New Research: Don't Kick That Coffee Habit Just Yet
Last updated:October 03, 2011
Albert Ascherio, a physician and professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, followed more than 50,000 women for a decade and asked lots of questions about their caffeine consumption and their happiness. Ascherio found that women who drink coffee have about a 20 percent lower risk of depression than women who don't. Also, the more coffee they drank (up to six cups), the more their depression risk fell.
