I toured Bridgewood Gardens. The lady who took us around was very friendly. Everybody was very friendly because we were taking a tour. It was clean, and everything was fine. It would have been okay. It was close enough to our house. However, when we got down to the cost and they called in with the cost on that, I told the lady, I said, save your little time and it's cost prohibitive. It's way too much money. Because it started at, I don't know, 5500 and by the time they did this and that, we have to do this and that. It was like 7000 a month. And I said, "No, we're not doing that." Even five is too high. And so, we talked for a bit and then she said, "Well, what is your budget?" And I said, "Well, I can't tell you my budget, but I can tell you 7000 is out of the question." And she said, "Well, we might be able to find you a smaller room for 4800 a month." And I said, "Smaller than the room you showed us?". I said, "What is it? A closet in a hallway." And she kind of laughed. She goes, "Well, it is smaller." I said, "No, we're not interested." And so that was the end of it. I have no intention to call them back or bring my wife there. It was an older facility, but it's being renovated, and clean as a pin. I have nothing bad to say about the facility or the people who work there. It's just cost prohibitive. It's way too much money.

I went to Bridgewood Gardens. As far as the activities, it was great. They were coming out of a van with a trip they had just made to Walmart. The facilities were very nice. The staff didn't honor our appointment. They took someone before us, so that was a little disappointing. But after speaking with them, they were very nice. The rooms were very nice. I like the one-bedroom, it was very roomy and nice. It was a very nice facility. The staff was great after we met with them. They answered all of our questions

My husband was in Bridgewood Gardens. It was very clean, they had renovated it, it was very nice, and the staff was very nice. They just could not cope with his severe dementia. The rooms are very nice and very clean. They had very good food, and I ate there a couple of times.

We selected the assisted living at Bridgewood Gardens for my mother-in-law. However, after about four weeks, they moved her to memory care. It appears to be clean at first sight, but it can be a lot better on the memory care side. We had to complain about the room not being clean and the toilet being dirty. On the assisted living end, it is always clean, but on the memory care unit, it is not. The workers do a good job, but the management is lacking terribly. The food is basic and nothing to get excited about. Nothing is as good on the memory care end as it is on the assisted living end. The room is just one room with a bathroom. It is clean, and if you complain, they will clean it. It is not filthy, but they have to clean it more than they do. All my mother-in-law does is watch TV.

Bridgewood Gardens was really good and they gave us lots of information and answered all our questions. If they couldn't answer questions, they directed us in a way that we could find out. The lady who toured us is wonderful and helpful. The place was good and pretty clean. They're always having activities, like mock Vegas night and magic. It was just overall a great experiece. I got a good vibe from it.

My mother-in-law has moved into Brookdale Albertville. It's really clean, nice, and well taken care of. They have a lot of good services. They seem to have a lot of activities like memory games. They decorated her room and moved in her furniture. It looked really nice.

Merrill Gardens is OK. It is a lot more expensive than the other facility I liked. I liked the dining area. The menu was fine; in fact, they allowed us to eat a meal there. The room has its own bathroom and kitchenette. One of the good things about Merrill Gardens is it is all on one floor. Elevators doesn't bother me, but the only thing you worry about is if you have a power failure in an emergency. It is kind of difficult for older people if you are on the top floor and have to leave that place in a hurry. It is not an easy thing for senior citizens. The staff is OK and fine. The location is fine. It is right across the street from us. I live in an upscale neighborhood, so it is in a good neighborhood as far as that is concerned. They seem to have quite a few activities, and it wouldn't be any problem there.

My mom was only there at Merrill Gardens for maybe six months, and we were totally satisfied. She had a very nice room, and the staff was great, very caring, and attentive. I don’t have any complaints at all. The grounds were very well-maintained, it’s a very attractive property, and it was off the main highway, so it’s very quiet. They had bingo, a game room, they have people come and sing, and they have church on Sunday mornings or services. I thought it was very good. The food wasn’t great, but it’s not bad. It’s like cafeteria food or hospital food, but when mom was not there anymore, they changed the chef and food managers, so maybe it has improved.

My grandmother has been living in Merrill Gardens for two whole years. From her experience, she says its worth the money. The employees there are very helpful and make sure to check on her many times a day. She has had some prior problems with a couple of the "newer" employees, but almost everyone else is just like family. They remember her name and all the different types of pills that she is on. When I go and visit her, they are very nice to me and my family. The building itself is very clean and new, but its sort of far away from our hometown. But since she spends all her time here, its worth it. The amount of people in the building inst too high, but it is a bit crowded around holidays. The reason give this place a 4, is the pricing. My grandmother needs our help to pay the monthly fees, but we will do anything to keep her here.
