I visited this facility

Park Meadows Senior Living has independent living and small cottages that most of the facilities don't have. It has a fitness center. It's close to a swimming pool because they don't have one, but the grounds are nice. The building is immaculate, and I was impressed with their staff. The gentleman came and talked to us and he was very specific about what we needed and was very helpful with the information. The director was a lady, and she was very good, very helpful, and very friendly. We got to eat lunch there, and the staff was very courteous and kind. The sandwich did not particularly interest me though. My wife might have a different answer, but that's just one time. As far as the grounds go, it was immaculate. It's in a good location.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Our 92 year-old father/grandfather/father-in-law chose Parks Meadow for moving into a senior facility last Fall (2022). He eventually moved to Parks Meadow in January of 2023; however, it was recommended that he reserve his unit by paying the December 2022 rent. Unfortunately, soon after his move he became ill, hospitalized and passed away in mid-February, 2023. His stay at Park Meadows was only 3 ½ weeks (late January to mid-February). The family paid March rent as we needed time to remove his belongings from the unit. In all, we paid 4 month’s rent for his short stay. Another part of his “singing” up for Park Meadows was a “one time non-refundable” Community Fee – in this case $10,000 listed on page 40 of a 52-page lease agreement. It was explained that the Community Fee would lower his rent over his stay at Park Meadows. The family requested that Park Meadows refund at least part of the Community Fee. as his unit was only used a short time and he did not get a chance to use dining or any other facility amenities. Obviously, the family is very disappointed, and surprised, on the position Park Meadows is taking. Although there is no legal recourse, we find it unethical for Park Meadows to keep all of the “Community Fee” as his residence was so short in time. In speaking to the business officer at the facility, she could only say “it’s out of my hands” and “I completely understand”. In the end, it feels like a 92 year old man was taken advantage of with a very long and detailed lease agreement and an insensitive corporate entity.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We are residents of Park Meadows Senior Living. This place is very good in terms of living quarters but they're poor on food service. Their meals are terrible. We go out to eat most meals, and what we don't go out to eat, we fix inside. We live in a duplex. They have four duplexes here plus the high rise that they have. You can go into the high rise and have your meals and exercise and stuff like that. The layout is fantastic. They're supposed to change your bedding every week, but we've gone for three weeks without them changing the bedding, and I've hired an outside person to do it for me. They look good. They present well. But they suck on operations. The food is nasty. The only one that is palatable is breakfast. Breakfast is edible. The staff changes daily. Some of them are rude. The facilities are fantastic, and they got activities. But it's a lot of money for what we got.

My mother was told that she must leave Park Meadows (PM) assisted living because she failed a cognitive/memory test several times. She was told she must find somewhere else to live and could not remain at PM. She prepaid her rent for the next month while looking for another place to live. She found another place and moved out of PM mid-month. PM then refused to refund the balance of the unused prepaid rent she had paid, on the grounds that she had not given them 30 days written notice she was going to leave. PM kept her prepaid rent, despite knowing at all times that she was leaving AT THEIR DEMAND.

Park Meadows is a very nice place with nice staff but some staffing turnovers. The setup is very nice. The flow, the rooms, and the activity rooms are very nice. They had a central area and some music and games, but they didn't have a full-time activity director. They had the position, but they did not have it filled. The staff members are very knowledgeable and very friendly, but they're short-staffed and missing a few key positions.

Park Meadows is a better location for me. I like the fact that they have assisted living if I needed it. They have the basic activities, like movie nights, bingo, and cards. They have all the meals too. I saw the apartments; however, I wasn't overly impressed with the lady who talked to me. Since I told her I was not ready to move in, I got an impression that she kind of lost interest in the whole tour.

I can not recommend the assisted living at this facility. The management is unable to ensure residents are routinely checked on - I could be there 5 hours and see no one. Talking to them was unfruitful. Second floor seems to be worse than first floor. They switch workers around constantly so the relationships that are so important aren’t formed. If you take a parent here, please be there a lot - they will need you!

Park Meadows Senior Living has patio homes, which we found appealing, but they were expensive. However, they did have the main building where they have apartments as well. They have different sized apartments. The price included the meals, utilities, cable, housekeeping, and a life alert system. The community has a full-service beauty salon, a barbershop, complimentary housekeeping, a library, a computer business center, a greenhouse, and arts and crafts and games room. They also have special travel events where they hire a bus and take you somewhere. They have a pool table and a media center. The place was very clean; it was a nice presentation.

I do not want to get into all that happened. I do NOT recommend park meadows whatsoever. I am a retired Speech/language pathologist. While the aides are good—there was A HUGE turnover. Also a HUGE turnover with administrative staff. Beyond incredible lack of consistency. I do not recommend park meadows. My mom spent 9 K and she also had a private duty aide from 6 am until 8pm. Her fees were 17K A MONTH!! Her night duty was only good when certain aides worked. So many many times we found her to push her button and no one came. OR they said they came in and I SLEPT there and saw no one come in room to check her. I can PROVE it by video. Do not go here unless they do a huge overhaul.

My mom lived at Park Meadows for nearly 5 years. She was happy, treated respectfully, had friends and enjoyed some of the activities which suited her. It was a clean, friendly and helpful environment. She felt very fortunate to be there and was pleased to call it home.

I visited this facility

There was a one-bedroom, medium-sized unit at Park Meadows that we thought would be adequate for my father. It had its own bedroom and a small living area with a small kitchenette and a nice-sized bathroom. I talked with one of the staff members who was very nice and very informative. I met with someone who works with them with exercises who was very nice, too. The cafeteria was very spacious and very clean. I like the fact that they had several items on their menu. It was very nice. I was very impressed with it.

My sister is in the memory care of Park Meadows. It's gorgeous, it never smells, and the whole campus is beautiful. They're very attentive, it's almost one-on-one, and they take good care of her. I've had lunch there, and it was wonderful. They have ice cream socials, and they don't allow her to stay in her room.

I liked Park Meadows a lot. The interior was kind of contemporary and had an open feeling. I liked the separation of the different living units. The staff was good. I looked at one and two-bedroom apartments, and I thought they were good. They were contemporary and clean. They were nice.

Park Meadows was nice. The staff was great. I liked their apartments. We were particularly interested in their patio home, which was pretty nice. However, we would have to go out and across to get to the dining room. There were rooms that were nice and large enough. They had smaller double bedroom apartments and a larger one.

I have taken my fifth grade choir to perform at Park Meadows Senior Living Overland Park for several years now. The "Director of Fun", Lori, is wonderfully courteous and vibrant. The residents come in full of smiles, and my students leave truly saying this stop is their favorite. It is a good experience for all of us!

Nice community. Grounds are well kept. Building neat and tidy. . Do feel food is a bit lacking in variety and taste. Although I think they are making some nice improvements. I have found their activities department to be far above most that I have seen at other communities. They always have lots of things going on through out the day. Staff is pleasant and very respectful to residents. Have only encountered one manager that has been rude. The rest are beyond caring and helpful. I would recommend Park Meadows as a great community where you can meet new people, enjoy activities and feel safe and secure.

I have a family member at Park Meadows and when I visit I always come away feeling good about leaving her with such kind and caring people. She is almost never alone as there are all sorts of activities going on throughout the day, even weekends. While I wish the dining staff were a little more attentive, I know that she is eating well and has several options to choose from. She is able to out quite often as the staff takes her to and from doctors visits, shopping and entertainment events. She loves it.

We put a deposit down at Park Meadows Senior Living. Park Meadows has a lot of beautiful, nice amenities and spacious rooms, but I don’t feel that they were upfront with us. They were very nice, very promising, and accommodating. They told us my parents were next on the list, but their apartment got rented out from under them without an apology, so I’m trying to get the money back. It’s a beautiful community, but I don’t know if I completely trust them. If everybody is cold and distant, that’s not the place you want to be. Based on the visit, everything was fine, clean, and nice. It just came down to the fact that they had rented out our apartment without excuses or repercussions.

I visited Park Meadows and liked it. I looked at the villas and thought they were too small for two people, but I thought they would be great for one. It's close to where I live, and the villas were nice. The people were really nice and helpful, and the atmosphere was really nice. It all depends on what you're looking for and what fits your need, but it is worth seeing. The staff was very nice and very accommodating.

I toured this facility two different times without making a prior appointment. The independent and assisted living options provide a warm atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. First impression is very favorable and so the second visit only secured my first choice that this could be a facility where we may consider for future living options for my parent.

Park Meadows Assisted Living provides a caring atmosphere for our father. We feel lucky to have found a staff of professional individuals who truly go the extra mile to communicate with us. The transition from independent living to assisted living has been relatively smooth for all of us. Our Dad is finally getting the care that he deserves such as regular bathing, clean clothing, and stimulating activities. We are grateful to have found a place that supports not only our Dad, but also our family. Patti, Sheri and Kathy are exceptional in their thoughtful guidance and have a wealth of experience to help us each step of the way.

My parent has been a resident of Park Meadows for two years. In that time there have been four administrators. The facility is maintained well. The help staff is wonderful. The corporation needs to remember that they would have NO profit if there were NO residents. Treat the staff and the residents with the respect they deserve. The dining experience is atrocious. The food is always cold and it often takes over an hour to get food served. I visit quite often and it never gets better. Sometimes the food is good but it takes over an hour to get it. Another thing I notice is that the residents never see the administrator. Peter needs to be seen on occasion.

Four years ago my father was diagnosed with dementia and our family began the search for a new place for him to call home. At the time of diagnosis he was still very independent and required no help in his daily activities, but knew that it would change some day. The staff at Park Meadows, from day one, has been incredible!! He moved in on the Independent Living side and lived there happily for three years! We then decided it was time to move to Assisted Living as he was requiring additional care. The staff made the transition for my dad as easy as they could...for me, they made me feel good about the decision and answered any and all questions and concerns. Unfortunately for my dad, his dementia progressed quickly and it was obvious he needed to move to a safer facility. We were lucky to get to move him to the Memory Care at Park Meadows. The doors are locked, easing my mind that he wouldn't wander out and about without anyone with him. The facility is easier for him to navigate so he feels more comfortable. The care he receives there is unbelievable. I believe that everyone I have met there has been so kind, understanding and all around wonderful! I so appreciate the care that Park Meadows has given my dad (and me!) through his illness.

My dad has been a resident and is now in Memory care. Both facilities are well maintained and staffed with caring professionals. They offer many activities and make services available to meet the needs of all residents. The staff is caring, friendly and aware of the needs of each resident. The surroundings are very nice and designed to meet everyone's needs.

Overall, Park Meadows Senior Living (5901 W 107th St.) has a lot of activities going on. My mom needed physical therapy when she moved in, and all that has been handled well. They have a room where people can work out, which is nice. My mom has a nice one-bedroom apartment, and the bedroom is a fairly good size. There are a lot of windows, so she gets a lot of natural light. She has a kitchen, but she eats in the dining room most of the time and she says the food is good. They have a bus that takes you to places every day. They have canasta and bridge clubs and quilting. They have just something going on pretty much all day long. Everybody is very friendly, and the place is very clean.

The facility was very clean and the staff was very helpful and thoughtful, allot of the members of the staff treated the people they worked with as family instead of just customers. My grandma however did prefer that she had more freedom to do more physical actives provided through the facility instead of having to go out and find her own activities. The facility had multiple types of therapies available for residents to use to help them live to the best of their abilities however, my grandma has not required these.

My mother-in-law lives at Park Meadows in Overland Park, Kansas. The facility occupies a modern, three-story building housing a variety of apartments. There is also an assisted-living wing, which has its own dining facility. A separate Alzheimer's unit is planned for the same campus. Park Meadows has two buses and provides transportation to doctor's appointments and for shopping. There are frequent group trips to casinos and other entertainment destinations. The apartments range from studios to large two-bedroom units, with several floor plans at each size. They are outfitted with small full kitchens. The apartments are bright and clean. Maid service is included in the contract. The maintenance crew is exceptionally helpful; they cheerfully install cabinets, hang pictures, and perform other special requests. The large central dining room is pleasant and versatile; it is also used for large meetings.Residents run a store that makes available a variety of small necessary items. Mom works in the store and finds it to be a great way to meet other residents. The managers of the facility and the departments extend themselves to get residents involved in activities. They encourage people to express their concerns and needs through several committees and frequent meetings. Mom was skeptical about living at Park Meadows, but she has found it to be a rewarding experience.

Home is clean, and has "move in to the end" care available. Multiple dining areas, with open eating schedules. The facility provides weekly cleaning services, and a variety of floor plans are available. Washer and dryers are not available in the individual apartments, but generally are within easy walking distance for elderly residents. There are continual events, and activities: bingo, bunko, movies, etc. The facility has a game room with, skee ball, pool table, and card tables. There is a beauty shop on the premises, it would be better if the nail salon was upgraded with spa chairs instead of old fashioned foot tubs. The home is clean, and provides move in incentives along with incentives to residents to refer friends or relatives.

Park Meadows is a really wonderful place. The staff is very friendly and inviting. The other patients there are usually friendly and willing to tell a story or two. The rooms are tarrific! They are so beautiful and homey, they really make the patients feel at home. My grandmother loves all the activities that are available. She has made tons of friends, both patients and staff. I find Park Meadows to be such a lovely place, I wouldn't mind living there!

I visited this facility

We visited the Park Meadows Senior Living assisted living facility while searching for a place for our aunt to live in the Kansas region. It was clear from the moment we got there that this was a really luxuriously designed living environment for seniors. The outer grounds were nicely designed and maintained. The nice park-like area was designed to be easy access for residents, where they can enjoy walking around safely, with supervision as necessary. We could see that there is also plenty of space to have parties and to socialize with friends, families and other residents. The receiving room was nicely decorated with comfortable furniture. The entire facility had a modern, yet still home-style feel. All of the rooms throughout the facility were fresh and bright with very good light. The color scheme was comfortable and soothing. The communal rooms were nice, with comfortable and easy access furnishings. We could see that the seniors could easily spend quiet time, socialize, play games, watch TV and participate in one of the many stimulating activities offered. The facility seemed to be able to accommodate various levels of ambulation easily. The private rooms all featured enough plenty of space in nicely decorated surroundings. All had a great deal of natural light and fresh air with very comfortable furniture. Seniors can use the exercise room at any time and also go on daily walks. Aerobics and yoga classes are offered, and many of the residents choose to get their exercise outdoors by walking around the grounds. The staff really tries to make physical activity interesting to encourage participation. The residents go on many day trips to visit the art galleries and museums, eateries and cultural events, such as festivals an fairs offered in the region. The dining room featured great furniture and adequate space n a nicely decorated area. The food we saw looked and smelled delicious - like food you would find in a high-end cafe. The menus all had healthy, but interesting food options for all kinds of diets. Snacks are offered regularly and whenever requested. The residents here looked very content in this well designed living environment and appeared very were well care by respectful staff. This is an exceedingly exceptional living environment for seniors and is at the top of our list for the region.
