I took my mothers durable power of attorney to her bank and they told me it would be 72 hours before I could do anything with her account. The attorney that drew it up said it was effective immediately. Can the bank deny me access to my mothers account?

How do we invalidate a DPOA that was not signed by the principal i.e. Fraudulent endorsement. The notary who was employed by the nursing home has no record book and doesn't remember doing it. The so called Agent is still in the principal home and refuses to. Give the family any records and is still selling off his assets. The principal passed away April 11,2013

My father was recently involved in a car accident. The accident has left him a quadriplegic. His wife has given me permission to make all decisions for all his medical needs. He has verbally stated that he wants me to have durable power of attorney. Does his wife have to authorize me to become his durable power of attorney.

How can you re-sign the POA document on an annual basis so that it is a record current, if your loved n can't sign their name?
