be at building 3 and mom is at building 2. I don't know what arrangements they make to get her into the other building.

My parents are now at Homewood. We like the pod situation system that they have there. There are six different level pods of 24 residents and each one is self-contained, so it is easier for my parents to get around. We also chose this facility because my stepmother needs memory care. So this facility can accommodate both my parents in terms of their needs. In terms of accommodation, they have a large enough room that is divided into a living area and a bedroom area. Both my parents can move around easily because it is spacious enough for them. Food is actually very good and there's a variety to choose from. My stepmother generally doesn't really know what's going on, but my dad has been very pleased with this facility. There was only one minor thing we had with them. Upon registration, they failed to let us know that they needed my parents' doctors' contact information. Luckily, my sister and I looked them up and gave it to them. Nevertheless, with things such as maintenance that needs to be done, they're pretty quick on that.

We have looked at Homewood. It was a big facility. It was more modern than the other facilities we have looked at. The apartments were very nice. The bedrooms were a little bit smaller but they were nice. However, when we went there, they acted almost annoyed that we were there. They kept asking, 'Are there any more questions? Are there any more questions?' They were doing several other things while we were there.

This facility is not very appealing. It wasn't a pretty setting and it was not homey. It was more of an institutional set up. There's no pool in this facility too. However, the grounds were maintained okay. We only saw a studio room. It was okay, good in size, nice bathroom, no kitchen; only a microwave, a small cabinet and a small refrigerator. Because residents can't cook, they offer 3 meals in a day. They have the usual activities for their residents; exercises, card games, entertainment and the like. I just didn't care about the dining room. I can't find the words to describe it.

We visited Homewood on Boynton Beach for my 91-year-old mother. This place is dead. It's too quiet and it seems as if there's nothing going on. Very few people out and about. I wouldn't choose this place if it was free.

We visited Homewood about three years ago when we were looking for a facility for my great aunt who has Alzheimer's disease. She had progressed to a point where she needed round the clock care but not all facilities for elderly care have programs to accommodate Alzheimer's patients. We were very impressed with Homewood. The specialize in patients with Alzheimer's and dementia and the staff really make an effort to get moments of clarity with the residents suffering from these conditions. The facility is spotlessly maintained and all the residents seemed very relaxed, content and well looked after. For more able residents, there are a lot of activities they can take part in like tai-chi classes and lawn bowling. The staff are very friendly and you can tell that they really have the residents best interests at heart. My great aunt moved into Homewood and lived there until her death last year. I felt very secure in the knowledge that she was content and respected by the staff the entire time she was there. I highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for a great place for a loved one.
