I visited this facility

I toured Green Country Village. It was a good visit. The person I'm working with there is great. They've had a good response. My mother is on a waiting list there. I hear so many wonderful things about it. The rooms were very clean and very nice. I have tried the food, and the dining is just lovely and the food is good. It is like going to a restaurant. I haven't interacted with many people, but the people that I have interacted with are great. One woman there is going to keep in close contact with me. They have a lovely area where their residents can walk.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is in Green Country Village. It has a really good staff, and it's set up well. It's a pretty large community. They have morning, noon, and evening dining. The evening and the noon dining is waited on like dining tables with waitstaff, which my mother likes. They have a lot of activities. They have a caring staff and they pay attention to the residents. They have a resident council that can kind of give them feedback on what they would like to see as far as activities or even food served. They seem to be very open to that and willing to give their residents what they're looking for. They have regular apartments. They have studios, singles, doubles, and they've even combined a couple like torn down a wall to make a rather large apartment for a couple of residents in the past, so they can pretty much accommodate what anybody might be looking for. I'm not exactly certain what the studio apartment has, but all the others have kitchens and baths. They had kind of a staff shortage there during Covid for a little bit, but other than that, the food has always been very good. They put fresh flowers on the tables in the dining area. One of the resident services directors would buy flowers in bulk and have the residents help with the flower arrangements. They have an onsite chapel, an onsite convenience store, and a pond outback. They have a walking group that goes around the pond a couple of times a week. They had outside gardening last year. They had raised beds where the residents could choose what they wanted to plant in them. They had a salon onsite, a clubroom, a large living room where they have birthday celebrations and holiday celebrations, drum exercise class, other exercise classes, Wii bowling, and sometimes just entertainment. They have people come in and entertain, sing and play the piano and musical instruments. They have bingo, they have a loft where they have jigsaw puzzles and they have a craft room where they can bake also. It is very well kept up with seasonal decorations like for the holidays. They have a state-of-the-art van for transporting the residents. My mother had a leak in her shower and you just put a work order and the maintenance crew comes and addresses the problem pretty quickly. It's one of the better values. I don't know really what the cost of the other facilities is in Bartlesville. They do a lot of things that it's hard to put a price tag on and they're competitive in pricing with others. It checks all the boxes for her. It is an older building. There's only so much they can do. There's a lot of things I wish they could add like ceiling fans and heaters in the bathrooms, but they just can't because it's not structurally feasible to go in and make those kinds of changes. When they're fully staffed, they have a very fun set of people that provide their activities, and they're very good at helping the residents remember to go to their activities even though that's not something independent living really should do. They know the residents, so they're constantly communicating with them. They take the time to know the residents.

I visited this facility

Green Country Village was excellent. I was in the memory ward for about two hours. It smelled like the most delicious food. It was well staffed, and everybody was really friendly, including the residents. Everybody seemed happy. It was nice and clean, and it was a really happy place. I did the assisted living also. The staff has been very helpful. From my house, it's only a mile and a half, and it's very easy to get to. Everyone I've ever met who has had somebody in there is happy and very satisfied. We know a lot of people who have somebody in there already, and they love it. The rooms were really nice. They had big bathrooms, and everything was spacious and well organized. From what I saw when I was there, I was so impressed. The staff was excellent. Everybody was very friendly, nice, and accommodating. The ones I saw interacting with residents were really positive and cheerful. It's a really, really nice place. The staff sent home two dinners for my dad and me: a pork chop and a big-olé steak sandwich. I can't eat beef or pork, but I ate the vegetables and salads, and it smelled delicious. Dad said it was great.

I visited this facility

I went to Green Country Village. I didn't have a tour, I just have an interview. She was very efficient and told me everything I needed to know. It's just that they were not letting people tour the place just because of the Covid situation. They were pretty much outta hand as far as coming and going and all that. Well I'd seen the regular that was used before because I visited people there, but I had not seen the memory care unit. The main facility is all self-care, there's no care provided unless you hired privately. You still have to hire caregiver if you're in that part. But if you want personal care, you have to go in to the either assisted living, or the memory care. They're got 3 different levels. They got independent, assisted and memory care. So I had never seen anything but the regular facilities but at the time they were not letting people tour anything. I've seen that before the Covid, but everything changed when that became a factor. They don't have any activities right now. At the time of my visit there was no interaction between our social activities going on. Where people were mixing, they were just going to their own personal living quarters back and forth, the meals were delivered to their rooms, and they were not interacting with each other at all, at that particular time. It may have changed now. But at the time I went, I had to wait in the outside lobby for someone to come and talk, I couldn't even go on to the regular facility. I've been in it before, so I knew what it looked like before, but at that particular time it was pretty much shutdown for just coming and going to your own apartment.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Green Country Village was available at the time were looking for a place for my grandpa, and they had an Alzheimer’s unit. It’s clean, and the rooms are more like an apartment-style. The staff is great, helpful, nice, and very knowledgeable in dealing with dementia patients. They have cards and bingo, and the dining area is very nice as well as the entrance area. I would recommend them.
