I visited this facility

Augusta Gardens was nice. The memory care rooms were small, kind of congested, but again, it was nice. I don't have anything bad to say about the staff. They seemed to be nice, too, and they had activities every day for the residents. It was good. It would have been my third choice, and they had plenty of things for the residents to get involved in if they wanted to.

I visited this facility

I went to Augusta Gardens. It was very clean. It was recently renovated. The residents there seemed very happy, and the workers seemed like they really cared about the patients. The only thing was that you had to purchase your own, or bring your own furniture. I was not aware that that's what nursing homes or retirement homes require. The rooms were appropriate. I thought the bed location was a little too far from the bathroom that was inside the room. It was OK, but if they had a hard time walking, it's a little bit of a distance. Other than that, it's all right.

My father is now a resident of Augusta Gardens. I like the atmosphere and the help that I encountered, the people that work there were enthusiastic. His room is clean and organized, and there's sufficient space for him to live comfortably. And the atmosphere is very caring, the help is always checking on the residents and helping them where they need it. He said that the meals are very good. They have available physical therapy and occupational therapy on-site, they have two main areas for people to socialize in, and they have an outdoor courtyard for the residents to go to any time they want. They have an outdoor courtyard so they could walk outside.

I looked at Augusta Gardens. It was nice. It was a little bit older community. I think they said it was privately owned. They said they were going to be doing some upgrading. They still had the carpeted floors and stuff. Overall, it was just a little bit older than what you have been used to, and I just felt like it needed a few upgrades to it. The staff was very, very nice. They had a garden.

I visited this facility

I like Augusta Gardens. It was my favorite. It was the most affordable for my sister's budget. It was close to my own home, and it had a very homelike atmosphere. The staff was very welcoming, very nice, and friendly. It was very clean and had a Southern charm. It's near the hospital, which is helpful.

I visited this facility

Unfortunately when we got to Augusta Gardens, there wasn't anybody there to actually give us a tour. It was a Saturday, and I believe the lady that's supposed to do the tours was on vacation. One of the residents was kind enough to show us around a little bit, take us to her room, and she showed it to us. She also took us around the assisted living with a couple of the ladies that worked there at the cafeteria. They talked to us. It was a very pleasant atmosphere, and they're very kind. I liked the place, but I really didn't get any information as far as prices and the services. I'm going to call them on Monday. Marcy from Augusta was supposed to call me on Monday, so I'm going to call her. I will get some more information on it. It was a lovely place for me. The ladies came out and showed us a menu. We didn't actually see the food though. I just saw the actual building itself, and I got to go to one of the little apartments that the ladies took me in. It was a little efficiency apartment, and it was lovely. They just need to have staff on hand when they schedule an appointment.

Provider Response

April, I am so sorry someone was not available to give you a tour. I am glad that one of our residents was able to show you around. We are happy to help you with any of your questions, and are available for a another tour to see anything you might have missed. Thankyou for your feedback on our facility!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father moved into Augusta Gardens. It's two miles from our house. I went there two days ago. He's been there for three months now. It is wonderful. The staff is great, they keep in constant contact with us, he is a lot more adjusted, and as of right now, we're super pleased with everything. It's very clean, everyone there is friendly and nice, and they have constant activities for the seniors. They've been very accommodating with everything we have needed so far. His room is great. They play bingo, they have people come in to entertain, people sing, and every time I want to go there, I can't go until late in the afternoon, because they have two or three activities going on, which is great. He said the food is good.

Provider Response

Charles, we are so happy that you are having a good experience with us. Thankyou so much for the kind review.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My relative moved into Augusta Gardens, and he's been doing very well. We liked it because it's not a gigantic facility. It's a two-story smaller capacity facility. It's very clean. The staff is very nice and receptive, and he's actually adapting quite well. He lived in his own home and resisted moving from his home, but he's been doing very, very well. He's participating in activities. Right now they're fairly open inside because they're 100 percent vaccinated, so they're interacting inside the facility. The room was fairly large in assisted living. It's a good sized room with his own little kitchenette, a microwave, a sink, and a refrigerator. He has his bathroom and two large closets. He's actually doing quite well. They met the needs that he has and that we needed for him. The staff has been a big assistance. Probably like a lot of places, you'll find ones that you really like; and then suddenly they leave. That's an issue at all of them, and that's not them by themselves. If he had a question, issue, or any concern, they've been very, very receptive immediately. They just had a little family event last Friday, so we were there. The food was quite good. They have a little garden. They've started to increase their activities, and they do little trips. They have little bus rides, bingo, and some other kinds of game things. They have a little garden out back, a little walking path area, and a little porch. They often go out there. They do exercises and other little things with them. They just started bringing people in again, like speakers or music and various things. It appears they're doing a good job. I think the value for money is good. We looked into many facilities, and this one wasn't high-end. It's been giving him many things that some of the high ends were stating that they offered. For instance, his linen is done without an extra charge. They offer other extras like a barber or podiatrist. They are consistent about a weekly schedule, and he knows when they're cleaning his room and this and that.

That staff here has been so helpful for the difficult transition of moving my grandmother. I live 4 hours away and I have been well informed and put at ease that my grandmother will be well cared for. The facility is nice, clean, and has excellent food. Every member of the staff I met has been welcoming and kind. The new marketing director was so patient and helpful with any and all questions I had before moving my grandmother in. He even took the time to come look at her fridge that was leaking and have it replaced with a new one very quickly! I feel at ease knowing that there is a pendant necklace that my grandmother can wear and press when she needs help with ANYTHING. Even if she needs help working the air conditioner....press the button and someone will come! I am so pleased with the service here and I am happy to report my grandmother is loving her new community and how helpful they are to her. She loves that they gave her ice cream and have Bible Study opportunities.

Recently, we moved my aunt into memory care at the facility. From the moment she came into the facility, to the times that I get to visit, the atmosphere is extremely welcoming. The staff is friendly, well-trained, and always loving on my aunt. The other residents have warmed up to my aunt as well, and definitely have a supportive community in memory care for her. My family even stopped in for lunch and the food was amazing. I admit i did not expect much when I heard she was moving into an assisted living home, but everything has been above our expectations and I highly recommend anyone to come and visit.

I visited this facility

Recently, My wife and I took a tour of this facility in search of a home for her mother. We have been across many facilities in the area and nothing really stood out from any of them until we met the director at Augusta Gardens. She really went above and beyond to make us feel at home and had every answer for all of our questions. Yet the reason she stood out the most was because of the level of concern and sincerity she showed during our time together. The facility is older, but you can tell the staff works to keep it in shape. There was a staff member painting the outside shutters when we visited, and whatever they were cooking for lunch smelled amazing. We are leaning towards this facility because of the pride that shows that they are putting in the facility and care given during our time there.

My grandmother is a resident at Augusta Gardens. This weekend we attended the Mother's Day event that they had at the community for each of the mothers that are current residents. All that I can say is WOW! It was completely over the top, the decorations were nice, the setup was accommodating, the food was amazing, the desserts were even better, and the best part was to see how much the staff came together to make this day as special for my grandmother and the others as possible. My grandmother was completely taken back and said this was the best Mother's day that she has ever had. That's almost 70 years... I am very happy that she had a great day. Thank you to the staff for all of their hard work. it is appreciated.

My grandfather is a current resident. The facility and staff are beyond expectations and the management team maybe new, but they are fully committed to the residents and building the community. The few meals that I have had with my grandfather there have been excellent and way beyond what you would expect. Ashley has been first class with how she has handled his transition and beyond informative and helpful every step of the way. I highly recommend this community for your loved one.

Lots of new staff members and management that aren’t trained and don’t know what they’re doing. Not a lot of residents and the ones there don’t seem very happy. Would not put my loved one here

My mother has moved into the memory care of Augusta Gardens. I like the place very much. The people are super nice and very attentive to my mom. They know how to handle her, so she is doing very well, and she is eating very well. She is in a single room, and you provide the furniture because it doesn’t come with any furniture, but she has a window and her own bathroom with a shower. The grounds are well-kept, and the location is very convenient especially for me.

I've already placed mom in Augusta Gardens. It wasn't huge, and it was very clean, light, and airy. Everyone answered all my questions, they were very friendly and gave me a tour of the facility. It was just a nice experience. They have a lot of things going on that the residents can participate in. They get a calendar for the month that tells them where and when it is in the facility. It's pretty easy to get to everything. She seemed to like the food.

I visited this facility

I visited Augusta Gardens. They were just as nice as the other one I visited. The rooms were kind of in the small size, but if you looked at it as, like not being in a house, but just a room to just basically sleep in, then had their meals in another place and socialize in other places, its fine. I looked at the dining facility. It was very elegant. They did not go into a lot of their recreational activities. They kind of stressed more so on that they could take them on their doctor's appointments on certain days and that they would be able to help them with their medication at an additional cost and stuff like that. The staff was very informative. They explained everything and the prices. They were convenient. It was neat and clean.

Mom is living at Augusta Gardens. The main thing why we chose this is because they allowed her to take her dog inside the facility. They do have lots of activities too, and it's close to a hospital.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I have a relative who was at Augusta Gardens. The rooms were good, but I think they need more staff and those staff that are trained, to know how to deal with seniors. His room is very spacious and the facility is fairly clean. They have a large dining room. The facility is not crowded. They do have some activities, but he did not participate in much. I know they have singing and some games; something similar to bingo.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

We have a friend whose father is in the Augusta Gardens, and he's happy being there, so we went to check it out for my dad. I like that it is not very old, not too big, and everybody there seems to be helping out. My dad's got a lot of stuff, but his room is big enough to put it all in. The staff is helpful and friendly. But they don't have a lot of space outside for the residents to walk around.

The Director has not been at work in several days. When you need advice or some one to complain to you are directed to the Marketing Manager. I find this very disturbing because the manager can not speak for the director. There have been a few issues concerning cleanliness, medications being administered at appropriate times, morale of staff is declining and residents complaining to other residents family members about the meals. Outside activities have been reduced to one visit per week to Wal Mart. The bus that they have parked outside is rarely used for resident outings. There is very little laughter among the staff and residents in the front area. When you visit for the first time you are served a meal different from what the residents are having at the same time. You need to look at the activities calendar and notice that the main activities are bingo, trivia and moving and grooving. The majority of the time there is nothing going on.
