I chose Amana Retirement Community Lakeview Village. The price was much better and I didn't have to make a deposit. The staff was very good and it has a very good reputation. There's nursing home care, independent living and assisted living. I can choose from those depending on the need that I have at the time that I enter there. I inquired about independent. The rent was very reasonable and affordable for independent living and for nursing home care. A large private room in the nursing home wing was 235 for a daily rate. They had an exercise room, a recreation room and activities. I'm familiar with the administrator and I feel good about her. Everything is well done and taken care of there.

About Amana Retirement Community in Amana, Iowa
Lakeview Village is situated among Iowa’s rolling hills in the peaceful countryside and is close to the renowned Amana Colonies Golf Course. Adjacent to the senior community is Lily Pond, a serene outdoor space where seniors can enjoy birdwatching, picnics and outdoor strolls. Residents can also enjoy the convenience of being located a short distance from a medical center, restaurants and shops.
Lakeview Village is an assisted living and independent living community with a full-time registered nurse on-site and 24-hour staff licensed to dispense medication. Each room has emergency call lights, giving seniors peace of mind that help is always available. Daily wellness checks and physical and occupational therapists are other services offered on-site. The independent living townhomes are easily accessible and offer handicap friendly bathrooms with a sit-down shower. Garden and home maintenance and snow removal services are included.
Residents all have access to the Aspen Therapy & Wellness Center, where they can enjoy a range of spa treatments and exercise classes. There is a calendar of diverse social and activity programs to keep seniors inspired as well as excursions to points of interest in the surrounding area. Other amenities include a weekly grocery pick-up service and an on-site barber and beautician.
