Caring for me Member since April 07, 2010i am 64 and living alone. My significant othr went into rehab cause of his drinking and now i am alone.I have learned us seniors do not take very good care of our selves..eg we don;t like cooking just for 1.I do miss a lot of meals, still drive but get very lonely.I have no family here so during the day it is not so nice but i am ok at night.Another thing i have found we do not like change. It was ok when we were younger but not now. Also we do not want to get rid of our treasures.Everybody says sell it you don'r need it,wel maybe i do,evenif it takes up space.Oh well what can i say, there are a lot of us baby boomers out there and now change does not come easily.Ne mother was 24 years older than me and she sure did not like change.I am in her shoes now.lolShe would eat sandwiches but I do not eat bread or sugared tea like she did.I am on insulin4x a day and I put myself on a strict diet to bring everything to normal limits chlosterol, aic and trygliserydes and i follow it.Becoming a diabetic was my wakeup call,Not even my stroke was nor heart disease but diabeties was.all I can say is there but for the grace of God go I.
