Caring for my husband Member since May 02, 2010My husband and I are in our early sixty,s along with the alzheimer,s he is physically disabled, only being capable of getting around the apt. with a walker and needs a wheelchair to go any distance over 40 yards. He has hearing aids and is deaf as a post making communications at home something all the tenants on our floor aware of. It is a stressful way of life knowing your neighbours hear all your conversations and I,m sure feel I,m a shrew for yelling at him all the time. Then 20 minutes later he forgets what we loudly discussed anyway. He is recovering from surgery at the present having a modified radical mastectomy in March. He has great strength of character not giving voice to even one complaint about anything through the lengthy ordeal to save me any added stress to what I was already under. I suffer with bi polar disorder which is also adversley affected by stress Every day is a new adventure just getting through the day together
