Hamm also created an online tool to help people choose their best option for paying for their long-term care expenses.

Hamm founded the National Alliance of Objective Financial Advisors, an organization of financial advisors who are bound by law to act in the best interests of their clients.

WHY I CARE

"My family has encountered the ugly face of long-term care twice in two separate generations," says Hamm. "My grandfather needed care for four years. More recently, my dad developed Parkinson's disease and needed care for several years. These experiences influenced me to choose a career in helping people plan for a long-term care event before the need occurs."
