Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium

My mother-in-law is in Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium right now. The big difference with this facility is they have actually set up a rehab plan. The goals they've set are realistic, and that she can easily reach to show progress. Her room is very clean. We have brought in personal items to try and make it a little bit more homey. They talk to us almost every day in regards to how she's doing. So, communication is very good. The facility is nice, well kept, well furnished, and very pleasing. The food looks very good and very well prepared. They've made it very healthy in regards to what the doctor has instructed on what she should have and what she shouldn't have.

Very appalled! I visit my mom every week and not a visit went by without a major humane neglect of a person! (Not to mention paying the high cost fee!) These are just a few of the neglectful treatment she received. 1. Walked in, everyone in "general population" , my mom was hanging out of her wheelchair, head almost on the ground, unconscious! Employees hanging around their desk on cell phones. Had a attitude when ask about the condition of not only my mom , but other residents also. I requested for them to call for a medic unit to take her to the hospital. They said no, until I insisted! Guess what? High fever, covid19, UTI! 2. Walked in, conjunctivitis, soiled hard diaper, trying to eat with no teeth. When trying to talk to the head nurse, she went into her office and slammed the door in my face. (Very professional and good bedside manner, huh?!) 3. As my mom was a high risks fall patient, they failed to properly prepare her room/bed. The outcome, contusions on her head, arms and hip. I could go on!! In closing, besides the high amount of money being paid to this place, the care needs revamped. Please don't be fooled by the manicured grounds and pretty buildings! It the people who "work" there caring for your loved ones!! Hope they don't have to count on this place for nursing care!!!(Negative 5 *s!)

I toured Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium and looked at their efficiency apartments. They also had studio apartments that people could move into, and they were all nice. The price was reasonable. They gave them three meals a day and access to medical people, if you needed it. The appearance of the place was very nice. The staff was very willing to provide whatever services the residents needed. They had a hall that everybody could go to, and they take people out on bus trips if they want to.

My mother is at Stella Maris in Lutherville-Timonium. It's pretty, clean, and inviting. Her room is spacious. The staff is wonderful. Right now, there are not a lot of activities because of COVID, but they had somebody come and play the guitar. They're just getting back to an activity schedule. The food is fine, and the dining area is clean. They have a beauty salon and a small chapel.

We used Stella Marris for adult day care services. The place seemed very nice, and the staff were very friendly and personable. The place was very clean and well staffed with a good ratio of patients to staff. They have lots of diverse group of activities. I did not try the food, but it looked very appetizing. They actually serve sit-down meals, not cafeteria style.

Stella Marris is a large facility with living and rehabilitation services for seniors. During several stays from strokes and a surgery, my step dad accepted rehabilitation services in their rehabilitation center. He stayed several times in chunks of two week periods. The facility is located on a very nice area with trees and fields. The staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to help out with requests or with questions. My step dad had very good care while staying there and even enjoyed the food. Each stay he was able to watch tv, associate with others, and even partake in activities if he wanted to. The facility had a very busy rehabilitation center with numerous therapists available to help patients with their recovery. They had different types of exercise equipment, walking aids, stairs, and other devices. My stepfather was able to walk better after a stroke with their great expertise. There were also social workers or case managers that could help out with anyone needing outside services or finding other caretakers once they had left the facility. My stepfather was able to find an outside physical therapists with their help. The facility is accessible by car and has ample parking for guests. When visiting him, we would often eat in the dining area which is open to guests and residents alike. They also have several areas to sit or rest while visiting. During the spring and summer months they had numerous flower beds in bloom, making the area around the facility very inviting. Overall Stella Marris is very well recommended and has a wide range of services available.
