    I visited this facility

I thought that the rooms were very clean and nice in this facility. Each room had 2 patients with room for visitors. The rooms were set up like a home, not clod like a hospital at all. in fact the entire facility has a homey feel. Each patent has their own flat screen tv with ear phones connected. the nurses and other workers are very attentive to their patients and make their safety a sure priority. In house Physical and occupational therapy play a huge role in recovery especially from a stroke.

    I visited this facility

At the age of 94, my aunt had to leave behind the home she'd known her whole life, due to a fall and dementia.Life Care Center of Auburn is set on well kept grounds, a ways behind a local business. It has been in the community a long time, and is well known with a respected reputation. This meant a lot to us, as we had known many families throughout the years who had experience with sending a loved one there.I always saw smiling and friendly faces when we would visit her there, coming to know several individuals by name. We never had any complaint about the quality of care. Two amenities which I found special are the ice cream parlor and beauty shop, two things that can serve to give residents a semblance or normality and community. The one complaint I would voice would be that the food was a little disappointing and uninteresting, which can be a difficult hurdle in trying to keep the elderly properly nourished.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My family has been with LifeCare of Auburn for over 2 years now. My mother fell down her cellar stairs causing unbelievable, critical injuries. She survived due to the incredible UMASS hospital and staff. She went to LifeCare for sub-acute rehab. They worked hard, but decided she probably would never do better. She got mad and said, 'don't give up on me yet..... They said, 'OK'. She proved that her determination and their wonderful staff made a great combination. She went home 2 months later. Because of their wonderful work, we decided that when Dad was struggling to take care of himself, he would go to LifeCare's rehab facility. He deteriorated mentally and physically and we placed him there permanently. Because he was a WWII disabled veteran, his stay was taken care of by the VA. What a great year we had with him and LifeCare of Auburn! They took such good care of him (and us). We all just became a blended family, partly because of Mom's connection, then Dad's, but also because they always thought of us too. They cried along with us when Dad went to heaven"¦"¦. It will be hard not to go there everyday anymore"¦"¦ we will always hold them near and dear to our family!

Not equipped for Alzheimer Patients! My mother was sent here for rehab after a fall. She was given rehab for the fall, but the staff was not prepared to give the cues, prompts and assists required for daily living activities. Some Aides were terse with several elderly patients. I moved Mom back to her assisted living and private-paid for 24 hr. care for several weeks, until she had fully recovered.
