I visited this facility

Belmont Village West Lake Hills was a lovely location. I think it's really clean and the residents were well cared for. They had the available space that we were looking for and the facility was in great condition. I think they probably topped the list as far as amenities and activities and so forth. They had quite several activities for residents to participate in and were very interesting. It seemed like they worked with their residents to find things that they would be interested in.

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband lived in The Neighborhood, locked memory care unit, for 9 months. There were a couple of problems and a couple of wins for the facility. First of all, Keith had been diagnosed 9 1/2 years earlier so it wasn't surprising that his health went downhill at the Belmont. He had a seizure in the dining room. He had seizure medicine for just such an emergency AND was on Hospice, but they called EMS. I was painting my bedroom, had my phone on mute, and it was 2 hours before I found out he was in the ER. The head nurse took responsibility and said they would ensure this didn't happen again and that they would cover any expenses. They didn't. I gave them copies of the bills at least 5 times and talked to 4 different staff members--including the director. Fine. The bills were in my name and I paid. However, if you mess up, you should hold yourself accountable. And that goes for businesses, too. More disturbingly, he quit swallowing, but they kept feeding him. I didn't put this together until recently. I would visit and his shirt was splattered with food and he had weird thick drool dripping out of his mouth. I am obviously kind of clueless, but they are professionals. They should've known what was going on. He was still on a mechanical diet! Then the hospice nurse called me and said he was dying. The Belmont staff was great! They brought in a mattress, sheets, pillow, and blanket so I didn't have to sleep in a chair. They had aroma therapy. They had a light show on the ceiling. They checked in all the time. They were lovely. So I am torn. If your person is pretty alert, there's fun stuff to do there. The facility is pleasant and I truly felt close to some staff members.

We saw the assisted living at Belmont Village West Lake Hills. The tour was excellent. The person showing us around answered all of our question,s and she was very good. It was a very good tour. The rooms were nice, but small. The staff was very knowledgeable and very personable. The cleanliness of the place was excellent.

I visited this facility

Belmont Village West Lake Hills was definitely clean and the people were very welcoming. The staff and the residents were sweet. My sister was with me, and we met with the director, the coordinator, and the nurse. They were all knowledgeable, except in a couple of areas they had to check on. They said they were gonna let me know if we could do this or that, but we never heard from them. It's a big facility and has a welcoming environment. They have a pool, and definitely a lot of activities for the residents. It looked like a fun place to be.

I visited this facility

I think Belmont Village West Lake Hills is the top one that I like. They have everything for a person that has Alzheimer's, like things that stimulate the mind and structure everyday. It keeps residents busy. The facilities are excellent and top quality. Everything is neat and clean. They have nurses on staff at all times and doctors who come in two or three times a week. They have a restaurant inside the place. The person gets to choose off the menu of quality food that is cooked by chef. It is really awesome and expensive but you get what you pay for. It is the most expensive one, but the quality of care is there. If you have the money, you don't have to worry about anything. It is the best. The staff is awesome and call you by name. What they have on the menu is awesome. I can tell the food is good.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Former resident, level of care was not up to standard for the cost. I would push my call button and have to wait for hours for help and assistance.

Provider Response

We're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction. We closely monitor response times to ensure timeliness of staff but we understand that any time can be too long in certain circumstances. We encourage residents to share any immediate concerns directly with our executive director so that we may address them quickly. Resident council meetings also offer an opportunity to share ongoing concerns. Resident input is an essential element of our ongoing evaluation of programs and services, to help us provide the best possible care and support.

I visited this facility

I visited Belmont Village; it was a new facility, but it looked kind of worn. The activities seemed decent, the rooms were made for double occupancy, and my mom wanted a room by herself. The place doesn’t smell great. The food looked decent, they had a large selection, and that was a big plus, but overall, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Provider Response

Thank you for visiting our community. We understand finding the right fit and appreciate your consideration. Our community opened in 2014 and we have an on-site building engineer to help maintain its fresh look. We also offer various floor plan options for single and double occupancy. Belmont Village is fine, but upscale and expensive. The staff was very nice. They have a swimming pool, and that’s a plus. Their food was probably the best, and it looked like they had quality food service.

Belmont Village West Lake Hills was close to where I live. The staff was nice and informative. It looked good, big, and modern but seemed geared toward older people.

I visited this facility

We visited Belmont Village West Lake Hills, and it's a nice place, but the rooms were small, and it also seemed kind of expensive to me. They have a nice dining room. They also have a workout room and a pool. I know they do Parkinson's exercise on a Friday, which I am interested in. They also have memory care close by.

I visited this facility

I really did like Belmont Village West Lake Hills. They showed me one of their units, one that I would be interested in, and it was fine. Also they did have some good things to offer, but I heard that they were more for mental things. They're focused more on dementia patients, and I thought that's not where I would want to be -- not that I have anything against people with dementia -- but because it would keep my spirit down. Nevertheless, Belmont Village West Lake Hills did make a good impression. The staff was very friendly. They did offer things, e.g., they have a pool, exercise programs, and even water exercises, so it sounded good.

Provider Response

Thank you for considering Belmont Village and for your feedback. We are proud of our award-winning memory care program, but that is only one of the programs we offer. Our community caters to a variety of needs and interests, with programs tailored for all levels of support. We invite you to schedule another visit to further discuss which Belmont Village lifestyle option would best suit your needs.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Belmont Village does a fantastic job not just in taking care of their clients, but especially in genuinely caring for them..The memory unit is remarkably compassionate and thoughtful. The place is beautiful, clean, and the food good. But the most important thing is the people, and how they care for their most vulnerable clients. Às a physician who has cared for elderly patients in Austin for many years, I fully recognize how rare the exceptional service is that Belmont provides. Families and loved ones should feel good about the decision to move to Belmont Village."

Belmont has been very helpful and friendly. They’ve taken very good care of her. She was very skeptical, but from the very beginning until now she was very happy there. She does like the food. They have a very nice dining room, and they have selections.
